Okay landmark in kanpur is probably the only star property so a little of the monopolistic attitude is visible and apparent. Was part of a wedding group and organizer of the group as well so the bad first STAY AWAY from the 15th floor till the time they renovate, other rooms on all other floors are fine by chance and the property being sold out that day half of our guests got stuck on this floor and boy they don't ever want to come back to this hotel.
The hotel is located in a very central part of the city and is well equipped and has all the trappings of becoming a good star hotel and shud be well on its way once the rooms in question are renovated. It has a nice kids/playzone,good business centre, great spa.good gym and a lovely restaurant no complaints.Service as expected in a small town is acceptable from the junior staff but where landmark scores is in the management area and for sure banquets.
The staff Mr. Anupam understood our needs and even with 50% of our rooms on the dreaded floor he came across as a knight in shining armor helped us in our upgrade and u realise with his affability,good nature and helpful manner that it is truly the staff of a hotel which wants a guest to come back and not necessarily the hotel itself.
Banquets was another story we had three lunches of 30-40 on three seperate days and boy they were all of the highest standards and loved by all the guests. Monty Charan a young executive took care of us in the banquets department and i have my money on this boy rising to the top of the hospitality industry, and i wouldn't be surprised to see him as a general manager in some big chain.
Landmark for me will be the preferred choice of stay whenever i am in kanpur.
