“Not so good as awaited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We were in hotel for 8 days and all inclusive guests.
We liked the following:
+ beautiful hotel with big garden and flowers
+ very good meat with different kinds and fantastic desert, also a la carte (Italian, Asian, Cretan)
+ animation programm for adults and children, too
+ table tenis, minigolf
+ nice staff
+ big pool with salt water, another pools for children
+ life guard on the beach
+ spa & wellness center - but we didn´t use it
+ calm room

We weren´t satisfied with:
- the worst beach in Ammoudara with stones (due to big waves every day we had to visit beach part 500 m far away on right where sand was) - north side of Crete has almost always big ways because of wind
- not nice view from beach because of POWER PLANT on left side - only 500 m)
- no water in room fridge for all inclusive guests
- tenis for free just in hot time, in the suitable time it was closed for guest and during the night for payment due to needed lights
- payment for using fitness

Room Tip: rooms on west side are with power plant view :-(

After having flight delayed we were taken to this hotel by Thompson's. Initial inpressions of lobby area and resturant good. For those who got a room at this hotel , it would seem the room's were very basic and outdated. We did not get to stay as they ran out of rooms before me and my partner were booked in :-/ (not a good end to our honeymoon).

We came as a family (3 persons) with our 13 year old son. We had a double room in the bungalows with additional bed. It was not too big but as we spent the whole day at the beach or pool it was OK. Bathroom was Ok. Rooms were tidied up correctly every day.
The meals were really great. A lot of different things to eat. Fresh pancakes in the morning. We had All inclusive. - In the afternoon there was always ice cream and fresh sweet bakings.
The pool was with salt water and about 3 meteres deep at the deepest place. There was also a pool for small children with a slide and someone who was watching the children.
The whole surrounding of the hotel was like a little park. Lots of flowers and enough shady places.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoed this holiday very much.
Can't say anything about the spa, as we didn't have enough time for it. Looked very nice from outside.

Room Tip: If you want to have a overview you should take a room in the main bulding because there are more fl...

Excellent ... Mr and Mrs Wright
8 / 10
Mar 2012, Paul and Gwyn Wright
We visited the hotel in April 2010 and stayed in the main part of the hotel facing the garden.
It was an experience we will never forget, so much so that we have decided to visit again ths April (2012). The food was excellent, staff first class and the all inclusive drinks menu was quite extensive. Beer on tap right next to the pool so you can help yourself eliminating the need to queue.
The garden is very nice especially in the morning, there were many nooks and crannies wher you could hide and have your breakfast. The pool was clean and the restaurant choice is pretty good.
We visited the spa where we found the atmosphere to be quite tranquil, they had a reduced rate for treatments as it was the start of the season which was a bonus.
The entertainment team was ok and we took part in the football, bowls and other beach games. The hotel is not far from the main city where you can get a great coffee and a cake stand full of treats for five euros in a smart jazz themed cafe.
Bare in mind this is Greece so not everything in the hotel is spanking new however the areas you spend the most time in are very clean and modern and the cocktails are excellent.

Dirty and old aged hotel. Bad smell, bad food. Average beach. This hotel is under TUI best family hotels, what I don´t understand how it can be :)
Guests in main saison are from lower middle class - what means thei are fighting about children chicken meat and taking food with hands...
Hotel staff is trying to make it better but this resort needs change from the ground.

Room Tip: never take bungalow room!

We went here as a family of 14 persons, with a even mix of children and grownups.
For the children the place is perfect because of the beach, the pools and the variety in food and drinks.
For the grownups it is a very good place to stay, because it is very well organized, very friendly and hardworking staff, clean rooms and public spaces, good quality of food, and the location is great (close to heraklion, airport, mountains, etc).
