“Magical, Beautiful and SO Special!! GO!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

WE stayed for only one night in May. We had the top room with the large balcony overlooking the castle. It was just one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed! I was very sorry not to have stayed longer! Our bed was comfortable, the room spotless, and the bath (even though it was up a spiral stairway) was big, clean, super-new and elegantly designed. I told my husband that I want the designer of this hotel to fly to America and decorate my home! In the AM, we had breakfast in our room brought on a cart, fresh eggs from the local chickens, freshly baked breads and pastries and fruits! We didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back! The town is magical, the castle and the cathedral at the top of the town is worth a few hours of exploration and then relaxation around the castle grounds and town itself. There are great restaurants near to the hotel for lunch and dinner. The town is quiet and tranquil and gives you such a feeling of history and pride of the locals. If you are taking a tour of this part of Spain, you must stay at Alodia! The owner is very hands-on and involved in making your stay perfect!

Room Tip: take the big room, to the left at the top of the stairs....but, I saw them all, and they are all nic...

Alodia is a beautiful, magical hotel. The rooms are outstanding with every detail thought of. We stayed on the top floor with a balcony looking over the village and castle. The most comfortable beds we stayed in all holiday and the attention to detail was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent, fresh with a selction of sweet and savoury. The hosts could not do enough for us which made our stay very easy. If you are going to Alquazar this is definitely the place to stay. We will be coming back.

We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in with every detail in our room obviously given a lot of thought. Placed in the room was a small round table & 2 antique chairs in front of french doors with a view of the village. This is where we ate a delicious breakfast which was rolled into our room on a traymobile covered in white linen and everything on it again showed attention to detail. The village and countryside was one of the best we visited in Spain.

Thanks a lot! It is true that if something defines our small place are details, made by Marivi García, my mother and the heart of every single thing. We love to see that you apreciate her work as much as we do. See you soon!

We stayed for just a single night in one of the suites on the third level. Before we had even reached out room we were impressed: the house is tastefully and creatively decorated in such a way that from the moment you walk in, you feel at home.

The room itself was amazing. The bedroom and balcony looked out over breathtaking views of the town and surrounding national park. Breakfast was delivered to our room and was exceptional - fresh, delicous and beautifully presented.

We cannot wait to be back

The hotel Alodia was a great experience. The rooms and public areas are beautifully decorated and comfortable. We had a room on the second floor for the first two nights but were shown the suites on the third floor with an open balcony with great views over the beautiful village of Alquezar, which we upgraded to for the rest of our stay. We had a very good breakfast in our room every day. This is not a big corporate hotel with bars and restaurants in it, It is a very personal experience one I would recommend. There are great restaurants within walking distance. The village is one place not to be missed if you are travelling in this region of Spain.

Room Tip: The suites on the top floor are a must

First, if you go here be very clear on exactly where the Alodia is located within the town. The secret key is to find the hotel Santa Maria and travel up the street that is immediately to the left for about 100 feet and it's on right there on the left. Unfortunately, we found the old location which was closed after quite an adventure through the hills, stairs, and alleys of this cool ancient town. Everyone we asked pointed us to the old location. The problem is that they apparently have a new location, which has NO SIGN! Also, the lady who owns(?) the place and speaks good English was not there, but did her best to help via e-mail. The person who was there to greet us spoke no English, but she had a good atitude and we all managed. So we had to do a major attitude re-boot when we finally got there.

We stayed in the room at the top of the place called the Juncal which is a GREAT room with a world class view. We ordered their cheese and jamon spread to be brought up to the room, which took a while, but was well worth it. That spread was so good that I am sure to remember it for the rest of my life. The Alodia was great and I would recommend it to my friends. The only thing that I was disappointed in was how noisey it was in this town. We went off the beaten path in hopes of some tranquility. From the pictures, it looks like a sleepy town, but the noise carries and it's more lievely that you might expect. Especially, if you are just wanting to sit around a read a book on the deck. Still, the place itself was great.
