“Good hotel1”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

The hotel is not located in the very center of the city but it has a quiest location and a great walking area,at 10-15 minutes away from the center of the town. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant of the hotel is ok,with various traditional or international dishes .
A good hotel holidays and relaxation!

This place was awesome, only stayed one night, we're there for less than 12 hours as it was a contiki stop. It was dark when we got there so we were feeling funny about what kinda town we were staying in but gosh this hotel was awesome. Pool looked very cool. Rooms were amazing. Breakfast was great. No complaints at all

positive: excellent service, clean and big rooms, quite area a little outside the town with excellent seaview, pool (just saw it, therefore I cant say anything more).
negatives: just at the cleaning at the balconies was average, but it really didn cause problems at all. Yes, you'd rather have a car to go to the city, but this provides you with quiet och calm afternoon hours.
Highly recommended! I expected much less, reading some of these reviews and was at last much positively surprised!!!

If you want to have the most unforgettable experience in Greece, you simply don’t miss the chance to stay at that hostel (actually in a hostel you can sometimes have much better accommodation and servicing).
The hotel is far from the town. You need to have a car or a taxi. Of course, you could walk to downtown , but you risk to be crashed by a car or to have the chance to try your swimming abilities in order to avoid being crashed. There are no pavements suitable for pedestrians.
Half of the rooms view the water pool and the terrace where the dinner is served and sometimes live music is played. The other half have the “magnificent” view to the town ring-road, i.e. there is not a single room where you could have some peace and quiet during your stay.
Certainly you could close thick the balcony doors and drop the curtains, and rely on the central air conditioning of the hotel, unless water closet smell in the room bothers you. The paradox was that the very bathroom didn’t smell bad. But to compensate this, there were evident traces left from the previous accommodators on and around the toilet.
It could be worse, though. From what I could see the hotel is visited mainly by organized groups of tourists. But when there is a kids’ camp staying there, you could have the remarkable experience to be given a room on the same floor. Then you just won’t have a wink during the night because of the endless knocking, slamming doors, screaming, running, shouting, giggling, etc, etc, etc…
There was wi-fi in the hotel lobby and it costs 1 euro/24 hours. However, the problem was that the signal was so bad that you could not actually load any web page.
The dinner menu would insistantly include macaroni- boiled and poured with sauce, macaroni backed, macaroni with ham, macaroni with cheese- I haven’t heard that macaroni was some traditional local dish in Greece, but probably Margarona Hotel’ s management have different point of view.(i.e. something cheap and easy to cook) When you have prepaid dinner included you have no menu optional. There was no restaurant service available. Nor did the hotel staff looked capable of performing such.
The servicing was just out of the question. The idiots- waiters would take your dish before you have finished your meal, as if there were a timer they were following in order for you not to sit for too long on the table. They would take even your fork with the bit out of your mouth and would be extremely surprised to hear that OBVIOUSLY you have NOT finished eating. So when you wouldn’t grant them the chance to take away your dish under your nose, you would need to repeat at least twice the words “NOT FINISHED!”

At first sight when you enter to the hotel, the hotel and the hotel view are impressing. However staying in the hotel is average.
Cleanliness inside the room is average although the balcony cleaning was poor. If you're there for summer vacation there is no place to hang your wet garments in the balcony area.
One last thing is the variety of the breakfast. It can be improved with more variety when Greek cuisine is considered.
As mentioned if you stay for business it is fine to have a clean room and safe place. For holiday it is far from city centre on foot, you need to have a car. You can have a walk actually but the road is not suitable for pedastrian.
With improvement of cleanliness and b.fast it has potential to give better services for future.

I have stayed to this hotel 3 times, for 2-3 days at a time.
It is probably the best choice in Preveza if:
a) you get a front room (the view is splendid)
b) you have a car (it is located about 3 kilometers from the city)
c) you do not care about the staff being somewhat unprofessional or rude (I prefer not to interact with the staff)
d) you are given a good price (say < 80 Euros)

The location and the view among the most beautiful you can find. That's enough for me, but it may not be for some other people. The pool is something you will be using often. However, if you do not manage to get a front room, you will probably have a miserable time, and you 'd better stay elsewhere.

I guess this was a grandious hotel back in the days. Well that was maybe in the seventies. To me it seems nothing have been done in the hotel since then. It i somewhat remote if you don't have a car. To walk in the surroundings has to be regarded as dangerous due to lots and lots of stray dogs. The pool is clean, as one of few thing in this hotel.
