Lovely experience, great room with quality fittings and furniture. Staff helpful, good coffee for the morning. Close to town and access to many interesting places. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples, families and friends.

Pros: Beautiful and lovely chateau, very nicely decorated room (we stayed in the Louis XVI Bedroom), warm service, our room even had a terrace, price was very reasonable, easy and free onsite parking

Cons: The shower area went for style over substance - no place to hang the showerhead and the water tended to splash everywhere whatever you did - it was manageable with towels on the floor

Other: Not the fault of the hotel obviously - Courselles is a quiet little place, and definitely felt a bit out of the way in terms of restaurant selection and sights. In hindsight it would have suited our trip better to have stayed in Bayeux.

Chateau is beautiful and peaceful. Location is great, close to Juno Beach Centre, town centre is just a few minutes walk. Interior is full of character. Our room had a private terrace. Owners were away but we were well looked after by Miriam who was very friendly and helpful. She explained interesting and extensive history of the Chateau. Highly recommend this B&B. Cons were baths instead of showers and limited availability of wifi but these were minor inconveniences. We travelled with family but it would be a great romantic relaxing getaway. There are many restaurants in town however service varied, best to ask for recommendations. Juno Beach Centre is very well done and a must see.

We travelled to Chateau Francois d'O on the first day of our trip to Europe and it was the perfect spot to start our vacation. Our children (6 & 8) were so excited to be staying in a chateau - the owner met us and showed us to our huge family room (2 separate bedrooms and large private bathroom). Beds were very comfortable and we adjusted to the time change with a great night's sleep! It is within walking distance of a small town market, many restaurants and shopping, and the Juno Beach Centre. Grounds are beautiful, chateau is nicely decorated, breakfast was lovely and we met some nice couples who were also travelling. Owner put out special dishes for the kids, which was a nice touch! Would have liked to stay longer and highly recommend to anyone travelling to the area!

My wife and I spent two nights here with our two children (6 and 8) and enjoyed our stay. It is a nice blend of traditional and modern - although the Chateau is quite old, the family that runs it completely renovated the interior recently. They have lots of interesting old photographs, and clearly have put a lot of effort into the place. The breakfast was delicious and the service was very friendly. The rooms have an old-fashioned feel but are quite comfortable. The location is convenient for exploring the D-Day beaches.

For those wishing to visit the Canadian D-Day landing Site at Juno beach and interpretive Centre in Normandy, and nearby Allied memorial sites along with a chateaux experience, the Chateau Francois d'O in Coursuelles-sur-Mer offers both. Within the town one can walk to the coastal beaches, restaurants and even shop the local market, just outside the chateau walls. The 5 rooms are spacious, one with a rooftop terrace and have attractive decor and modern baths. Breakfast, served in the drawing room by the family who own the chateau, was tasty. The daunting challenge of owning and operating such an historic complex becomes clear as well as its rewards.

Room Tip: The beds in France do not seem to be categorized as king or queen very often. We expected our bed to...

We stayed for 4 nights in September and switched rooms after 2 days due to prior booking commitments. This was fine with us as we knew before travelling this was the case. Both rooms were lovely, and splendid views over the grounds. Our hosts were very helpful and breakfast was a real social event as all guests sat at one table and we spent over an hour most mornings chatting with fellow guests. The breakfast was fresh, tasty and plentiful. All village amenities were within easy walking distance and this was a superb base for us to explore Normandy. If we were in the area again we would definitely stay there again.
