“Amazing spot to spend a sunny afternoon!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

We spent a couple of afternoons here on a recent five-day trip. While we had to bike/drive from Little Tub harbour, it was worth the mini-trek. The patio is amazing. And the food and service were pretty good.

“Nice view and good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We stopped at Bootleggers Cove on our way back from the lighthouse for a quick bite to eat. The Patio is very nice with a great view. The drinks were cold and the food was good. I found that the food took a little longer to come out then I would have wanted. The Wings were good, as were the Fried Pickles. i would come again just to sit on the patio.

“Over-rated, over-priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Our first meal of our holiday was at the Bootlegger, and it was a bit disappointing as well as trying to be more than it really is. The food is pricey for "pub" fare. Loud Americans talking so everyone can hear their conversation doesn't make for pleasant dining - especially out on the deck. We're there for the view, the food and to enjoy the downtime at Tobermory, not to have to listen to some loud-mouth American spouting off his political views.... Nevertheless, the beer selection is not bad, but a better dark beer would be recommended. As a cider drinker, I was shocked when my cider arrived with ice and a straw in the glass! What are they thinking? Cider is to be consumed at celler temperature without ice, or else the ice dilutes the great flavour. They need to talk to proper cider makers - the Brits! Thankfully, the waitress took the ice out of the cider and I removed the straw!
We ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a salad and the hamburger with chips. The pulled pork was very good, salad was fresh. The hamburger was nothing special and rather overpriced for what you get. The chips were average.
The waitress was pleasant, and obviously was a regular there, as she knew many of the clientele.
If the weather is good, the deck is a nice place to sit and enjoy the view, but do try to avoid the loud Americans with their narrow-minded conservative opinions.

“Would recommend to people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Ever paid for overpriced Mac & cheese? Go to the bootlegger! Overpriced but we enjoyed ourselves and the food was tasty. Nice setting right on the harbour. Our bill was not specific (gave prices but no items listed). Staff were friendly and accommodating to food allergies too!

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Friendly staff and great food. Patio overlooks the water. Everyone we asked where the nicest place is to eat and they all " this why we are here" the best in Tobermory.
