“two night stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

we stayed two nights in may have stayed at this hotel in the past standards have slipped we where greeted and told were our rooms were I do expect when you are arriving that your bags are delivered to your room especially when there is no lift and you have to carry two large suitcases up two flights of stairs. The room was a double but seemed more like a single room with a double bed in it, the walls where so thin we could hear the room next door turning off their room lights I may add we where in the annexe. Breakfast was very nice but I do not expect to eat my breakfast with other guests still in their pyjamas and dressing gown maybe a sign asking people to dress fro breakfast would be an idea.

Room Tip: ask for a room in the old house

Have visited this restaurant/hotel on a few occasions and am going there again this Saturday.
Food is great and not over expensive, a good wine list, and the service is second to none.
Good English/French food and served by excellent waiters/waitresses.
Highly recommended.

I held my wedding reception here a few weeks ago,40 guests during the day and 60 at the evening . The sit down meal which was a three course meal was lovely, my husband was a bit concerned about the portion sizes but he had no need to worry as they where just right .The evening buffet was a mix of all sorts from open sandwiches to pasta .We also hired a chocolate fountain which was a hit with all the guests including the adults. Louise the hotel owner/manager was fantastic from start to finish and all her staff did a wonderful job . The bridle room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable , we had a few guest stay over night and they all said how clean and comfortable there room was. The breakfast the morning after was lovely, it consisted of cereal ,fruit and a full cooked breakfast ,you could even have porridge .
A big thank you to Louise and her Team for such a fantastic day .

We had our wedding reception here a few weeks ago . The hotel is well priced and in a good location with a smart garden.
We had a full sit down three course meal for the day and then a buffet for the evening , we also hired in a chocolate fountain.
The hotel is medium sized and for our wedding party, the size was adequate, we had 40 guests in the day and 60 altogether in the evening.
Louise who is the owner/manager and her staff were brilliant from start to finish, they were very thorough and professional . The food was very good, we were a worried that the food portions may have been a bit small, but they weren't , there was plenty on the plate.
The Honeymoon suite was very good and we were happy with that too, we also had family stopping in 6 rooms overnight for the wedding and they all said the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, there were no complaints.
The following morning we had breakfast , there was plenty of choice on the menu , cereal, fruit , yogurts etc , then a cooked breakfast, there was also porridge which you could order.
I would recommend The Heath Cottage Hotel for a wedding venue or any function , many thanks Louise for a wonderful day filled with great memories.

I was recently a guest here at a wedding reception for 20 people. The small, pretty garden was ideal for photographs and the room we were in was nice and airy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our meal was very nice.

stayed here for one night and found the outside look lovely , nice entrance hall , lovely deco,. Bedroom nice and tidy , comfy bed and even an ironing board and iron available,
the on suit was ok , could do with a little TLC as the tiles need looking at at the bottom , and shower head looks a little dated .
Breakfast was full and hearty and enjoyable,
Manager was friendly and the staff helpful.
A lovely hotel which is good for the money ,

We stayed there 22nd and 23rd February. To say I was disappointed with the room would be a under statement. It was drab tired and not very clean. The shower was good but when trying to turn it off it was near impossible. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I was informed that the Hotel has just been bought and plans were in place to upgrade the rooms something that really needs top priority I thought. Wouldn't stay there again but might have a look next time I'm in the area to see if planned improvements were carried out.
