My wife and enjoyed our recent stay and certainly are in agreement with the reviews. We stayed in the room on the upper floor and certainly would recommend it due to having the best view and offers the most privacy as not being poolside as the other rooms. The room is very spacious and we loved the double sinks in the bathroom. We did experience very strong winds during our visit. I don't know if this is the norm, but at times I felt the room shake and had to close the windows to lessen the the noise from the wind at night. Normand arranged two days of guided excursions with Anslim who did an exceptional job of showing us around the beautiful island.

Room Tip: the room on the upper floor offers the best view and most privacy.

I rely on Trip Advisor to find small hotels and B&Bs and have yet to be disappointed. As a result, most of my reviews rate the hotels and B&Bs highly, which is usually consistent with most other reviewers. I have to say though, that the Inn on the Bay is one of the two best B&Bs we've ever stayed at (the other is in Bonnieux, France). Trip Advisor needs an "Excellent Plus" category. Both have fantastic locations and both have superlative hosts. Norm and Louise make you welcome before you arrive, treat you like friends of long-standing while you're there, and provide superb advice and assistance throughout. The Inn itself is perched on a ridge on the southern entrance of Marigot Bay, and all the pictures on Trip Advisor don't begin to do the location or the Inn itself justice. Our room--the smallest (though very roomy) and most private--was well-appointed and very nice, with a private veranda and an unbelievable view (everyone gets the view). Something to consider when deciding to stay on St Lucia is location--in the north are numerous all-enclusive resorts, but frankly they're indistinguishable from those you find in Mexico, Florida, etc., and have the KFCs, Burger Kings, cruise ship passengers and other accoutrements of civilization to prove it. In the south, around the Pitons, are gorgeous but very expensive and somewhat remote resorts (we dined at Ladera--worth a trip in itself for the view--and swam at Sugar Beach), but once off those resorts your dining options are limited and nightime driving hazardous. In my humble opinion, Marigot Bay is the ideal location from which to explore St Lucia--off the beaten path, yet within easy striking distance of what you want to do in the north and south, especially by boat (which Norm will arrange upon request). There are several great restaurants around the small bay, and the fact that seemingly everyone in town knows Norm ensures you're well taken care of . The boating ambiance and unbeatable location make Marigot Bay truly unique--and staying at the Inn on the Bay is the icing on the cake.

My daughter and I spent Thanksgiving week as a mother-daughter joy at the In on the Bay in St Lucia. The stay was excellent. As several reviewers have noted, one has to be clear that this is an Inn, it is not a full service hotel. with that in mind, this is an excellent option for an active vacation. Norm and Louise go out of their way to suggest and arrange visits, excursions and dinner reservations. Norm drives up and down the hill whenever you want. The hill itself is the prerequisite behind the gorgeous view and sunset from the Inn. Highly recommended!

If you don't like the idea of an intimate Inn -- seek out the resorts.

The Inn on the Bay is truly a special place. I recommend it highly and we will certainly be back!
Normand and Louise are exceptional hosts. A lot of people in the hospitality industry give “customer service” lip service and no action. Normand is a master at truly exceptional customer service. He embodies outstanding service by anticipating your every need. He is available at virtually any time of day to organize excursions for you, will offer to drive you up and down the hill to Marigot Bay and provide you with a cell phone so you can call him to pick you up. Normand treats you as a good friend would, and has a great sense of humor.
The views of the Bay from the hotel are simply stunning. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is served every morning, with Louise's fresh baked muffins and breads. Everything just works.
I highly recommend staying at the Inn on the Bay, a truly wonderful experience.

We spent the New Year in St. Lucia at the Inn on the Bay and couldn't have been happier. The views from every angle were amazing, Marigot Bay is beautiful!! Norm and Louise were fantastic hosts: friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. They planned out any excursions we were interested in and picked us up in town after dinner each evening - it made exploring the area fun and stress-free. Just keep in mind that the property is up high on a hill, so it was a short walk to get down to the water (but all part of the adventure!), and it had a bed & breakfast feel (so slightly less privacy than in larger hotels). We had a wonderful time!

We stayed at the Inn on the Bay for one week from 16th January, 2014. From the moment we arrived we realised that we had found somewhere rather special. Our room, no 3, was large and airy - the shower very good. Breakfast made special with Louise's homemade cakes and muffins. Normand and Louise, our hosts, gave us a very warm welcome saying that they would do everything possible to make our holiday enjoyable. This welcome proved itself throughout our stay and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We wanted to explore the island and Normand arranged trips for us and we had some fantastic days with other couples sharing the excursions which reduced costs. Trips to Tet Paul Trail, Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay, Botanical Gardens will remain wonderful memories.

Although situated on top of the hill overlooking the Bay, it was never too much trouble for Normand to drive us to and back from the village. However, being in our sixties the walk was not out of the question which we did a couple of times, both up and down. Being only 5 bedrooms and 5 couples made for an intimate house-party type atmosphere and meeting couples from different countries made it interesting. Normand has a marvellous sense of humour resulting in a lot of laughter when we all got together. Forget resort hotels and enjoy the real St. Lucia in this wonderful hotel.

We relied heavily on TripAdvisor comments from prior guests when we made plans to spend our first vacation in St. Lucia. We likely won't add much more or different from the comments that have already been made regarding this beautiful Inn. I think it is listed as a resort hotel, but I would describe it as a bed and breakfast with only five guest rooms. We loved the quaintness of the Inn and appreciated that it did not have a huge resort 'feel' to it. We very much appreciated Normand and Louise's knowledge and expertise of the island. They arranged excursions that we shared with other couples also staying at the Inn on the Bay. This took the stress and strain off of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the days that they planned for us. It was nice to meet couples from other countries and other walks of life in and to spend the days with them. There was a level of comfort added that all we would have to say is, "We are with Normand" and we were treated with high regard. Our room was very comfortable and the view was spectacular! It was truly one of the best views we experienced in all of our travels around the island. Our favorite restaurants were the Hurricane Hole and the Rainforest Hideaway. As mentioned in other posts, Normand is always available to provide rides up and down the hill, but we also enjoyed walking down the hill into the bay area when time allowed. Whether you are planning a trip to simply stay at the Inn and relax the days away or to get out and experience the island, we hope that you enjoy your vacation as much as we did!

Room Tip: There is not a restaurant or fitness center on location. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms...
