What a nice surprise this hotel was. The sphere capture in the right way by the owners. When entering through the doors you feel that this hotel has some history which is well kept by the curent owners. Which both are well aware what being host means. Rooms comfortable. The city garden as you want that a city garden is. Also a nice place to sit and take a drink.
Breakfast was very nice and a good start of our biking day. A place you should stay when you are in Astorga.

We stayed at this little hotel as part of a tour of north Spain. Our huge room on two levels was just a few steps from reception but it was so quiet. Being an old building the rooms had small windows with shutters so it was comfortable despite the warmth outside. There was a great atmosphere that you don't often find nowadays; definitely worth another visit!

Stayed 3 nights. Beautiful building and a lovely room but that was as good as it gets.
Firstly had problems finding the hotel through the maze of one-way and pedestrianised streets.Eventually parked near a street map and walked to the hotel only to find we could not get in (14.45). Door eventually opened by a cleaner who was able to establish our reservation but was clearly not a driver as she did not have a clue as to how I could drive to the hotel. Day was saved when the receptionist turned up with her partner who came with me and helped me find the way in.
Every day, despite there being a receptionst sometimes on duty the front door was locked. It was a nuisance having to wait for someone to come, although on nights the door was always open!!
The breakfast at 10 euros was a complete rip-off. Fresh orange juice and coffee being the highlight. There was only some stale slices of bread next to the toaster, a VERY small selection of meats and cheeses, butter, jam, packet cakes and under-ripe fruit. Fortunately there are plenty of cafes close by.
The hotel in its lovely court-yard has a drinks selecetion with an honesty policy where you write your name and usage down. Sounds great but the stocks were never replenished and on our last night there were only 2 clean glasses available.
Such a pity as Astorga is a lovely small town

Room Tip: Good restaurants just across the road

We stayed in the Napoleon Suite and loved the classy decor and luxury and the view over the courtyard with the fountain tinkling below. The hotel has an inner courtyard where it is wonderful to sit and have a drink (you can help yourself from the honesty bar) in the cool shade. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Just a minute or two from the cathedral and the plazas. Astorga is a very friendly, compact town with fine views from the walls.

We spent one night here. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and it represented good value for money. The only slight downside was having to ring the bell everytime you wanted to enter the hotel, you never felt like you were free to come and go as you pleased. Otherwise our stay was lovely and we would stay here again.
