“NEEDS GOOD OVERALL”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

hotel very tired looking in need of spruce up, last bus to protaras leaves hotel at 7pm never did find out if it returned. you can walk 20 mins to roundabout where the 101 bus runs all night. 12 euros in a cab to return from protaras. staff were welcoming but the maid service is basic as she only made beds and washed the floor, same piece of dirt on floor for two weeks while we were there, notice on back of bathroom door requiring you to buy your own toilet rolls as only one provided when you arrive. Restuarants nearby are ok but expensive compared to main town, local pub Pig & Whistle very nice and reasonable priced pub grub.We have been coming to Protaras for 8 years and this was the worst place we have stayed would not recommend it at all.

The Amore hotel was welcoming, warm and friendly. We had a fantastic time and will return.
The room was spacious and had a lovely pool side view from the balcony. Cooking facilities provided. The room was cleaned everyday and staff always smiling. Susana and Tony are the most welcoming people and made our stay in Cyprus more than we could of hoped for. Always there to greet us and always have time to chat and ask you how you are. The Hotel is a 2 minute walk to 3 of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Waters crystal clear and water warm enough during September for an early morning swim. The hotel is only a 15 minute bus trip to main Protaras and buses are frequeant. If you dont want to travel to town for dinner there are some lovely restaurants only a stone throw away from the hotel and the food is amazing.

We want to go back.

Have just returned from one week at the Amore Hotel Apartments in September 2012 and thanks to Costas, Gina, Tony and the rest of the staff I had an amazing holiday - one that I will always remember and smile. The pool was wonderful, cleaned every day, plenty of sunbeds for everyone, rooms were massive and equiped with all you could need. The pool bar was the best ever - Costas the bar man was brilliant! Lots of lovely restaurants to eat in nearby and the beaches are great. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a wonderful location with friendly service - hope to go again soon - Clare

As stated in my earlier review I said that I would return in September to the Amore. Yes I returned and had a brilliant holiday. Tony and Suzanna made us feel like part of the family. The pool area was clean the worst part around the pool was people sitting round moaning how dated the hotel was. If these people had read trip advisor they would see that most people think its dated but have still had a good time. It's one of the cheapest hotels to book in the famagusta area. Reading some of the reviews people are expecting champagne lifestyle on brown ale money. The apartment was cleaned everyday beds made and towels changed mid week. The towels could do with being renewed but they are clean so wasn't a problem to me. We did not have any ant problems but as a regular visitor to Cyprus you learn very quickly to clean benches after making food as if you don't the ants will be in regardless of star rating of the accommodation. Overall Brilliant holiday and very sad to say goodbye and will be returning to Cyprus next year and if the price is right then it maybe the Amore again.

This was a last minute booking and our main criteria was somewhere hot, with a decent pool. It delivered on both thos counts but I DO beleive there are a few thing people need to be aware of before booking. It is NOT in Protaras. That is a a good 15 min bus ride away, and too far to walk. The Hotel resturaunt is not up to much, and to be truthfull neither are most of the 10 or so local eating places, so you are more or less forced to go to Protaras if you want anything decent to eat. After talking to other people that were there at the same time as us, terms they were using about the Hotel were "dated" "tired" "in a time warp"....,all pretty accurate to be honest. It wasnt the cleanest of places, even though cleaners went into your rooms every day.
There is air conditioning in the rooms, providing you are prepared to pay an extra £10 a day to use it....,which on a 14 night stay is a fair amount on top of what you have already paid, so be aware of that. The pool looks fairly clean?...,although there is some green algea that is evident on your trunks when you come out, if you have been leaning on the sides?. They also have a weird habbit of chucking in chemicals during the day while people are swimming??....,where most places seem to do their pool maintenance overnight, to allow the chemicals to work BEFORE the next days use?.
All things considered, I WOULD go back to Cyprus, just not to this Hotel.
W & G, West Sussex.

Room Tip: Dont have a room close to the pool bar......,music keeps you away till the wee small hours.

We have been as a family a number of times to holiday at the Amore with Tony and Susannah ( The Owners ). Each visit we are treated more and more like family members and thats welcoming as I feel like they are adopted Mum and Dad for 14 days each year. Why would you want to stay anywhere else, with their hospitality, the hotel location and facilities. With a pint of Keo ( Local Lager ) in hand and an extremely economic plate of Stifado ( Beef Stew and Rice ) from the bar/restaurant sitting around the pool as the sun lowers in the evening sky. There is no better place to relax once a year from the hustle and bustle of UK daily life. Only another 50 weeks to wait until next summer.

Room Tip: Request a room located on pool side, these are ideal for managing with young children, when they nee...

This is our 4th time at the same hotel. I have travelled with my husband and three children at different times of the season and have always found the hotel staff and amenties to be very good. The pool area is kept very clean and is safe for children - the baby pool is sectioned off from the big pool. The food provided at the restaurant was of good quality and reasonably priced. The rooms were cleaned every day and clean towels were provided regularly. With regards to another review concerning cats....they are only there because some holiday makers decide to buy cat food and feed them!! The beach is a very short walk away. We had a fantastic relaxing holiday!
