“Tsokkos Farce”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Our experience of the lliada hotel was so dissapointing after looking forward to our holiday for nearly a year.We had been transfered to the Antigoni hotel after 1 hour after arriving at the lliada,we asked what the Antigoni was like and we were told by reception staff what a wonderfull hotel it was.In our opinion it is the filthiest hotel we have ever stayed in, situated on the main road, not on the beach and rate it as a 2 star [only just].The room we had been allocated back at the lliada was not a 4*as advertised either it was tatty/ dirty/ blocked sink/broken toilet seat/filthy shower spray/badly stained curtains and balcony furniture/and more holes in the towels than towel.Breakfast was served outside Ladies and Gents Toilets with the doors open [Pool Toilets].The Beach Bar food was never hot always cold or burnt and the evening meal was dwindling by the day.[End Of Season excuse]and by the way dont expect any entertainment as advertised if you book around the last 3 weeks of October,as we were told its all but finished End Of Season.
Colin on reception we would like to say thankyou, you have to deal with very irrate guests on a daily basis as management turn a blind eye,and Augusta on reception perhaps you could book yourself a customer service course whilst the hotel is closed for the winter season.
Hopefully Thomas Cook will ammend the information on this hotel ,and Mr Tsokkos and co,these problems need to be corrected, you must be aware that you have had many very unhappy guests at the lliada hotel this year.In our opinion it is most definitely not a 4*hotel and should not be advertised as one.

Our 12th visit to this hotel once again was very good we met again with friends we have made over the years and the usual staff who we class as friends. We arrived at 0130am 30th september and were told the hotel was overbooked and that our niece had to share a room with her parents for a couple of days this was done, the hotel receptionist the next morning was very apologetic and proceeded to sort out the matter to everyones satisfaction.Overbooking was a problem and we were horrified with the abuse given to the receptionists when it was not their fault.Hopefully the company will sort this problem out.Despite this we had a great holiday the food was good and our rooms kept clean and tidy we are hopefully going again in 2013 if they can fit us in.

Mike Senior, Motherwell. Scotland.
No over booking problems.
Ideal location, Beach with water sport facilities at one side and main street with bars, shops and resteraunts at the front.
Checked in on 21st October 2012 for 10 days, at 10.30pm. Night staff very helpful, even supplied me a bottle of water so I could take my medication.
Room clean comfortable and spacious. Hair dryer hiding in drawer, tea making in wardrobe.
Maid service excellent.
Food choice and quality excellent @ breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Suggest a warm plate stand next to the cooked breakfast bar would be an improvement).
All staff very helpful and friendly.
Had a relaxing 10 days no hassle at any time.
Elevators always working.
Swimming pool good size but a bit cold. Sea was like stepping into a tepid bath.
Loads of comfortable sun beds.
Ok some areas looking a bit tired eg corridors, but it was end of season.
Not much entertainment at this time of year, however Rockafellas straight across the road was brilliant every night.
Meal times well chosen,
Will definitely visit here again if same staff and food quality maintained.

Room Tip: Avoid -2 level rooms poll side ( Local ants can invade some times). My room was on level -1adjacen...

Stayed at this hotel and could not have asked for any better. Very clean, food great and staff very friendly. Also in a very good location right in the heart of shops, bars and restaurants. The only problem we encountered were the flys outside the hotel they will not leave you alone and i was constantly brushing them off. If you were outside having a meal or a drink you were tortured. Other than that we had a nice week in this nice hotel and would certainly recommend it.

To be honest I was very close to cancelling this holiday given the very poor reviews on Trip Advisor. Right up until the moment we were handed the key to our room I was sure we were going to be told we were being moved due to over booking. Luckily this did not happen to us. The hotel is fine. It is not large but it does the job. The reception area and bar are perfectly acceptable. The room we had was lovely and bright and very clean. The food in the evening is not exactly 4 star but it did the job and we always managed to find something to eat. The staff are all very pleasant and cheerful. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed at where the sun loungers are on grass. It was a bit like sunbathing in your own back garden. We didn't have any problems getting a sun lounger each day. Most people tended to sit in the the area closer to the beach so it wasn't a problem to get a lounger near the pool. At the beginning of our holiday most of the other holiday makers were mature couples but we noticed that younger families arrived later in the week. The pool was probably not be the best place to sit round at this time due to the noise and splashing!

I do agree with some of the reviews which indicated there was a bit of a problem catching the eye of the waiters. Once your food and drink order was given (in the snack bar at the pool) it was not always easy to get another drink. My husband resorted to either going up to the bar and getting a drink himself or asking for two drinks at the one time. This is the only area we had any problems with.

We were very happy with the hotel.

Have stayed in this hotel 5 times now and we love it mainly due it its location and great staff, everyone from reception to the maids. The rooms are bright and clean. Food is ok, not a great deal of choice but you will always find something to eat. There is a problem with over booking and this has been going on for over a year so we considered ourselves lucky that we stayed where we booked.

We stayed at the Iliada Beach Hotel for the first time seven years ago. Our stay for the two weeks considering all aspects of our holiday was excellent, so therefore we decided to return and have been returning for the past 7 years.
For a perfect holiday the hotel satisfied all our main ingredients these being, firstly the staff.
From first contact at reception, Augusta, Georgina and Elena could not have been be more friendly and welcolming giving the true meaning to the hospitality industry. This is followed on by the waiting staff who were always well presented, efficient, courtious and friendly with special thanks to Kenny, Costas, Savvas, Makis and Andreas. The cuisine was excellent and we commend Costas and his team for its preparation and presentation (not to forget Christina with her mouthwatering omlettes at breakfast).
The cleaning staff did a first class job as all areas of the hotel where kept very clean indeed both inside and out and would like to give a special mention of our room maid, Georgia who looked after us very well for the duration of our holiday.
The room we found was of a good size and well fitted out with good side sea view. We liked the provision of tea and coffee making facillities, ideal for us Brits.
Second ingredient for the hotel is its location. This must be the best section of beach (no rocks) in fig tree bay.
When we went in October towards the end of the season the hotel was looking a bit tired and ready for a 'make-over'. I hope this is undertaken before the start of next season.
Thirdly, the large car park. As we usually hire a car for the two week there is ample parking both above and below ground.
The sun bed area we like with its tree mix and fabulous sea view.
There is now a first class walkway between the hotel and the beach which we found ideal for a strole with sun shelters, seating, water fountains and toilets along its great length, but you will need plenty of energy to walk its full length.
As mentioned we went in October and the evening entertainment in the hotel had all but finished. We got two nights of a dancing troupe which were fantastic but other nights there was only karaoke or bingo but just across the road was Rockafellas so we spent most nights there.
We have already booked again for October 2013, our 8th visit.

Room Tip: Choose a high room to get the best view if you do not mind using a lift. Although it did not affect...
