“great location except for the wind”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

We had one of the two beach front bungalows (which are the pick of the lot) with a fantastic view. Unfortuneately, the wind blew all the time, which spoiled snorkelling a bit. There is a plastic blind that pulls down so that we could sit on the porch to eat and be out of the wind. The very small garden is lovely. Cooking facilities consisted only of a microwave, and we had to carry all the food out to the table outside; prepare, and then return everything back to the fridge and then eat. So a little awkward. Room small and humble, but cleaned every day with nice fresh towells. the highpoints were seeing some eagle rays feeding, and a moray eel - near the over water bungalows of the Intercontinental

Room Tip: Get the beach front

“Excellent option for a small budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

This pension has gotten a number of very positive reviews on this site, and my wife and I would like to echo them. The owner Jacque is one fine friendly guy and the property is kept in good condition. The two units on the water are the best, but the others are just stumbling distance from the beach(es). Dining options are a bit limited (unless you have a car) but several offer free pickup and return.

Room Tip: If this some special occasion for you, let Jacque know beforehand. It was our 50th Wedding Anniversa...

“Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

A friend of ours in Bora Bora helped us book our stay at Village Temanuata - a stay we enjoyed so much that we extended it! Because we knew a local, the manager gave us a good rate on the room - which was amazing! We found her to be very helpful - giving us bikes for the whole day instead of half and helping us find out how to book flights, along with just being very friendly during our whole stay.

The room itself slept five, though there were only four of us, and we found it to be perfect. Very clean, a lovely covered deck outside to eat on, comfortable beds and a huge shower. The bungalows are built in a traditional style but have all mod cons inside - kitchen, good bathroom and ceiling fans to keep cool. We were never uncomfortably hot which was great.

The location of the pension is perfect - it is located right beside Matira beach, the largest public beach on the island and a brilliant one to sit and watch the sunset. The pension also has a small private beach on the other side of the peninsula which has fabulous snorkeling just meters off the beach. We saw tons of fish, which are everywhere, but also saw octopus and even an Eagle Ray! There is a shop directly across the road which offers internet service and a bar/restaurant right next door with a pool in the bar! There a few other restaurants in walking distance - our favourite was Le Bounty, just five minutes walk away.

All in all, a great place to stay and definitely somewhere we would stay again.

Room Tip: If you have small children, ask for one on the left, away from the back of the bar next door as ther...

“Lovely pension, our room was on the beachfront”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012 via mobile

Great pension on the beachfront, the manager was really helpful especially with accommodating us in another pension so we could shower and change after our checkout time.
