“Fantastic place~ Fantastic host!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We have 2 couples and a small dog, stayed at Il Lapillo for 3 nights~ itz so close to almost everywhere of Naples we wanted to visit~ and the host sent and picked 4 of us up from the nearest train station "Ercalano" or "via Liberta" everyday for free. They have a great great great view of Naples port from the balcony both during the day and night. We were so enjoying the view from the balcony~ We had all 3 night dinners here and ask Flavia to cook for us, bacause she is the best at cooking!!! Love you Flavia! Miss you already!! And she even managed to get us really good seefood from the morning seafood market with a reasonable price of huge amount of seefood!! We were enjoying it~ And she even baked cakes and biscuits and pie for the breakfast~ they are so..o delicious!! The last day, we needed to get up early around 5.30am and surprisingly, the host already prepared the breakfast and coffee for us~ because there is no such early train to Naples, they helped us to find a good driver to send us the central station of Naples with a reasonalbe price~ All in all, we were so enjoying staying here~ I'll bring my parents and other friend to Il Lapillo next time~p.s. They have a German Shepherd, which is well trained and good tempered~and our puppy enjoyed playing with him~ Highly recommended!!

We stayed at Il Lapillo for four nights and it was the perfect place to base ourselves for visiting Naples, Paestum, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and Caserta. Fulvio & Flavia were warm and friendly hosts, we couldn't speak Italian so sometimes their son or daughter had to help with translations, or we used Google translate, but everything turned out fine. The place is very clean, spacious and has all the amenities you'd need, including a fantastic bathroom, free wifi, kitchen and even a piano! Every morning we had a beautiful view of the city and Vesuvius while Flavia served us wonderful coffee with breakfast. She even helped us with laundry, or you could do it yourself as there's a line right outside one of the rooms. If you stay here I would highly recommend having dinner at the B&B at least once, for 10 euro each we got a bottle of wine, a first course of delicious spaghetti with tomatoes from Vesuvius, and a second course of traditional pork sausage, greens, and the most delicious meatballs I've ever tasted - plus fruit for dessert. If you're going to Naples Fulvio will drop you off and pick you up from the Portici train station, but if you're coming by car you will need to be wary of the Google map directions as I don't think they were very accurate - basically driving uphill it's on the left side of the road, along a driveway which has a shell of a house on it. If you see 6c you've gone too far, it's just the driveway before it. While this is not quite as convenient as staying in the middle of the city, it's perfect if you have a car and want to visit all the main sights in the region. Highly recommended.

We stayed at B&B IL Lapillo for four days and chose this place because of how close it was to both Pompeii, Vesuvius, and the Island of Capri. Fulvio offered us free pick up and drop off between the B&B and the train station which connects to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, and Sorrento asking only that you text or call when you are ready to be picked up (we bought a 5 euro phone card which worked at the station... texts cost ten cents). For 5 euros per person, Fulvio's wife cooked us an amazing dinner which we loved so much we asked her to cook three of our four nights. The first night they helped us get pizzas by calling them in and even picking them up for us. The room was in a separate part of the house (think duplex) with its own bathroom and kitchen. There are two B&B rooms in this section but the other one was empty for three of the for nights we were there. While Fulvio and Flavia could not speak much English, their sons and daughter helped translate much of the time. When they were not there, (website hidden) translate sufficed. On top of how amazing Fulvio and Flavia were as hosts, their B&B is perched on the side of Mount Vesuvius which means they have a fantastic view of the bay where the sun sets right above Naples. In front of their house they have a large tomato garden which makes their view picturesque, especially when they served us dinner on the balcony. This made for a very nice, quiet stay. Overall, I don't know what we would have done in Naples without Fulvio, between the pick up service, homemade dinners, and general willingness to help us plan our activities each day, the family was joy to stay with. I would highly suggest it for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms in this B&B. Each is a terrific option, though one has bunked beds in a...
