In the mid 80's the Golden Coast was the most promising 'four stars plus' hotel of the Ayia Napa and Protaras Area;excellent amenities and fine service.
Today ,it has a feeling of an abandoned or rundown business :even its owners and their relatives , snub it and prefer the installations and facilities of other area resorts!!
Its location is one of the best,a calm retreat with a pleasant beach and large gardens, rooms are clean today rather 3 stars, toilets a nightmare as due to the ''reduced'' water pressure...it takes 20 minutes to fill up the flush and having a shower is quite an adventure,
A/C is outdated and noisy, there is a a in room safe at a additional fee.
The food ,as a consequence of the all inclusive policy is , of a poor and cheap quality,F/B staff including chefs sometimes are having their meal while guests are served!Breakfast buffet is just Ok; everything but once again poorly presented and without any effort for quality,Room service breakfast is served in room at a fee untill 10 am ,which is strange for a 4 stars holiday resort,
It took the Management one week to repait one of the two elevators used by customers, the pool area , the gym and the inside pool are not clean,
There is an italian animation team which is totally unefficient and noisy,
According to what we saw the fully renovated Vrissiana Hotel and the Grecian Park Hotel remain the only hotels with acceptable 4 stars amenities and services in the Protaras area.
