“Wedding stay at the landmark”

Okay landmark in kanpur is probably the only star property so a little of the monopolistic attitude is visible and apparent. Was part of a wedding group and organizer of the group as well so the bad first STAY AWAY from the 15th floor till the time they renovate, other rooms on all other floors are fine by chance and the property being sold out that day half of our guests got stuck on this floor and boy they don't ever want to come back to this hotel.
The hotel is located in a very central part of the city and is well equipped and has all the trappings of becoming a good star hotel and shud be well on its way once the rooms in question are renovated. It has a nice kids/playzone,good business centre, great spa.good gym and a lovely restaurant no complaints.Service as expected in a small town is acceptable from the junior staff but where landmark scores is in the management area and for sure banquets.
The staff Mr. Anupam understood our needs and even with 50% of our rooms on the dreaded floor he came across as a knight in shining armor helped us in our upgrade and u realise with his affability,good nature and helpful manner that it is truly the staff of a hotel which wants a guest to come back and not necessarily the hotel itself.
Banquets was another story we had three lunches of 30-40 on three seperate days and boy they were all of the highest standards and loved by all the guests. Monty Charan a young executive took care of us in the banquets department and i have my money on this boy rising to the top of the hospitality industry, and i wouldn't be surprised to see him as a general manager in some big chain.

Landmark for me will be the preferred choice of stay whenever i am in kanpur.

Room Tip: Avoid the 15th floor till they renovate.

The hotel located in the heart of Kanpur. That has both advantages and disadvantages. Shopping areas are close by, but the access to the hotel is not too neat, a narrow road next to a commercial building leads to the hotel. The lower half of the building is used as commercial space by shops, so while the lobby is on the ground floor, the hotel starts from the 9th floor.
The staff are courteous but not too helpful. Service is offered only when asked for.
The rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are clean, but the showers need to be cleaned of the salt deposits from water stains and not free flowing. The room lighting is pretty dim and by day you need to draw the curtains to let in enough light.
There is some work happening in the hotel so people staying on the 15 - 17 floor may expect some disturbances (from other reviews i presume that this has been going on for around a month now).
The Gym is good with trainers at hand to assist, there is also a pool. These two were a big plus for me.
The food is decent but not extraordinary. Breakfast fare is minimal, other meals are rich and heavy. Havent seen any superlative continental or chinese fare. The Awadhi cuisine is nice, esp if you like rich food.

Room Tip: At the moment donot take rooms on 16th / 17th floor due to repair work which may cause disturbance

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Guess it is the best property in the city. Very good feel place. Absolutely wonderful coffee shop. Pool is clean. You can opt for pool side dinner too. I really enjoyed my stay here. Great place to stay!

Though centrally located, the approach road is not very comfortable. Had a bad experience during chek in as I was told at 12 noon that room would be available after 1 PM only. This despite booking in advance and giving chek in time rightly.
When I expressed my severe displeasure, astonishingly, room was given in less than five minutes All ready for stay!
Any ways, room service and house keeping services were good and efficient.
Overall to me , this one appears to be more expensive than the kind of amenities, experience and comfort they offer. May be, because no other hotel of this category in Kanpur.

It is the only five star hotel in Kanpur.The location is very convenient being situated in the heart of the city.The rooms are standard and comfortable though the property is quite old.You will find the restaurant serving good breakfast every morning.It is ideal for business trips.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms in the higher floors.

I have stayed in this luxurious hotel every time I have visited Kanpur. Located centrally, the rooms are average while the staff and the room service is good.
The food is also very good and it has a good variety on the menu to choose from.

Room Tip: The rooms beyond the 17th floor give you a good view of the pool and the city.

Well this is the only luxurious hotel in kanpur..when i stayed it was a fairly good hotel. The rooms are old but then its ok and the hotel looked as it demanded a renovation. It has a good staff and food is even good but the hotel needs a lot of imrovement ..
