“Best in Kohima”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

I stayed in 3-4 hotels in Kohima. To me it seemed to be best in affordable range. Hygiene was good. Food excellent. Services were also very prompt. Very cordial staff. Bit expensive if you go during the festival season of December the Hornbill one.

Very nicely located, this is one of the best maintained hotel properties in Kohima. Rooms are quite, spacious and very neat and clean. Staff is friendly & helpful. Food quality is also good. Given the location, getting a good Indian food was a pleasant surprise. Only let down was our request to get a room heater was turned down, although it does get little cold in evenings in October. On the 2nd day of our stay, there was no water supply in the room due to lack of electricity but staff was very kind to provide water in room through buckets. Visitors should be ready for cash payment at check-out since they don't accept cards. Overall, a satisfying experience and recommend this as one of the good hotel options for stay in Kohima

This is the best place to stay in Kohima. The rooms are spacious and have pleasant interior. The staff took special care and did everything to make our stay memorable. Food was really delicious and the local cuisine is a must try at the restaurant. The Resort is reasonably priced. Overall all it was a good experience staying at this resort. Will visit Again and recommend others to book this hotel in Kohima.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

where to start? If this is as good as it gets in Kohima, what a sad affair. The website boasted views, internet, a classy place, best in town on top of Minister's and on and on. Online booking, no go. Internet access, nope. Credit cards, nope, cash only, because their terminal was supposedly down. We asked for assurance that this would be taken care of by the time we checked out. This became a point of argument at check out, and to their credit I'd say that they reluctantly agreed to a small discount on the final bill for the inconvenience and extra bank fees for us.
Room with a view, forget it. The rate quoted on the phone did not match website. I guess they never look at what they say on their site, because they don't have internet. The room i had was a double, no more singles available. Very sparse, no complementary water, no refrigerator, no safe, no breakfast (however we negotiated complementary breakfast, which still ended up on our bill and became part of our arguments at check out). Light switches only at the door, no lights or switches at bed side. Bathroom had 20 l water heater, providing for very very short showers. No complementary toiletries. You would think this was a budget hotel, but no, it has the highest room rates for Kohima. Still, compared to the other comparable hotel on the hill, the Japfu, this is a better location and the hotel has more character. The breakfast was decent, but service is very sluggish, several time we had to go search for a waiter. On the other hand, the dinner menu food itself was quite good, mostly Indian menu items.
