“Lame Japanese. Stick to what the island does best: go local!”
Hyped as Anguilla's first authentic Japanese restaurant, my wife and I chose to go to Tokyo Bay in the Cuisinart resort for our only date night, while our kid was with a babysitter. It was clear from the start that the two or three Asian chefs were carrying the weight of the restaurant on their shoulders, because the help didn't have a f--ing clue about the food, sake, anything. And the food was just OK. Nothing stood out as anything better than basic sushi we could get back home in any basic Japanese restaurant.
I took a chance with this place because it was new. But we've almost always found that the fancy resort restaurants simply serve fancy hotel food...not real food. This was no exception. There are many other restaurants you should try on Anguilla instead of this place: Koal Keel, Tasty's, Da Vida, just to name a few.
