“A regional restaurant at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

A wonderful regional restaurant reflecting the atmosphere, cuisine, hospitality and scenery of the area. The wine tasting and dining is an integrated experience. The white wines and food is really excellent. All this and reasonably priced as well.

This is a popular place and a reservation is recommended for weekends and peak holiday periods.

“Worth a vistit (or more...)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

We had a very nice lunch yesterday. My wife had the yellow tail and I had the gourmet burger.
Nicely presented with a good service.
The wines they produce must not been forgotten to complete the lunch.
Four years ago the shed was converted into a restaurant/tasting area. Pictures can be seen at the entrance. They did a very good job.
Menu what is available for the day is written on a blackboard. We certainly will come back and recommend it to our friends.
Also worth mentioning is the Nuwejaars Wetland Special Management Area project. It is a formally recognized area in which priovate landowners collaborate in collectively managing their land to ensure environmental, social and economic sustainable development and biodiversity conservation.

“Great Food in a Wonderful Setting with Glorious Views of the Overberg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

This was our third visit to Black Oystercatcher and we were "squeezed in" on a particularly busy Saturday lunchtime. The atmosphere was happy and welcoming in this wine-tasting come gastronomic eatery. Dirk is a great host, flitting between tables and the wine-tasting bar whilst Sandra works wonders in the kitchen producing exquisite and interesting dishes. We look forward to returning for our fourth visit!
