“A lovely weekend break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

This was our first time staying after finding it through Google. We managed to stay in the cottage, which was wonderfully comfortable. Jennifer was thoroughly welcoming and warm - just enough to make us feel at home, while at the same time giving us our space. The cottage, lounge and breakfast room were warm and beautifully clean, without being clinical and breakfast was superb. There were a few homely touches which just made that bit of difference, such as a cafetiere and coffee and lovely hand soaps and cream. Going to Usk is an annual occasion for us, where we meet up with friends from around the country. We will definitely be staying again next year and we will recommend it to our friends as well ... at least once we've booked!

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Oak Farm, Gwehelog, in Jennifer Dean's beautiful cottage with a huge, delicious, locally sourced breakfast served in her house on a linen tablecloth. The cottage offers independence to come and go at will. It is beautifully presented with furniture reflecting its owner's own impeccable style. It has comfortable beds, TV , fridge and coffee and tea making facilities as well as a wide selection of reading material including places of local interest. Fresh fruit from the garden is a bonus (this year fresh figs, raspberries and strawberries, blackberry and apple compote). It would be hard to find such a personal, and sympathetic host elsewhere and at a very reasonable rate.
