We were looking forward to having two outdoor swimming pools - this was not the case. There is one rather odd shaped pool with a childrens paddling pool attached. There are not two separate ones. This was very disappointing. The indoor pool was a lovely escape from the hot weather.

The hotel was very clean, as were the bedrooms.

Beach lovely and clean and you are right on top of it. Just a shame that the shops and bars are so far away, as the evening entertainment was terrible. Never experienced anything like it. Hope they change the entertainment team soon! (Even the mini disco was bad)

The staff very friendly and helpful. Just beware of the Doctors if you need one as they a bit barbaric in Cyprus.

The food was nice, even the children ate well.

“Tired & Sad!”

Golden Coast Beach Hotel

We have recently returned from a two week stay at the Golden Sands and have to say that the brochure was not entirely accurate!
The hotel is tired and looking decidely tatty, it certainly doesn't deserve the four star rating.
If you're going for a 'quiet relaxing' holiday - forget it! The hotel has a full six hour a day 'animation program' - loud music and pool activities. Couple this with twice daily renditions of 'Here Comes the Bride' and the porter tinkling away on the piano - and you have the receipe for a frustratingly noisy atmosphere.
Breakfast was a joke, miserable staff, tables not cleared, no coffee or teapots, broken coffee machines and juice machines and poor quality food.
Fully equipped gym translates as a running machine, broken bike and some weights - no 'full time instructor' to be seen anywhere.
Pool area very tatty - broken tiles and steps.
Beware - this hotel is in two blocks - the second block being some way away from the main hotel - no reception, security or lighting at night.
I'm sure this was once a lovely hotel, but now it is really is very poor.
I would definatley not recommend this hotel.

Visited for a week with my wife and 2 girls age 4 & 7. Had booked a mountain view room with breakfast but were upgraded to a sea view room on arrival. We were also offered the chance to move to all inclusive at the cost of £16 per adult per day and £8 per child which we declined as we like to go out in the evenings.

Hotel was very clean, good facilities and a great team of animators who ran the kids club and entertainment.

overall a fabulous week - we've already booked to go there for 2 weeks next year!

In the mid 80's the Golden Coast was the most promising 'four stars plus' hotel of the Ayia Napa and Protaras Area;excellent amenities and fine service.
Today ,it has a feeling of an abandoned or rundown business :even its owners and their relatives , snub it and prefer the installations and facilities of other area resorts!!

Its location is one of the best,a calm retreat with a pleasant beach and large gardens, rooms are clean today rather 3 stars, toilets a nightmare as due to the ''reduced'' water pressure...it takes 20 minutes to fill up the flush and having a shower is quite an adventure,
A/C is outdated and noisy, there is a a in room safe at a additional fee.

The food ,as a consequence of the all inclusive policy is , of a poor and cheap quality,F/B staff including chefs sometimes are having their meal while guests are served!Breakfast buffet is just Ok; everything but once again poorly presented and without any effort for quality,Room service breakfast is served in room at a fee untill 10 am ,which is strange for a 4 stars holiday resort,

It took the Management one week to repait one of the two elevators used by customers, the pool area , the gym and the inside pool are not clean,

There is an italian animation team which is totally unefficient and noisy,

According to what we saw the fully renovated Vrissiana Hotel and the Grecian Park Hotel remain the only hotels with acceptable 4 stars amenities and services in the Protaras area.

Have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Golden Coast Hotel having had an excellent holiday. Was very impressed with the hotels decor and pool area. My room was very clean and tidy and was cleaned daily by the maids service. I was pleased to see that you get two beach towels free to use from the hotel in your room. The hotel had a main restaurant and a pool snack bar which I used frequently as an all inclusive resident. The choice of food available at the restaurant was great at breakfast, lunch and dinner whether you want something to snack on or have a main meal. There was also always a meal provided for children too. Another bonus of being all inclusive was that you could drink as much as you liked from water and slush puppies to vodka it was all free. A great hotel right on the beach with a great pool and views over the harbour. Best holiday I have had in a long time would highly recommended this holiday to families and couples.
