4 star hotel iv stayed in better hostels the food was not only unappetising but down right bloody dangerous ie salad warm with skin on mayo uncovered so the flies enjoyed more than the clientele I would say 80% of the people u saw we're eating kids food ie chicken nuggets or fish fingers also hair in the tomatoes as an all inclusive costumer I didn't expect to have to eat out everyday we went in the restaurant every day to see if there was any change but it was the same very poor standard and don't even try to complain because some of the staff are RUDE and I mean rude my husband got shouted it at asking for clean towels the water went of for approx 4 hrs I rang up to see how long it would take to be turned bk on she laughed and put the phone down the rooms although clean we're crap as nothing worked in them ie air con fridge radio ect the entertainment was none existent and also I felt this hotel was anti English as we were asked to move along with most other English clientele to make way for there extra special guests which were 85% Russian even some of the staff were fed up

Returned after such a good stay last july and was given a very warm welcome as it was 10.30 pm we had missed our evening meal but was offered sandwiches which we declined. Room was still in need of refurbishment but we knew this before we booked. Food was excellent as always but as for the entertainment it was a laugh (but not in the humorous way). A guy from Bulgaria was in charge of the entertainment team, whose previous experience was building work. Lets just say he didn't have a clue. Last year Thomas cook provided the entertainment team who were excellent. We were told that the hotel had changed from Thomas cook to One stop entertainment due to the increase in Russian Holidaymakers. Unfortunately the Russian guests didn't stop for the entertainment after the kids disco finished.
The Russian guests are extremely rude, when they have their evening meals they don't have drinks as they have to pay for them, they also fill carrier bags, pockets etc. with as much fruit as they can. Its unreal to watch.
As the hotel is catering more for their Russian guests than the English be prepared to go out more than you would normally.
Special thanks to Julie behind the bar. We will not be returning to this hotel again.

We were some of the first guests to stay here as the hotel had only opened the day before to find we had been moved from the apartments we had paid for and put in the hotel. We we greeted by a grumpy gentleman on reception who we avoided throughout the holiday as he was so unhelpful. We arrived at 10.00pm to find no food had been arranged and we had children who were hungry. Next morning looking at room and going on the balcony was amazed to fond the one side was not fixed and this was on the top floor. They repaired it with a bracket. I nearly went flying out as well when my foot caught in the net curtain as the hem was hanging down and it was filthy. The bed was very comfortable but the room was not clean. You have to pay to use the fridge and the tv was so old with the buttons missing we used the spoon to change channels. The shower curtain kept falling down into the bath and the only thing cleaned was the mirror. The food was very good with no bad tummies apart from one morning the bread for toast was mouldy. One of the waitresses wore a long hairpiece which she messed with and you could see hair hanging not attached when she took our drinks order and she was hopeless at mixing cocktails at the bar. The entertainment was the worst ever and 2 families moved to the Marlita beech hotel nearby. The swimming pool could not be used on 2 occasions as the filters had backed up sending black stuff into the water and there was poo in there but pool was not closed for cleaning. The reception area has dirty old looking furniture and banisters are not fixed. There are broken tiles to the edges around the inside bar where you can put your foot, loose tiles in the swimming pool as well. Nothing was working and we were told continually by Peter that the entertainment would get better. The team harass you all day long while you are on the sun beds and even interrupt your conversations so are very rude to the point of it being laughable. Any medal you win from the sports you have to hand back the next day and they are plastic 10 a penny ones. There is no presentation or certificates given which children love. As families came out we were told they went there year on year but entertainment previously was run by the Thomas Cook Team and was excellent last year but they would not be going again. To top it all and as shown in previous reviews your time ends at 12 noon. We went back to our room at 11.15am to find our key didn't work. Maids were shouting at us 'late..late..finished'. I was told at reception the computer automatically does this and they have no control over it!! You then have your wristband cut off as hotel policy all Inclusive finishes at 12 noon. We were issued with a lunch voucher, our pick up was 6pm so any further drinks and snacks have to be paid for. Overall the hotel is old, plaster falling off walls especially down to the indoor swimming pool and toilets. The water fountains were never switched on for the children to play in. Thomas Cook did their best to put right some of people's issues but as so many people complained they started to complete forms which you get a a reply with what has been dealt with. Would I ever go there again...NO, the clientele is made up of 70% Russians and 30% English. There is a man we called the bell boy who always wears a blue jacket and takes cases to the rooms, at first we thought he was very nice but no..he is very rude. He sometimes works on the booking in document in the restaurant and we heard him call the supervisor over and said quite loud 'I am having trouble with these Russians' we were gob smacked as this was in front of people queuing to go in....how rude!! Think that sums it up....enjoy your holiday...!

Room Tip: Top floor has humming from the air con unit

A lovely hotel, although quite a distance from Protaras. (20/30 mins walk) Dont get me wrong, Perinea was a lovely village but Protaras was where the action is.

Reception were very good and helpful when we arrived after a delayed flight and sorted us with a lunch voucher next day as we were too late for our evening meal (02.00 hours) They also sorted extra pillows and a faulty safe as soon as requested.

Room, spacious, very clean, comfy beds and a nice balcony looking over the immaculate pool area. bathroom small but well fitted and again immaculate. Maid service every day kept things right.

All interior areas of the hotel were very clean and comfortable and all staff eager to please,

Pools were a good size, large area surrounding with lots of sun beds and umbrellas, all in immaculate condition.

We were on half board and the quality, variety and quantity of the meals was superb though the ice cream freezer was set far too cold. We were well pleased with all breakfasts and evening meals.

Downsides: Distance from main resort, though we had a hire car and many people preferred the quieter town. Having done all inclusive in the past would have been disappointed with some of the restrictions in place had we chosen that option.

All in all a great holiday in a beautiful country in a lovely hotel and well catered for in all aspects apart from the flights.

Just got back from spending a very enjoyable week at the Tsokkos Gardens Hotel. Read the reviews AFTER we booked and became a bit worried by all the ngative comments. We were however very happy to discover that the majority of the complaints seem to be from professional moaners.
To complain that a hotel of this type cannot provide you with a cooked meal when you first arrive AFTER midnight is a bit silly. To Moan that the fully inclusive part of the package doesn't extend to the final milisecond of the stay as you are about to get on the bus to start the home journey is being over critical. To complain that you were without a room for over 10 hours on the last day is just being picky. The room is yours from midday on day 1 to midday on the final day. That is what you paid for. If you have a late flight, you can request a late check out room at reception, (or even pre book it before you arrive, as we did). This will give you a room until 6pm which really is late enough, even if you leave the hotel up until midnight.
To complain about the food when there is such a large selection to choose from is also unfair. I should imagine that most of the food on offer at lunch and dinner is better than most of the moaners provide for themselves when they're at home.
We found the hotel clean, tidy, friendly and relaxing. There is a very large pool with an even larger poolside area and a grassed area, all with plenty of sunbeds. The pool was clean and quite warm considering it was the start of the season and hadn't had time to really warm up in the sun by mid May.
ALL the staff were polite. Any minor irritations, (such as running out of toilet rolls or not being able to initially get the safety deposit box in our room to work), were dealt with swiftly and effectively.
Particular praise should be heaped on Carol who is in charge of the restaurant area. She and her staff were brilliant, even when dealing with some of the less than co-operative Russian guests.
The hotel entertainment was just starting to get going as our stay came to an end so I can't really comment on this but the entertainment staff seem to be keen so I think they'll be ok.
We only came to Cyprus so we could attend a wedding. We probably wouldn't have visited otherwise, but we will definately be back for another week next year.
That's it. Bye.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are quieter and have a view of the sea. Poolside rooms get noise from the evening...

this hotel has not only exceeded my expectations of my overall holiday, it has raised them! what a wonderful place, the surroundings of the hotel are also equally as lovely. Not in the centre of all the commotion but just short walk away, which is very handy. As I was all inclusive, I found the menu and selection of foods at night time and throughout the day typically British, which is good if you have a picky family like myself!
As my Dad got married over in Cyprus, all staff were caring and very considerate at night time with the little ones and the entertainment. The entertainment staff were just as amazing, very exciting to watch! Beautiful weather and beautiful people. I'm currently booking to go again this year.
