“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We stayed here for one night 'en route'.
We received the nicest greeting from the owner who seemed to never stop smiling.
Our room was large with a lovely shower-room which had been recently refurbished.
Nice balcony looking over the rear garden.
The room had small kitchenette which would be fine if you did not want the expense of eating out.
Breakfast was very nice on the rear terrace.
The pool, which we did not use, looked lovely.
There is no restaurant but there are plenty within 10 minutes walk.
We stayed in august on friday night there was night market which was packed with tourists.

Hotel was all we could ask for at the rate charged. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Room clean with all you could need. Breakfast excellent although at 9 euros, it should be.
Lovely pool and grounds and large free car park.
Stayed for 6 nights and could well return

We have visited the place without driving a car. Although this makes our journey more difficult than it should be, it offers us the chance to experience the kindness and gentleness of the people in Gréoux-les-Bains, and particularly in Lou Paradou.

There is only one bus (ligne 27) from Aix-en-provence TGV station to Gréoux-les-Bains at 14:30. It operates daily apart from Sundays and public holidays. After 1.5 hours, we arrived at the town of Gréoux-les-Bains.

There was a direction sign for Lou Paradou, but that was for the car and NOT FOR PEDESTRIANS. It caused some confusions and therefore we had to seek direction from people in town. The friendliness of the people was beyond our expectation. One of the passer-bys even drove his car around to give us a lift to Lou Paradou.

The day we arrived was a Saturday, and we have planned to leave the town the following day. The host has helped us to plan our trip to the lavender field and our return journey on Sunday. As I have previously mentioned, there was no bus service on Sundays, and the lavender fields are beyond walking distance, the host kindly offered to drive us to the field than to Manosque to take the bus back to Aix-en-provence. This enabled to get the most out of the really short time of stay and we will definitely return in the future to explore the fully bloomed lavender fields and perhaps to try the mineral spa.

Apart from the people, Lou Paradou is also an excellent place to stay at. The room we have stayed in was a studio. There was a door straight to the back garden, which was a large green field with a large swimming pool. The place also offered traditional french breakfast and of course you can choose to cook for yourself in your own kitchen. There were microwaves and ironing boards in the corridors for residents to use. In addition there was a good selection of local wine at a reasonable price.

We stayed at Lou Paradou for one night in June as we were travelling through France to Nice. We had left looking for accommodation until late in the afternoon and had then been thwarted by a lack of hotels or hotels being full due to events in the area. Greoux-les-Bains was recommended as a town that had a selection of hotels and we came upon Lou Paradou first at 20.15 ! You can imagine our delight when we were told there was a room for us! We were even more delighted by the following morning when we reflected on our lucky find. From the welcome that we got from the lady owner to the excellent service at breakfast - everything transpired to make us feel at home. We had a fantastic night's sleep in a very comfortable, large bed and the best breakfast since arriving in France the week before. The accommodation has been well described in previous reviews - we didn't read these until we had left the property - nice, clean and everything you need. Certainly suitable for a longer stay, especially with the cooking facilities and spacious eating area. The pool looked inviting but we did not have time to try it! As other reviewers have said, would highly recommend this hotel, which has the advantage of being in a quiet area and has plenty of parking.

We stayed at Lou Paradou for one night in November while travelling from the south of France to Lyon. The room (a standard studio) was clean, pleasant and had access to the grounds and pool. As described by others the room had a good sized fridge and a basic kitchen.

The property is clearly designed for longer stays in the summer. The town is close to the Verdun Gorge (a must see area) and is a good base for the area. There are number of restaurants in the town which is within easy walking distance from Lou Paradou. As it was off season we were able to book though Booking.com for just over 50 € per night. At that price it was very good value.

Breakfast was served in a large lounge area and was a basic continental breakfast. Not as good as may we have enjoyed in 2 and 3 star hotels in France and certainly not worth 11 € per person. For a longer stay you could self-cater and there is always the option of a local patisserie which we would recommend.

Overall we would recommend as a comfortable, clean and convenient hotel provided you can get a reasonable rate.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool.

We booked a "comfort room". It was nice, clean, well equipped even for a longer stay.
Located at the ground floor and the balcony opens to a huge lawn. Has a pool (we did not use).
Excellent attitude from the couple who owns the place.
Highly recommended for people visiting the area.
We used it for tours both to the Verdon area and to Aix en pvce etc.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a "comfort room" on the ground floor (a bit more expensive) but very well equip...

Based on the excellent reviews, I booked this hotel for a 4-night stay during Easter vacation. I booked a "studio confort", that is a 20 square meter studio with small kitchen. I liked the stay, and I would go there again.
However, I can't really rate this place "excellent", as there were a number of things which were _not_ excellent. But let's go through it point by point.
Let's start with the positive things:
This hotel is family run, and the owners do their best to make you spend a good time. The owners were very friendly and provided us with little services that make the difference, e.g. salt&pepper for the kitchen (which was well-equipped), our keeping the foodstuff in an extra fridge for half a day after we checked out. The 180cm bed was of good quality. I'm mentioning this because in France you can have bad surprises or you can even end up in a (tiny) french double bed. The center of the village, providing small grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants, can be easily reached by foot from the hotel.
The not so positive things:
The heating/air conditioning machine is quite noisy. As the landlady explained us, in this particular setup the engine is located inside the rooms and not outside. This can be quite annoying, as we had to leave it running during the night for heating purposes. (During summer, you will also certainly want to have the A/C running during the night). The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, but apparently they were not vacuumed.
Finally, the rooms classes itself with two stars, and you shouldn't expect everything to be new and shiny: the furniture is a bit aged and worn. (The TV set, though, was new and of good quality)
We didn't take breakfast at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. The off-season room prices are certainly a good value, I probably wouldn't pay the high season price (~130 EUR/night) for this place.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room on the ground floor facing the park/garden, i.e. the balcony is not fenced but d...
