“Just Go !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2011

No praise is high enough for Aeollos.
Themi and
Rita can't do enough for you and are so welcoming.
Gerri and Ioanna in the bar are just wonderful, their service, happy smiles and sense of fun made the holiday for us.
No more to say. JUST GO !!
We'll be back, that's for sure.

we have been going to Aeollos for many years and Rita and Themis and team were brilliant as usual . The updates they have made to the apartments (new flatscreen tv,s kitchen refits etc) have improved on the already top notch standard. I am confused to hear that First Choice have decided to not offer a contract for next year as this is the best hotel in Pefkohori . I will be emailing First Choice to ask why they are not going with Aeollos when it receives top scores and many people return several times as seem from reviews below

Room Tip: all the rooms are good so no problems

On getting to Aeollos, Themi takes you straight into bar for a welcome shot and individual takes you to your rooms. This is a very personal touch and was very welcoming, although we had not been able to book a 1 bed apartment (as there was 3 adults), this is want Themi gave us. It was spotless, very large and had everything you wanted, including flat screen TV with DVD player. The kitchen & bathroom were well equipped, the only slight downside is that the air con unit in our apartment was only in the lounge area, so the seperate bedroom didn't get the full effect of the air con but if you leave the door open this soon brought the temp down in the bedroom.

They have a free pool table in the bar and there never seems to be a short supply of people willing to play, they put on different evening entertainment but it is never too intrusive if you just want a quiet drink.

Themi, his family and the other staff were all fantanstic, they couldn't do enough for you and they were always very welcoming. We had booked B&B through first chocie and expected the usual Buffet self serve breakfast that we had everywhere else Wrong! They actually let us choose what we wanted off the menu and they freshly prepared it and if you wanted something different they would accommodate this as well. Could not find fault with this, the food was always well cooked/prepared and was hot.

As I have said before, we could not find fault with these apartments, they are close to beach, bakery is just at the top of the road etc, everything was just as you would want. Would recommend to anyone.

We have been going to Halkidiki for 26 years and stayed in many hotels. Pefkohori for 16 years and i must say Aeollos is the best hotel we have stayed in. Rita & Themis Can't do enough & nothing is too much trouble. We are going back again in August. ( Can't wait )

The hotel is clean and the room is comfortable. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water, a powerful shower with a shower curtain!!! Good for Greece! The kitchen was equipped with basic utensils but it had a microwave and toaster. A large fridge. The hotel is spotlessly clean and it is plain the owners take pride in making it a lovely environment for its guests. We were greeted with a 'shot', the first of many! Although we mainly ate out we did have the weekly BBQ at the hotel which was lovely. The food looked good and was good value.
The beach is a 2 minute walk away. There are lots of restaurants and bars along the beach front. We found it quiet, evenings spent people watching!!! If you drink in the bar/restaurant then the sunbeds are free to use and we did not feel pressured to constantly buy drinks/food.
I would go back to the hotel but maybe hire a car or scooter and get out and about but this was a mother/daughter chill out beach holiday so I can't comment on what it's like in the surrounding area.

These hotel appartments are excellent, Rita and Themis are great hosts and provide everything you need during your stay, nothing is any trouble to them they are available 24/7 as they live in the house next door. The food is great we have never eaten in so many times during a holiday. The place is a stones throw from the beach / prominade the village has all the aminities you need and as its a "greek" holiday resort its much less commercialised than the neighbouring cosmapolitan Hanioti just a 40 min stroll away.(6-7 euro's by taxi) So you can have the best of both worlds. The Greek taverna and Pauls bar in the square are great places to eat and meet local people, ex-pats and the greek villagers alike. Can't wait to go back.

Visited Aeollos in August 2009 and enjoyed our time that much we decided to return again for the first week of the 2011 season - it was my birthday as well. The Aeollos is still run by the welcoming and friendly Themis & Rita (who welcomed us like long lost friends) in fact nothing has changed (including the price of the food and alcohol). Well I say nothing? Unless you count the totally refurbished apartments the new flat screen tv's in every room, the internet access, the new fridges, refurbished kitchen areas - it was very good in 2009 but it has actually improved.

Rita and Themis realised from my passport that my birthday was whilst I was staying with them and surprised me with a birthday cake, cocktails and champagne (all on the house). Now you don't get that treatnment at many places (if any?)

Right now for the important thing The Aeollos is now with First Choice (not Thomas Cook) and you fly on a Thomsons flight (so for those frequent returnees visit the First Choice website and away you go), You can also book independently but I found the flights/transfer etc was cheaper as a package with First Choice.

For some reason British Travel Companies are pulling out of Pefkohori and Halkidilki in general and with the advent of the scurge of All Inclusive the local businesses are suffering (personally I can't see any enjoyment in being stuck in a hotel for 7/14 days eating the same food day in day out and not venturing out because I would be missing out or not getting my moneys worth!!). Part of the reason for travel is to see/taste and experience the local way of life!! Lots of Serbs/Russians/Czechs are now visiting Halkidiki

Just read the reviews on this place (including mine from 2009) and you will find very few people have a bad word to say - I can't improve on my 2009 report. We are hoping to return again in September 2012 for the wife's birthday.
