Review of Inn on the Bay

We stayed at the Inn on the Bay during our visit to St. Lucia and our trip immediately went from amazing to extraordinary. Normand and Louise welcomed us into their Inn. Right away we felt as if we were home. The Inn is very special and the views are phenomenal. Looking down on Marigot Bay was beyond description. The rooms were comfortable, but the experience is once in a lifetime. We can see why the Inn gets such superb reviews on Trip Advisor. Normand was extremely helpful in assisting us in planning our daily activities. It was very reassuring being able to have him as a resource. Watching sunsets from the patio was also a very special time. We highly recommend the Inn for all those who can appreciate such a memorable experience. We are also blessed to have made wonderful friends during our visit.

A beautiful little hotel in a perfect position, overlooking Marigot Bay on one side with a wonderful sunset terrace on the other side. Normand and Louise are great hosts- they organised watersports for us, recommended restaurants and excursions and made us feel very welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

My wife and I stayed with Normand and Louise at their priceless property overlooking stunning Marigot Bay (St Lucia) for 8 days in March 2013. This is the prettiest accommodation I've enjoyed in my 64 years, operated by the most attentive hosts. We stayed in the largest of five rooms, on the 2nd floor, which looked down on the pool and further down to the beautiful Bay and its parade of yacht traffic, its village, and its palm-lined beach. Our room was uber-comfortable from bed to washroom to sitting areas; and the breeze kept the temperature perfect (87F daily). St Lucia is a perfect mix of welcoming people (they all know Normand), large enough for lots of daily activities to see & do, and easy to get around although you should rent a car for 2-3 days to explore. We also booked a water taxi -- all these are explained and arranged through Normand's many contacts after being a resident for nearly 20 years -- to take us south to see the Pitons from sea level and visit three beaches for swimming, snorkel and lunch. Just slather on some hi-grade sunblock those first few days which I didn't...

Room Tip: Take your pick of five available which are all fine. Ours was the one on the 2nd floor with a panor...

If you appreciate attentive personal service with a smile, Inn on the Bay is for you. The view can't be beat, breakfast is great, and Normand is at your beckoned call seemingly 24/7. You are truly one of the family the instant you arrive. The entire island seems to know Normand and will call him at your request. He arranged our land as well as water taxi, added bill to our room, and delivered us personally to each, drove us to Rodney Bay on his way to grocery store, and directed us to public transportation for return trip. Our room was newly remodeled and was quite nice. We were right on pool deck and that worked out well too. We met several nice couples we went on outings with. I suspect this is normal as the Inn attracts friendly outgoing people. Inn on the Bay is very quiet and peaceful. If this sounds good to you be aware of large resorts in north as atmosphere there is quite different. If we return to St Lucia there is no doubt we will be moving in with Normand and Louise again. They even shared their addresses when not in the islands and invited us to visit. When is last time you experienced that?

Room Tip: All rooms seemed good. One is much more isolated on west end. If that is your choice be sure to as...

These guys are great, very personable, very chatty, and made us feel very welcome. I had a ton of advice thrown my way in the first ten minutes! (all gratefully received)

Will drop in again when we next visit St Lucia! Thanks Normand and Louise.

I now understand why virtually all of the reviews regarding The Inn on the Bay as a lodging choice and more particularly the graciousness of the Innkeepers Normand and Louise are so exceptional. The Inn is high on a bluff overlooking the magical Marigot Bay. You look to the west to see the bay open onto the Caribbean Sea and to the east to the bay. The views change throughout the day and night and you find yourself just enjoying the comings and goings within the bay. I was astounded by some of the vessels that docked there from all over the world. Mornings are on the north side with the bay view and typically everyone eats together and shares island adventures as well as a bit about their lives away from paradise. There are fresh local fruits and juices and Louise cooks fresh muffins or breads every morning. There are 5 rooms so it never feels noisy or crowded. I was the lone solo and lone American at the Inn for the week I was there. There were younger and older couples there from the UK, Canada, and France. People do what they wish during the day and then all meet on the south deck to watch the sunset and talk about their day. It was a very nice social setting which added to the beautiful physical setting.

Normand and Louise take care of literally everything. They advise and make all arrangements for day trips and meals. I sat down with them to talk about things I might want to do and places I might want to visit. They gave me suggestions and helped me plan out my week. It really was like having a concierge service all focused on you! Beyond their local knowledge and reputation on the bay, they are just very nice people. Fun and interesting to talk to and very warm in all of their dealings with everyone. Normand gives you a ride down to the bay for your evening meal. When you settle your bill you just ask the folks at the restaurant to call and within minutes Normand arrives to take you back up to the Inn.

It really was a perfect time for me. It was a nice combination of relaxing around the Inn and doing some sightseeing around the beautiful island. I intend to go back soon. I would highly recommend the Inn to couples or solos who are looking for a small, quiet, and comfortable setting with wonderful views and extraordinary hosts.

The Bay has several eating places with a good variety of choices and prices.

We had a fantastic time staying with Norman and Louise. For someone looking for a quiet retreat away from the larger resorts this was just the ticket. Direct access to a secluded swimming area, beautiful views all around the bay and a delicious breakfast every morning. Norman and Louise were fantastic hosts; ferrying us around the bay, advising on the best eateries and helping us to arrange trips. We would definitely recommend the trip.
