“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Beautiful location, excellent facilities all kept spotlessly clean with friendly, helpful staff in every job.

We had an upgraded room with effective air conditioning, good sized bathroom and shower with various setting options - full drench from the ceiling was my favorite.

Only slight disappointment was the buffet meal arrangements. The food was fine with plenty of options but would have been much more enjoyable served to the table.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms with hot tubs seemed very shaded

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We have two kids of 5 and 3 and we stayed Half Board at the Capo Bay Hotel from 7th-15th April 2013. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. We were very happy to be upgraded from a quad room to adjoining rooms on arrival. The kids club was run very well by Anna. Anna does such a good job of keeping the kids entertained with arts, crafts, games, face painting and the very popular fish feeding (the hotel has 2,000 Koi Karp which are amazing to see and fun to feed which is the job of the kids) but some of the toys are a little dated and they could do with some more kit in there. The food in the main restaurant is very good quality and there is a wide variety at both the breakfast and dinner buffet. The staff were happy to provide kid friendly food if required (plain pasta, spag bol, fish fingers and chips etc.), although we weren't really told this but learnt from other families. It was our little girl's 3rd birthday when we were there and the hotel very kindly provided a lovely (big!) chocolate cake free of charge which was shared with the other kids at the pool. We ate at the hotel restaurant Koi on our last evening. The atmosphere in there was great but we weren't that impressed with the food. The sushi was good but the Italian meat platter wasn't good quality or value.
The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the outdoor areas are immaculate but it doesn't scream 5* which is what it's rated. I can't quite put my finger on it. The beds are comfy and the rooms are functional but not luxurious (quite small TV with limited TV channels, non-brand toiletries, balcony size was small). We got disturbed most nights by the rubbish lorries picking up the bins very late at night (the kids slept through it though!).
The location of the hotel is great though and the beach being just a stones throw away from the hotel is perfect. The sea is clean, clear and safe and the kids loved spending time on the beach building sand castles. You have to hire sunbeds and umbrellas if you use them as the beach is part of the municipality and not the hotel. The weather had just started to warm up nicely when we were there. We had a few cloudy, windy days but the rest were gorgeous warm days. We ventured out to the high street a few times and found it to be useful for the supermarket to buy lunch for the beach and also a few nice restaurants. The night life is quite busy but Capo Bay it far enough away not to be disturbed by it but close enough to walk to.
Overall I would highly recommend the hotel for a family friendly holiday in a nice location.

This is my 3rd stay at Capo Bay hotel. My company organized a long weekend for his employees with their families. My daughter loved the hotel and she couldn't get enough of it. We have been upgraded to a duplex suite which was simply amazing. Room amenities were wonderful. The scenery from both balconies was very good.
We really enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The single ones went to the Koi for the night and they were very happy with it as they had a great time. Lunch at Mama's restaurant was again a very nice experience.
Personnel was polite and helpful. Highly recommended hotel for families and not only.

Spent a week in Capo Bay Hotel on a B&B basis. A splendid experience, but the waistlines have suffered. The welcome drink and the warmth of staff (including the lovely smile from our breakfast greeter) set the tone for the hotel and the holiday as a whole.

The sunbed allocation is a very good idea and meant we had freedom to come and go as we wished.

All in all the hotel has a lot of class and the Bucks Fizz with breakfast is a habit I will have to shake - until our next trip to Capo.

Wife's experience of the beauty spa and massage was excellent and the price was reasonable.

Capo is close to all the buzz of Potaras but is quiet and away from it all at the same time.

Room Tip: Take care with the Mini Bar. V expensive.

My wife and I stayed for 12 nights here during May, the hotel is very modern, well located on fig tree bay and commands good views of the area.
We stayed on a b&b basis so I can only comment on the breakfast which was very good, with lots of variety.
It was my wife's birthday during our stay and I booked the "Dinner 4 2" on the beach. This was really good and the staff were extremely helpful in keeping it a surprise for my wife. The setting and the food were both brilliant. On the day of her birthday the hotel sent a bottle of bubbly up to our room when we returned from sunbathing which was a very nice touch. Eleana and all of the other staff work tirelessly to make sure things run smoothly and are to be commended for their work ethic and helpful attitude.
My only criticism of the hotel is the same as a number of the other reviews and that is the price of drinks at the hotel are off the scale compared with everywhere else. If the prices were lower we would have stayed in the hotel more frequently in the evenings and this would encourage more people remain at the hotel creating a better evening atmosphere.
The Koi bar cocktails were great and again the staff were very helpful.
Protaras itself is a funny mix of very nice restaurants and very cheesy ones but it does offer something for everyone.
Overall we had a very good time and you will not be disappointed by the hotel, it is without doubt one of the best in the area.

A really charming hotel, you must stay there if you visit Protaras! There is not a single criticism to be made: the rooms are gorgeous, have the most comfortable beds and the standardness to cleanliness is very high. The breakfast is incredible and Capo Bay has one of the best Japanese Restaurants in town.

The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful - nothing is too much trouble and their attention to detail is exemplary.

The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the standard of cleanliness very high indeed.

This has now been by Eighth visit to Capo Bay Hotel and all I can say is that it still ticks all the boxes.

There is a lot to be said about revisiting an hotel that you have previously stayed at. I used to think that I wouldnt want to go back to the same hotel, but its so nice not to feel like a stranger and having to work out where things are. It means your holiday literally starts the minute you walk through the door. Having booked your sun lounger for the week means that you know that you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast without having the need to wake up at the crack of dawn to 'baggsie' your sun lounger.

We were really impressed with the modern Art that Capo Bay is introducing to its concept.

Above all, the clientele that Capo Bay attracts are one of their best attributes too.
Year after year we have developed friendships that have made the holiday simply unforgetable.

Until our next trip out to Capo Bay.....

Angela

We have been to capo a few times. We live in Limassol and we all know protaras is a very different quality to what you can find in Limassol, the standard of hospitality in limassol is far superior. But we visit to catch the holiday vibe. We stay at the capo bay as its the best in protaras. We stayed half board and we had a lovely week end. We had our 1 year old girl with us and feel the dinner was too late at 7pm. My baby was falling asleep in her meal, but really the meal was NOT 5 star, all the meat was so over cooked and sword fish was so dry, calamari was not cleaned and the plasticky back bone was all over my plate, I run my own busy restaurant in Limassol and I was really not impressed with the meal. Breakfast was very good.
