“good hotel to stay for business in Solna and Karolinska Institute”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I often stay in this hotel for business in Solna area. The hotel is located in Solna Centrum Shopping centre outside Stockholm. Good hotel to stay in if you are on a business trip or work in Solna or have to go to the Karolinska institute.
While a hotel in a shopping centre is unusal, it is not too bad as you can around and do a bit of shopping if needed. The hotel is well deserved for transport with a metro station just 10 meters away can get you in town quite fast. Breakfast is fantastic in terms of choice and variety of food. Lift is not so good, at peak times, you can wait for some time before you can take one of the 2 lifts. Restaurant is good and lunch special is very decent and at reasonable price. Lobby bar is also quite handy although a bit small and you do not always get a seat there. Rooms are clean and beds are okay. Bathroom is not really big though and the soap/shampoo provided are not great in terms of quality. Temperature in the room is the main issue in my opinion as you cannot control it, so it can be either too cold or too hot. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms on the right hand side as you leave the elevators are better (more modern) than the other ones...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying at Park Inn by Radisson Solna again. We are glad that you appreciate our convenient location in Solna, our hotel, restaurants and staff.

Unfortunately the lifts can be a congested sector during peak times. The hotel has 2 more lifts (2 in each hotel building) and you can easy walk between the floors in each hotel building. We will improve the information regarding this issue. The climate control in the rooms is regulated according to the weather circumstances and sometimes and when there are fluctuations in the temperature the transition is delayed. We are sorry for that and hope for your understanding.

We are looking forward to welcome you back to us again to another pleasant stay.

I could compare this hotel to a youth hostel - it's in a shopping centre and it's not nice - the lowish price should have told me something. It is convenient for the metro and buses but if you are on business don't stay here (my usual hotel was full) - it's run down, rooms smell musty and look tired. You seem to have to share the lift with the shoppers going to the car park so it is not peaceful.

Dear Guest,

Located within Solna Centrum with 120 shops and restaurants next to the hotel entrance and just minutes to the Solna business district and Stockholm city centre we are pleased to welcome guests for both business and leisure stays.

The hotel has been around since the mid 60's and made a major expansion in 2001 with 130 rooms. The other rooms have been refurbished in recent years and it is an ongoing process in our investment plan. This fall we can offer our guests a brand new conference area. Our elevators are for hotel guests only with access to both the hotels security garage and the Solna Centrum garage.

Thank you for your review, your input help us to improve and we hope to see you here as a guest again.

This hotel is located in Solna, a thriving northern suburb just outside Stockhom city centre. It is located inside Solna Centrum (a mall) and just a few metres from the Solna underground station. Stayed one night during a weekend. Check-in was swift and we got a room in the "old" wing. These rooms are refurbished, but not quite of the standard as the fully redecorated rooms.
The room we had was a tad small, but adequate for two adults and a baby.
We did not encounter any problems high temperature in the rooms as previous posters have complained about, but then again it was cold and rainy during our whole stay (barely above 14 degrees C).

The hotel has a private parking garage with reasonable rates, but there are far too few lots which fill up quickly it seems. We had to park outside which quadrupled the cost.

The breakfast area was quite large and busy, with sub-par to average quality. I had a sandwhich in the bar in the lobby the night before, which was surprisingly good though.

Overall good value, but nothing special. Probably one of the better alternatives if you have to be around Solna.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

My daughter and I stayed here in July, 2012 for six nights. As many reviewers have noted, it is not located in the central area of Stockholm, but we had three-day transport passes so using the Metro to get to/from the hotel during the day was not a problem. So, if you are considering staying at this hotel, I would strongly recommend getting a transit pass. The hotel is in a shopping mall that has a supermarket just a few minutes walk from the lobby. Checkin was courteous and efficient, the room was clean and quiet, but curtains did not always block out the light that is constant in mid-summer Scandinavia. I had to use eyeshades from the airline to get a better nights sleep!

Breakfast was great: wide selection of everything, including hot dishes such as eggs, meatballs, bacon, etc. Yes, it was crowded, but this is understandable since breakfast is included in the hotel room's price, and everyone is trying to eat a hearty meal before heading out for the day. Despite the crowds, it was always easy to find a table that was clean and I saw no shortages of anything from the buffet.

I would stay here again, and recommend this hotel to friends.

From Central Station take the subway to Solna Centrum. Upon exiting turn left, walk about 100 feet to the entrance of the mall, the Park Inn enterance is located straight ahead. Due to construction, going thru Solna Centrum via metro is the best way to find it. We arrived very early, around 9am, and was told that rooms would not be available until 3 but they would hold our luggage and we could wait in their lobby/lounge. Do not try to sleep in their lobby as we tried to do because they do not like it. They were very nice about it and by 10 am a room became available. Our room was on the 3rd floor and they do have 2 elevators available. The room had 2 twin beds pushed together which is standard for Europe and they were quite comfortable. There was also a small fridge in the room which was great for keeping bottled water in. There was free wifi in the room which worked wonderfully. There was a tub and a shower in the bathroom and a hair dryer was provided. There was limited space to hang clothes but the room was large. We were on the back side and had no issues with noise. The room was a bit stuffy but we left the window open and had no problems sleeping at all. There is a grocerystore right inside the mall which makes it super convienant if you need to pick up anything. They also have an onsite sauna, however, there was a men's and a women's so we opted out as we could not sit together. Breakfast was unbelievable. Everything from bacon and eggs to cold meat selections to cereal to fresh fruit. We have stayed at a lot of places and have never experienced such an elaborate variety for a breakfast buffet. The morning of our departure we had a wakeup call at 2:30 am as we had to take the night bus to central station. When we asked for the wakeup call we were asked if we wanted a to go breakfast which we could not believe. Check out was a breeze, and we were thanked for staying and handed 2 bags of goodies to go. The location is about a 10 min. subway ride to the center of Stockholm and a 1 min. walk from the Solna Centrum metro stop. The area was completly safe and because it was outside the center of Stockholm we found it to be much less expensive than trying to stay in the center. The service is outstanding at the Park Inn as they go above and beyond to see that you are taken care of. We would highly recommend.

We stayed on the hotel for a weekend break. The room was nice but even though we kept the window a little open through out our stay we still missed some fresh air and found the room a little warm.
The breakfast was great but a bit crowded.
We bought a 3-day travel card for public transport in the Airport and took the ordinairy train/bus from the airport. You can easily plan your travel on sl.se As destination try the stops "Solna centrum" or "Solna Norre" (the latter only open in in opening hours of the shopping center). Hotl reception is placed inside the shopping center.
Be sure to get an informaton card with both underground and bus lines. Especially in the period with construction work on the blue line.
I would have preferred to stay on a more centrally located hotel, but it is just too expensive if you want an hotel at at least this standard.

First of all i want to inform that the hotel is NOT in city center, the hotel is located in the suburb called Solna. Hotel is located inside a big shopping mall and its near (100 meter) from the metro station.
Ive been staying at this hotel many times and the rooms have always been clean and comfy.
Breakfast and food from the restaurant is really good and the car parking is located under the mall/hotel.
Staff is always helpful and friendly
