Easily accessible in the heart of Taiping so finding food is easier. The service is quite good and the reception is also friendly.

The room is quite spacious and clean and comfortable. No breakfast but I think it is good value for a stay in the heart of Taiping whether for business or leisure.

Wifi is a little bit slow if you need it for doing business.

Walls are not concrete wall but gypsum board partition. Sometimes you may hear the occupants next door singing or knock on something loud and clear. Sound-proofing is not so good though.

At 1st i plan to stay at the Flemington but change it last minute due to recommendation from tripadvisor. As for location, Legend Inn is located at the centre of the town which is good. Flemington is more suitable for relaxing as the location is at the lakeside. Legend Inn might be an old hotel but well manage. The room is spacious which is very comfortable. For me everything is ok i certainly will repeat my stay here. The staff are friendly & helpful. I arrived early around 12pm and they let me check in as soon as possible. The check in goes very smooth. I recommend this hotel to everyone. But maybe not for anyone who really fussy & expect 3 star hotel in a small town to be like Double Tree by Hilton. Enjoy your stay..coz i already enjoy mine.. ;-)

We stayed at the Hotel Flemington last year and enjoyed it, but this year wanted a more central location. Legend Inn certainly offers that. You can walk to most places and easily catch a taxi to others (finding a taxi near Flemington can be a challenge). I really like Taiping--very laid-back with lots of great cheap food and friendly people.

As for Legend Inn, it has seen better days. Rooms are huge but pretty bare. One chair in a family room? Stained walls reveal where furniture used to reside, but only ragged carpet now remains. It's nice to have a fridge, but it sits on the carpet in a corner. Strange. If you plan on spending most of your visit out...visiting...then LI should be okay. It's affordable, but has certainly seen better days.

I paid RM 165 for a single family room for 4 and was shocked at the huge size of the room and all the freebies we got at the price. There was bottled water and coffee for 4, a large flat-screen LCD, soap, shampoo, huge closet, laundry bags, stationery pad and envelopes. They told us at reception that there were double beds but when we got into the rooms, they were two KING-SIZED beds!

The room was spotlessly clean and the TV was attached to a vertical panel by the wall that had backlighting--very tasteful. There was a great view of the mountains out the window too. It was so great we decided to book a second night to explore Taiping further and go home a day late.

The only complaint I had was that all the windows all had a narrow slit on one side and there was almost zero soundproofing from the noise outside (Legend is located in a very busy downtown area).

But despite this, we all loved this hotel and will definitely go back.

Stayed here last year June with my family. Can't really remember how much we paid but it was peak period and it was around RM100. Must say it is pretty reasonable for a city ctr Hotel. We didn't have a reservation and the hotel reception was very helpful & check-in was a breeze. The rooms & bathroom was very clean...and that is our #1 priority in booking any hotel. The room was very spacious with a nice big comfortable bed. Our room had no view to scream about though.
The next day we requested for a late checkout as we wanted to continue our sightseeing & wanted to freshen up before we head back home and they were very obliging.
This hotel is in a very good location..the Causal Market is walking distance....this is where you get all the hawker style yummy food. There are many shops and a supermarket nearby too. So no chance you would go to bed hungry :-)
All other tourist attractions are a short drive away. Would definitely stay here again.

I was about to stay at Flemington, but the hotel is quite far from the city central. Legend Inn is a one of the oldest hotel in Taiping, although there were many newest hotels in Taiping, Legend Inn is the most well-placed hotel.. the location is superb, near street hawkers, seven eleven, train station, bus terminal, hospital and banks. The room is super-big but the furniture were kinda old and it gave you a "scary" feeling when first time enter the room. The bathroom was also very comfortable with its large shower and closet.
