We chose the place because it was part of a promotion package (that I got as a present). It turned to be a good choice.
To find the place is not very easy but with a route planner there is no issue. It's basically halfway up the Vesuvius vulcano, behind some small Napoli outskirt villages, along a small road. It's a large villa on a steep Vesuvius slope. The car can be parked on the safe hotel grounds, behind the fence surrounding the hotel.
We had a lovely welcome from the lady who runs the hotel and her huge white very friendly dog. She is from Ukrain (if I remember correctly), very friendly and full of stories. :-)
We arrived at sunset and had a fantastic sunset view over Napoli and the bay.
We had a lovely room very nicely decorated, nice colors, great bed and with a huge balcony. Since we stayed only one night Im sure we did not enjoy all this to the fullest. Closing the room was very difficult and since all seemed super-safe we just didn't do it.
The dinner was freshly prepared, for a change not Italian but a some interesting combination of Ukranian and Italian ;-) It was good but too much to finish.
The breakfast was good and outside on the patio with a fantastic view over Napoli.
After breakfast we had a walk in the garden on the hill behind the hotel, still on the hotel villa grounds. There are two 'fumarole' in the garden: holes in the ground where sometimes smoke from the vulcano comes out. But not this time. It's these holes in the garden that give the hotel it's name ;-).
