“Nice relaxing holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Would highly Recommend this hotel, ROOMS are modern and clean with stunning views and we didn't even request a sea view. FOOD was loverly and always found something nice to eat but could do with more choice, the restaurant overlooked the sea and you couldn't ask for better. DRINKS were what you'd expect from all inclusive, cocktails and water dispensers are included in the AI. Hotel was really clean, nice swimming pool with enough sun lounges for everyone, theres pool tables, entertainment every day and the shows at night were brilliant. Older guy on reception at night was sooo helpful and friendly, bar staff worked hard, entertainment staff a laugh (although 1 of the girls was more interested in being a slapper). Bus stop 5 mins from hotel and runs to protarus, ayia napa and nissi beach for just 1 euro which is well worth doing. Would return to this hotel.

We have been going to Cyprus for more than 20 years. I usually book everything separately and we stay in self catering accommodation, however this year, for one reason or another, we went all inclusive.

This holiday cost is roughly £700 more than we normally spend, however,as we were staying in a higher grade hotel, we thought the money would be well spent.

Upon arrivall, we were impressed by the hotel. The reception area and rooms were beautiful. We had a sea view, and were looking forward to seeing it in the day light. We weren't dissappointed.

Over the course of the holiday, we were extremely dissappoited with the food. There was a severe lack of local dishes, and most nights there was a carvery. There weren't even local dishes available in the "a la carte" restaurant, which you have to pay for. This was made in the same kitchen as the taverna buffet restaurant, so essentially you are paying for someone to bring your food to you, rather than getting it yourself!! The childrens food was very poor quality. My kids basically loved on chips and chocolate icecream for 11 days! Were were especally annoyed about this as we look forward to the food in Cyprus as it is always an extremely hight quality in the local bars and restaurants and is very reasonably priced. The brochure states local beers and spirits, however the only local beer was Leon. Carlsberg was available, however you had to pay for this, even thought is is brewed at the same brewery as Leon!!

There pool area was lovely and there was lots of entertainment during the day, however, the pool was very cloudy and there was lots of people with ear infections. We have been told by First Choice that the pools are always checked regularly, however, we never saw anyone checking them.

The website showed other facilities, including a gym, squash court, sauna and indoor pool, however, none of these were open and were all full of furniture.

We were told by some other guests that there was a Russian woman coming into the pool area and stealing guests belongings. The hotel staff wouldn't do anything about this even though there had been complaints. We therefore did not feel we could go into the pool as a family as someone had to stay with our belongings to ensure they were safe. We saw this woman twice and warned other residents.

We would say that this hotel is average at best. It looks very nice, but you can get far better service from the basic self catering apartments in the area. The Tsokkos hotels are the best. They are clean and well maintained and the pools are excellent. The food in the bars in Protaras is far superior and you can get a meal for a family of 4 for about 25Euros if you go to the right places! If you aren't bothered having nice food, and want to play bingo every night, then this hotel is for you. We won't be back though and will be back to self catering next year!!

This is definitely the best holiday we have had for a very long time! The complex is recently renovated, so is very comfortable. Free Wi-Fi in reception if you ask for the code at the desk.

Food is great, lots of choice every night, cocktails all included within the all inclusive, so you dont have to spend a penny if you dont want to. Some nice souvenirs close by though, and the strip from Pernera to Fig Tree Bay is lined with shops if you want to go spending.

The mini-disco at 8:30 was the highlight for us as my 3 year old daughter absolutely loved it!! The way the animation team get the kids involved is wonderful. They do various shows and work so hard day to night. Some from England some from Hungary and Bulgaria.

On the beach, lots of beds around the pool or on the grass or beach. Can't fault it.

We just stayed at the Pernera Beach from Sun 28th October to Sun 4th November. Hotel is great, very modern and very clean. Our room was a family suite for 2 adults and 2 kids, lots of space and nice balcony. No probs with check in. Arrived late and bar staff made us some toasties. Location is perfect, overlooking the sea, plenty of sunbeds, pool was slightly shaded but we took our beds onto grass area and had sun all day. food was very good and plenty to choose from. The only "moan" we have about this holiday is that we had from sun to tues with all the service and quality you would expect from all inclusive. However, we were told on Tuesday that the season ends on Wednesday!!! Our holiday was until the Sunday. And in being told that the season was ending, the hotel shut down the beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea which we loved. We were then told to use another restaurant, which although still nice, wasnt where we wanted to be! Then the entertainments team had their contracts finished on the wednesday so the evening entertaintment was not good. there was one member of the entertainments team left and as much as he did his job to the best of his ability, it was not great. Even our rep finished her job half way through so if we needed anyone to go to, we had a telephone number! As the week went on, there were less and less hotel staff as they all finished for the winter. one waiter left and we ended up having to put our dirty plates onto other tables as he couldnt clear them all in time. kids wanted coke at bar and towards end of week they ran out. breakfast they ran out of juice. on our last day there was hardly anything left for breakfast. kids loved the fresh pancakes so when we asked where they were, we were told "finished, next year"!!! indoor pool was closed - again "end of season". we loved the hotel, it was just a shame that upon booking we werent told by Thomas Cook that they finish their season at the end of October. A lot of schools had their half term the week before ours but still if people have booked until 4th November then the hotel should have full facilities until that time, especially as it was not cheap. A lot of families were not happy about this as they too were not informed at time of booking. i would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a beach holiday and modern facilities. just make sure you go when hotel is in full swing as we found it like a ghost town half way through our week!

Room Tip: we were facing out towards a supermarket, very quiet and no disturbance. we had a family suite and i...

Stayed during October half term so prices reflected that but we were not disappointed. Standard room was a bit tight with a fold up bed for our 3 year old but the location is great and the room facilities, safe, kettle and fridge and hairdryer bonus!
Some reviews have criticised the food here however our experience was positive. The location of the restaurant overlooking the beach made you feel like you were in a beachside taverna rather than an all inclusive dining room which can often resemble a school canteen! Lots of traditional specialties and choice. Desserts were a bit odd but would recommend the hot puddings especially their lava cake.
Staff work incredibly hard to make sure you enjoy yourself. If you want a taste of Cyprus and not a faceless European chain then this mid priced AI would suit.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a child go for a bigger room. Ask for a beach view if you like a sunny b...

myself, husband and my fifteen year old daughter stayed at the this hotel from the 25th oct - 30th oct 2012. We was very tired when we arrived as it was early hours of the morning, Checking in was quick and efficient. Went straight up to our rooms, which we found quite modern and spacious. Breakfast was nice with a variety of english breakfast, pancakes and cereals etc. However when it came to lunch and evening meal,we wasn't impressed with what they had on offer. We are not fussy people and we eat most things,we also found it very repetitive. My daughter is not a massive lover of meat, and on some occasions she would go for a vegetarian dish, which she sometimes found fish in it and it never stated so. Also there was a polite notice in the rooms asking guests not to reserve sunbeds,as their towels could be removed. We never actually got a sunbed by the pool as people were reserving beds very early and yet their towels wasn't removed. Overall couldn't be faulted and enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here 14 - 24 October, absolutely fantastic. Speedy check-in, everything explained. Room on third floor with a view of the pool, fridge, kettle, safe and air con all included. Had bad experiences in the past with all inclusive, but this is by far the best ever. Excellent food with plenty of choice at all meals, snacks at the pool bar if you didn't fancy lunch in the restaurant. Pool towels provided, room cleaned every day, beds changed twice and bathroom towels three times. Good entertainment with something different every night. All staff excellent - nothing too much trouble - everything done with a smile. Well worth paying extra to keep the room as we had a late flight. Emma the rep was fantastic - always available to answer any queries and the welcome meeting was excellent. Went on two trips, both very good. Booked this hotel based on previous reviews, glad we did. Can't say anything negative at all and even said the same on the questionnaire we completed on our last day. Would highly recommend this hotel and have done to family, friends and colleagues! Hopefully we'll be back next year.

Room Tip: Book a room on a higher floor with full or limited sea view, well worth it.
