“First time in Greece”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

As a family this was our first experience of a holiday on a Greek island. We were not disappointed. From the initial booking (via Nat West with discount) the process of getting to the destination was faultless and stress free. On arrival we were greeted by a family member and shown to our apartment. We were self catering and found the facilities very basic but soon realised when visiting the many tavernas around the village that cooking for ourselves wasn't even an option. The apartment was spacious enough for the four of us with a pleasant outlook and close enough to the beach to hear the waves - very nice! Life centred around the lovely pool on a daily basis with frequent visits to the local beaches as an alternative. The pool bar was a great attraction, particularly in the evening where the host family comprising Alex and Nikos provided a great service, good conversation and comical entertainment. The Greek dance night was fantastic fun and shouldn't be missed. Local shops including a supermarket are great to visit as well as the local tour operators ( far less expensive than Thomas Cook!). A great place as abase to hire a car and explore the island. We spent to long weeks relaxed and well looked after by the hosts and local alike. We'll be back!

We spent 11 nights at Eriva & enjoyed every single moment. The Eriva Family are so welcoming & have a great sense of humour! They really do work hard to ensure you have everything you need. The apartments are basic, but spotlessly clean, with towels & linen changed every other day. Our room (55) had a fantastic sea view. The pool area is also spotless. The meals from the pool bar are extremely good value & deliciously home cooked, & drinks are also very reasonably priced. You are not allowed to take your own food/drink to the pool due to Greek fiscal law. Alex & Nikos kept us entertained at the bar, & always have time to chat to you. All the staff are welcoming & you really do feel at home & immediately relaxed! The Eriva entertainment is great & the Greek night is authentic & we thoroughly enjoyed getting involved! The village is a short 5 minute walk, with plenty of shops, bars & restaurants. The pebbly beach is literally at the end of hotel drive (about 200m), turn right & visit Faros for great food, & Fuego for a fantastically cool drinks bars (& regular all night beach parties!). If you prefer sand, Roda beach is a 20 minute stroll. We booked Aqualand trip through NSK travel in Roda (opposite Pirates Bar) & saved about 12 euros each on our travel rep prices. We are already trying to persuade the rest of the family to come back with us next year! Efharisto Polee Eriva for a brilliant family holiday! X

We have visited Corfu many times but this year was the first time we have stayed at the Eriva and I have to say I would have no problem in recommending it to any one. The apts were spotless and as mentioned in other reviews the staff were first class. The only thing I would say that the apts seem to be a little tired, they could do with a little bit of updating, but nothing to stop us staying there again. Can very highly recommend the taverna on the front called Alex's. Food first class, service spot on and a sunset to die for. If you need a car go see Sue at Castaway Travel. Top of the road, turn left and its located about 50 yds past the roundabout on the left. Best deals in Acharavi. If you get a car get yourselves to the Donkey Rescue Center near Paliocastritsa and see what a great job they are doing, This year we went with friends who were Corfu first timers. I can tell you they will be back as will we. Eriva apts, Acharavi, JUST THE JOB.

Room Tip: Try not to get one overlooking the pool, The best ones are to the rear of the reception.

We have just come back from a holiday at the Eriva Hotel in Acharavi. The hotel is clean well kept and the rooms are cleaned regularly during your stay. The staff behind the bar were very friendly and the food they served in the snack bar was brilliant (especially the cooked breakfast). The family and staff really look after their guests and nothing is too much trouble. We would happily go again. The resort itself is all within walking distance whether you wish to be on the sea front or the high street to the rear of the hotel. Would definitely recommend Woody's, The Navigator, both on the seafront but also the Acharavi Park and the Lemon garden on the high street for superb food. Hydropolis Water Park is well worth a visit for those who prefer a smaller type of waterpark perhaps with younger children. They have some big slides but not enough to keep teenagers busy all day. It is a fraction of the price of the bigger water park on the island and being on your doorstep it is still worth a visit. There is even a free mini bus that picks you up and drops you back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the sea. They are much quieter at night as they are the opposite side o...

Has a small kitchen. a bathroom. beds balcony and furniture a perfect basic room. and super clean.
The maids are lovely and dont give you an awkward look if your room as your partners clothes spread about.
The restaurant is by the pool and is ridiculously cheap, along with brilliant service. The food is really good as well, which makes paying a value price even more enjoyable.

There is more then enough sunbeds and plenty of umbrellas. located meters away from the beach and reasonably close to the main strip.
