I visited Da Francesco twice while in Kalamata on business. As it was late September it was lovely sitting outside with a view of the marina in the cool. The setting is ideal. The restaurant inside is also tasteful so I believe it would a nice place to visit in the winter too.
The food is good but nothing to brag about. The pizzas have a thin base. The taste of cheese varies from visit to visit so these doesnt seem to be standardisation. The spaghetti dishes are tasty and the portions good.
On the one occasion I had pork fillets in whisky sause. There was so much batter (or flour) on the pork that there was a muddy effect on the plate which was not pleasant. On another occasion I ordered the mexican salad. They informed after I had ordered that unfortunately they had no avocado, or green peppers, or black beans. These are all slight mishaps but i think are indicative of the difference between simply good from very good.
Overall, though, it is a pleasant place to visit if you have had enough of Greek cuisine in Kalamata.
