“We will never forget this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We have spent the most important time of our lives here, our wedding, in an atmosphere of nature, peace and beauty.
First we'd like to thank the lovely team of Villa Podernovo, who have given us such a friendly and warm welcome and supported us in everything to have the time of our lives. They were so supportive and hilarious regarding the organisation of our wedding. You can be sure, the team will do anything to keep your head free of any wedding stress.
The apartements of the villa are lovely, tradtional but still comforting, the surrounding trees and woods are beautiful and the pool is clean and has granted us and all our friends an amazing and refreshing time. In fact nobody wanted to leave this place.
We will never forget these days and we will not forget you.
Hope to see you again!

We were glad to have found that place to celebrate our wedding. Already from the first contact with Diana we felt confident to get the best support during all preparations already months before the wedding day - from sorting out all decorations, food and drinks to all the little details which make a difference in the end, Diana and her team are well experienced hosts who made our day just as we have imagined it to become.

We booked all rooms for our family & friends and everybody was amazed by the atmosphere of the rooms and the whole whole property - overall a beautiful setting for any occasion with a true touch of Toscany.

Everybody enjoyed the extensive breakfast - fresh cakes, homemade jogurts and fresh pressed juices can be found on the buffet.

we definately can recommend Villa Podernovo to everybody - either for your own big day or even just to drop in for a few days of B&B and check out the surrounding.

I stayed at Podernovo with a group of 16 people for 5 days. It was AMAZING - the place is fantastic and Diana & Tito and their crew is very very caring. I am definitely coming back to Podernovo. Thomas

We spent a lot of time reviewing villas in Tuscany to meet our holiday requirements. We wanted a place that was very handy to a local village (so as not to drive after sampling lovely Italian wine), had to have a lovely swimming pool, and that beautiful, old style rustic feel. Villa Podernovo met all of our requirements. The village is certainly not touristy but has a nice restaurant, supermarket and excellent wine shop with a very knowledgeable and friendly host/owner. Unfortunately we were there during the coldest May in 80 years and did not get to enjoy the swimming pool. We stayed in the Mansarda apartment in the attic which was very lovely with stone floors, a great bathroom and adequate cooking facilities. After travelling for 2 weeks we really enjoyed being able to cook our own food. Due to the unseasonal weather the apartment was a little cold initially, however when we asked to get the heating turned on, it was not a problem. From that experience it seemed that if you needed anything, you only needed to ask and it wasn't a problem. The setting is very romantic and we would love to return.

I spent a long time researching to find a villa for 18 people to celebrate my 40th. If you are looking for a beautiful space that is large enough for people to have their own space but intimate enough to come together in a large group setting - this is the Villa for you. There are so many options for eating and drinking together and the SPACE was fantastic. The villa is better than the website. As soon as we arrived we had that WOW feeling and everyone of the guests felt exactly the same way. Its a special place run by people who know what you want and know how to make it happen. Afternoons by the pool, the smell of lavender, sunsets, cooking and eating together.... The small village is in walking distance, non touristy and provides a great contrast to the hustle of Sienna and Firenze. Here you get to do everything, the major towns and the small village life. The butcher in the village was fantastic as were the small bars and coffee shops. The food at the villa was very good. The table settings were beautiful as well. I recommend mixing it up - cooking yourself and getting the villa to cook. You won't be dissapointed this is good value for 18 and highly memorable.

We where there 3 days in June and we loved it. The whole complex was in great shape and the room was superb. The road from Rome to there was long but it was worth it.
Unfortunately the weather was cold but we'll return :)

Villa Podernovo was the location for the best week of my life in June last year– my wedding. We were married in the nearby medieval chapel at San Galgano. We hired the whole house to stay in, had our wedding breakfast under the tree and then danced long into the night/following morning – Glorious!

The day before Diana organised for us to tour an amazing vineyard and there was a round of golf for the men. The day after everyone had a wonderful time around the pool before heading into the village for drinks and food. Even now, six months later our guests tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to and many are considering getting married abroad as a result.

Diana and her team helped us to arrange every aspect of the wedding. She has amazing taste and provided me with faultless suppliers.

The villa is beautiful, authentic and rustic, set just outside a tiny rural Italian village. It’s not at all touristy so stick to Chianti and Florence if this is the aim of your holiday. But if you prefer to immerse yourself in rural Italy, walk down dusty roads and spot fireflies on your evening walks home from the pizza restaurants and the bar in the village, then this is the place for you.

Our party was made up of lots of high achieving, stressed out people who loved the lack of TVs and wifi in the rooms (there is wifi in the breakfast area if you really can’t put your work down) Instead we all enjoyed the time reading, playing games and generally relaxing. Dozing around the wonderful pool and in the hammocks helped us all feel like we really were getting away from it all.

It is a gorgeous place and one that my husband and I intend to return to time after time – you never know, we might meet you there…

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Villa Podernovo is a former 18th century farmhouse which has been converted into a charming villa rental with pool and a wedding villa. We are located just south of Siena and north of the Maremma in an area less celebrated than the Chianti or the Val d’Orcia, quite rugged and still authentic, with hilltop medieval hamlets to discover, relaxing panoramas and delightful winding roads. The highlights of our area are San Galgano Abbey and Montesiepi Chapel with the 'Sword in the rock', two architectural marvels and also unique wedding venues. They are both only 7Km away to its proximity Villa Podernovo is the ideal venue for wedding celebrations.THE VILLAThe villa rental is ideal for groups, workshops and weddings. The villa consists of two close by buildings: 'Capanna' (the daytime building) and 'Casolare' (the accommodation building) which can accommodate up to 18 people. Both buildings are surrounded by large tended lawns and private woodland with oaks and chestnut trees. The south-facing chlorine-free pool with hammocks and decks is the perfect place to relax on hot summer days. The villa is tucked away from the village yet it is not isolated. The village is only 5 minutes on foot along an oak tree-lined easy trail and has all necessary facilities such as a small supermarket, a traditional Tuscan restaurant, bar, wine bar, pub, newsagent/tobacconist, the Post office, a pharmacy and medical services. The villa interiors retain the original Tuscan terracotta floors, the chestnut beam ceilings and are decorated in soothing colors. Furniture is rustic yet tasteful and comfortable and the overall atmosphere is of a true country house. The villa has no air-conditioning yet all apartments have fans. We are 450 metres above sea level and temperatures inside are generally pleasant also on hot days.THE 'CAPANNA' (daytime building) The 'Capanna' building is a two-floor converted barn with free broadband Wi-Fi which hosts all daytime areas: the large equipped kitchen (15sqm), the breakfast room (35sqm), the enclosable porch (120sqm) with garden view and the first-floor lounge (80 sqm). All daytime areas are intercommunicating and can be comfortably lived in also on bad weather. The kitchen opens onto a small courtyard with garden furnishings which is a lovely place for breakfasting under the sun. The meals room opens onto the porch. Both these areas have large sturdy wooden tables and chairs for all villa guests. The breakfast room also communicates with the first floor lounge via indoor stairs. This lounge can be used as a relaxation area and for workshops, too.Note on group meals: For groups who do not with to cook and according to the number of requested meals we can either provide our own breakfasts/meals or provide a group cook+waiter combination who will take care of everything, including food shopping. THE 'CASOLARE'(accommodation building)The 'Casolare' building hosts all five villa apartments, on two floors.Garden furniture is available in the courtyards just outside the building.Apartments are tastefully furnished, have en suite bathrooms with shower. Bed linens, bath towels and hairdryer are provided. The villa apartments can be also individually rented when the whole villa is not already booked by a group or for a wedding. Apartments have food facilities which allow for a complete meal.We also offer B&B. ... more   less
