“Perfect Place to Relax and Enjoy Tropical Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We had been in Sri Lanka and we decided we should take this opportunity to hop over to the Maldives. This resort was a great choice, it was only a 30 minute boat trip from Male's International Airport. We were very impressed by the friendliness of all of the staff here who went out of their way to make guests feel at home. Although the resort is on a small Atoll there were lots of options for exploring and achieving the right mix of relaxation and adventure. We loved waking up to the beautiful clear waters of the Lagoon right outside our room. Rooms are Chalet style with loads of space and great outside bathroom facilities. We loved our showers while looking up beautiful starry skies. We were disappointed that it was difficult to hire snorkelling equipment for the day on any given day, it appears that these are reserved for snorkelling trips, which weren't even operating on two of our 3 days. The secret is to book in to a snorkelling trip and use the gear for the full day or bring you own snorkelling gear. Buying equipment is possible but very expensive. This is a great place to chill out and relax, whichever way you choose to do this it is all on the menu.

Room Tip: Try to get a chalet away from the reception and activity end of the resort to avoid loud music from...

We reached Male airport at 7.15 am, the hotel reps kept us wating for 2.5 hrs lying that there was high waves in the sea. Ultimately when all the flights arrived at 9.30 am which filled the 16 seats of the boat the high waves subsided. Hotel should understand that after an overnight journey with small kid, it is difficult to keep waiting and should not lie, instead would be happy to hear the truth.
After reaching the hotel, the reception charged me additional 35% of room rate for my 2 yr kid which was a violation of the cleartrip policy. The policy said child below 5 yrs sharing bed is free. So my initial expereince before checking was not at all good. We booked the all inclusive package. The food quality is very average and not tasty. The food is prepared for ~ 500 people, so it can never be good. 40% of the dishes are not even tochable, the food becomes extremely boring after 2 days. Break fast was good though. Some waiters are couretous and some not, some times to get a tissue we had to remind the waiter for 2-3 times.Drinks are very average and most of the cock tails mentioned in the menu are not available, reason they didn't had the ingrediants. The srilankan Lion beer was good.
We stayed in the beach bungalow, the rooms were average, can not call it 4 star. Some of the bathroom fittings were not working and the water from the shower doesn't flow uniformly. Moreover one night the power tripped in our room 2 times destroying our sleep. The electrician was quick to react.
The location of the resort is good, very clean beaches and good landscape.
Next time i will never take an all inclusive package and deal before hand on child policy as the hotel reps took me by surprise by citing that they do not abide by the expedia or clear trip policy , but go by their own. Overall i did not find the hospitality after spending so much money, i am willing to pay some extra $$ for better service and more customer friendly hotel.

We went to Hudhuranfushi the second time. The first time we went 1996 and it was
called Lhohifushi, ofcourse it has changed. Lhohifushi had a lot of beach but now
they have built the Dhodi bar and of course they have had to take some beach.
Also they have got the Lhohi Surf bar were you can surf.
We have been to over 20 Resorts starting the first time 1992.

This Resort is just very nice for that money, I think it is one of the cheap ones,
an of course you can not expect 6 stars when you only pay for 3 stars.
The food and the drinks were vey good, I was not to keen on the white wine
but that was no problem I had some red wine and that was very good.
Before we went I wrote a request for a room nr. 190-200. When we arrived we got
our key 110 near the reception and swimming pool, well before we said
anything ,we had a look at our room, the room we nice, very clean and the
we had a look at the beach, no very nice a lot of sea weed and some
old rosted big oil tins made like a flot. I told my husband come and look at
the rooms 190-200, so we had a look and thought they were better situated,
so I went to the reception and said I have a problem, our room is very nice
but the beach is not so nice, I asked if we could change, of course at the
moment we could not but in the eveining we could change. We changed
at 7.30 pm they fetched us with a golf buggy and took us to 197.
197 it not far to the beach bar I think 171 is very near the beach bar.
The food in the restaurant was also good (do not compare it with 5 ot six stars).
Otherwise you have to choose a different and more expensive Resort.
All the staff were polite and friendly.
Well we would go again to Hudhuranfushi.
The Ocean Villa look vey nice, If you want to take a photo, you only have
to ask at the reception and they take you with a golf buggy (you are not
allowed to go by yourself (there is a security man standing there)
We also had the grill evening under the stars with some live musik a couple from
the Phillipines. We would not do that again, the meat a bit tough we would
stay at the restaurant. But it was nice under the stars and palm trees.
So who ever should be going do not expect 5-6 stars.
Hudhuranfushi is cheap and vey good for the money.

Room Tip: 190-200 are vey nice

Holiday with my wife and 2 year kid, all inclusive package
Pros: 35 mins from airport , beautiful beach, good privacy and safe.
Cons: I arrived at 7.10 AM in male airport, the hotel representative made us wait for 2.5 hrs till 10 AM when the other flights arrived. They lied that the weather was bad to start the speed boat.
On checking in to the hotel i was charged additional 35% of room rate for my 2 year kid, my Expedia voucher stated that child below 5 yrs sharing bed is free.
Food: Break fast OK, The food is prepared for masses and never tasty. 30% of the food quality is very poor. Some Staff are very courteous and some not, some times you need to ask 2-3 times for a tissue paper. Specially the staff guarding the bridge to the ocean bungalows is rude, he doesn't even allow you to take a picture if you have not booked the water bungalow. One night the electricity tripped in our room 2 times, though the electrician came quickly to fix. Bathroom not to be rated as 4 star, some bathroom fittings were broken. The flow of water in the showers was not uniform. Drinks and choice of beverages were so so, not gr8. Most of the cocktails not available , but the hotel has kept lulling pictures in the menu card. The srilankan lion beer is good.
Conclusion: Next time i will not prefer to stay in this hotel after spending a fortune and not getting satisfaction. Advice to others is to take resort with customized food with better food quality and more courteous staff. I am prepared to spend a few $$ extra in some other resort.

Room Tip: Beach bunglows and water bunglows are good. Rooms from 250-170 are in good location, i stayed at 17...

I actually went in 2010 but it wouldn't allow me to select that. My wife and I went here for our Honeymoon, such a BEAUTIFUL location! The staff were great and the resort was stunning. I know they suffered in the Tsunami in 2004 and the hotel changed names and was refurbished after that so it's really done well to get back to it's beautiful self. I would definitely recommend the Ocean Villas as they are not only amazing they're also really private and high spec too! You get a butler who will take you to and from your meals and waits on you hand and foot. We also got a nice suprise, the bed was laid out with loads of petals and the same happened at dinner too!

Definitely go to the spa for a massage, they will make you feel super relaxed!

Room Tip: Go for the Ocean Villa if you can afford it, the rooms are nicer, you get lots of privacy too.

This is a long overdue review. We were at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi for our honeymoon on 8-13May2013 and this review are for those were are as fickle as I was , when coming to choosing a resort/hotel!! I googled almost all the Maldives resort and this was it!
The only concern was that the food variety was almost the same daily and apart from that, go book an ocean villa and have the best time of your life!! We did and we'll be back!!

Room Tip: Just spend that extra bucks and book an ocean villa, very worth it!!

The Island - totally fulfilling my expectations, ocean were crystal clear, abundant with fishes and water level were not too high to just walk out to the ocean. The beach fill with white fine sand. Island also has its own house reef and surfing area. Island has many activities such as wind surfing, canoeing, jet ski, diving and etc.
Accomodation - we booked a water villa, nice center unit (809) facing the sunset, give a beautiful view over the ocean. Ocean were pretty shallow around the villa, where normally is just above the knee however coral is not really that impressive. Fishes normally swim around the villa for the shade from sun.
Food - we are on an all inclusive meal package, where we think the food is pretty standard, not really alot of choices. Beverages can be taken from about 4 - 5 bars around the island. Inclusive of beer/wine/cocktails, etc. Not the best of taste but at least it keep you full :) Oh, they also have day to day special dinner menu such as beach buffer, couple private dining etc.. of course with extra charges.
Services - mostly all the staff around the island are pretty friendly and informative. We are attended by a PR officer,Sendil who gives us plenty of information and normally offer buggy ride to our villa. The workers around the island normally speaks english well, and and be friendly and could spark up conversations. We are very sastify with the service provided on the island.

We would like to visit the place again if we are ever coming back to maldives. :)

Room Tip: Rooms of water villa facing west can have beautiful sunset view, and less morning sun :) for late wa...
