Went there for our honeymoon - great nature, beautiful hotel, nice people, awesome spa. The only thing that was not at the same standard as the rest was the food.
My wife and I had a wonderful 5 days at Adler Thermae. We found all of the facilities to be top class, including the pool and spa, restaurant and bedroom, and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. A very relaxing experience, there are pleasant views from the verandah where you can enjoy a pleasant chianti before or after dinner. The five course dinners were good, (especially the dessert table!) though wine was a little expensive. One improvement we would have liked would have been the post-dinner entertainment in the bar/lounge which was neither relaxing for the older generation nor particularly modern for the younger - it sometimes spoiled the ambience. Overall though a terrific place for any age to relax and enjoy great facilities in a wonderful setting. We would definitely go back!
My husband and I stayed here with our two children aged 19 months and 4 months. The hotel is beautiful with stunning views from all rooms. The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly; reception staff were efficient but a little frosty at times.
If you are going to the hotel to enjoy the spa facilities, you won't be disappointed, they are excellent. There are a number of free facilities including saunas, relaxation rooms and thermal waters in a quiet area of the hotel. The treatments were reasonably priced, no more expensive than we've payed at home. The therapists were very highly trained.
For us, the food was the biggest problem. Breakfast was great with a buffet option. Lunch was served at the Osteria and at 14 euros was good value but it was the same format every day - salad / pasta / meat / dessert, served as a set menu. It would be great to have something light. Evening meal follwed a similar format. Whilst the food was lovely, a lot of the ingredients were repeated. Great if you like guinea fowl or veal, less good if you like chicken! The biggest problem was accommodating our 19 month old daughter. The hotel was unable to provide food unless we were prepared to take her in to the dining room at 7.30pm (she's in bed at 6pm). There is no room service menu at all which is suprising for a 5 star hotel.
Despite the food, we had an enjoyable stay. It is a very family friendly hotel and I'm sure if you have children who are slightly older (aged 4 and above), the kids club would be great (it's free too).
