“Suncatchers - Welcome oasis on a wet day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

Suncatchers was recommended to us by friends and we have now visited twice and were not disappointed.
The service is prompt and friendly and the food is freshly cooked, generous and very good.
Suncatchers is quite idiosyncratic in a very good way with its colourful decor.
We love it!
A little gem in Masham.

“Not your run of the mill cafe.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

I came here on the recommendation of friends and was not disappointed. As you might gather from the name, Johnny Baghdad's is not your run of the mill cafe and the difference can be seen in the eclectic mix of food on the menu, which has a fine selection of Mediterranean-style meals and snacks.

They also do the sort of traditional fare you would expect of a North Yorhire caff and on a cold, blustery morning I treated myself to a full English breakfast, which was excellent. The ingredients were all locally sourced and cooked to perfection. The service was aso warm, friendly and efficient which, combined with the lovely ambience of the cafe, helped provide a most pleasant dining experience.

Whether for a full meal or just a coffee and slice of cake, Johnny Baghdad's is swiftly becoming the place to visit in Masham.

Highly recommended.

“Warm and welcoming on a cold day ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

We popped in here after a walk along the river on a very cold day and we're glad we did.

The staff were smily, the fire was kicking lots of heat out and the menu was really interesting - with a Mediterranean feel to it.

We sat on one of the settees and got warm again.

My lemon cake wasn't very moist or lemony, also the toilet could do with a really good clean along the edges of the walls and underneath the sink, but the whole experience was so nice, that wasn't a big issue.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

Obviously trying hard to give value and taste, excellent soup of the day
Very relaxed, quite unexpected in a little place unchanged for half a century seemingly
Well worth a visit
Beautiful position in leafy corner next to the old Vicarage and church
