“Hope that you don't get caught there in the rain”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We booked into the Innaminkca hotel when we were in Birdsville and the quoted us $170 for a double room in the bunk house. The rains came down and everyone wanted a room for the night and they just kept on jacking up the price for weary and muddy travelers. When we booked out that wanted to charge us $190! Food at the pub is pretty good

Room Tip: Don't book in the bunk house. They have very nice hotel rooms.

After travelling all day we were looking forward to a good meal, shower and comfy bed. Unfortunately, we found this hotel to be rather overpriced and have a lack of customer service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the generators - noisy!

Innamincka has a Hotel/Pub and a Petrol station/Store that runs the caravan park and accomodation side. Stayed two nights and used it as the base for the Dig Tree and roaming along the Cooper which was magical My regret is that the coongie lakes were closed so may have to go back.. Rooms were basic, clean and showers good but expensive by peer stanbdards..
The Pub / Restaurant which i gather is owned and operated seperately was a treat. Friendly helpful staff, excellent food and a good time..

A welcome and comfy resting stop at the end of an interest packed day "on the track", and the ideal resting place before heading out to "The Dig Tree".
An early morning stroll around the settlement and a read of the public "notice and information" display, helps you realize the important role Innamincka played in the development and history of this area.
Sadly the "Dig Tree" reserve has had to be modified and developed to protect the several "landmarks" of history, and unique memorials to the Burke and Wills expedition. Despite this though, it truly was humbling to stand in the area immediately adjacent to where these true adventurers made such an indelible mark on Australia's advancing inland discoveries.

Innamincka is a great place to stop along the way during your trip in the Aus Desert. Great to fuel up and have a shower at the ones provided there. ($4 approx for a nice hot shower (bore water though), which is a great feeling after a week or so in the desert without one).
You can stop here to fuel up and grab something to eat, and maybe have a few drinks along the way.
Great place to stop to re-fuel, re-load and head out to a nearby campsite.

Innamincka has a Hotel/Pub and a Fuel Station. We've stayed three nights at the Innamincka Hotel and used it as base for our trips to Coongie Lakes and the Dig Tree. The rooms are fairly new and are very clean (+ good service). The water comes directly from the bore and looks a bit muddy, but there is filtered water available in the laundry. Room rates are $150 a night, which we found a bit pricey, but eventually justified given the remoteness of the location. Pub / Restaurant offer a variety of meals and have a huge selection of beers.
