“third time lucky”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this lovely hotel in 13 months and it's still as good as ever. I have written a review both times before and wasn't going to bother this time but after reading the previous review about it being on the runway i thought i had to. Ok, it is close to the airport but so what? we all had to use that aiport to get to Rhodes, and whats a bit of noise when it gets you to such a great, friendly hotel? Thanks again to the lovely Dominik, all his family and friends who work with him to make this hotel such a great place to relax and have a laid back holiday.

Never normally return to places we've been before, but we had such a lovely, relaxing holiday two years ago we had no hesitation when booking again. We recommended Emerald to my brother and partner (Sclats), they booked also and arrived the day before us. We had a fantastic time. The Hotel, rooms, pools, bar and dining areas are spotless and the food is great. But most importantly all the staff, housekeeping, maintenance, bar and management, are all so friendly and make you very welcome.

We just arrived home from Rhodes where we stayed in the Emerald hotel the second we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Spiros who made us feel so welcome, this warm and friendly atmosphere was continued throughout our stay bŷ Dominic,Demmi,Chris,George(9),Theo and his wife and of course Maria and Demitri
The pool area and grounds were spotless and we never had a problem getting sun beds whatever time you got to the pool, when we ate in the Emerald the food was really nice and good value as was the beer,if you come to a place like Rhodes and want to moan about planes trains and autos stay at home, finally great holiday great hotel great people we will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 414 and it was overlooking the courtyard 50 metres from the pool it was very cosy...

Emerald hotel is on the flight path to Rhodes airport! Aircraft noise 7 days a week (day and night). We had paid for a one bedroom apartment with balcony and so we were expecting something decent, unfortunately upon our arrival what we received was significantly inferior to the description and not what we would expect from a Thomson package holiday and we will not be going again, so If at all possible avoid hotel room 314 at all costs as the balcony is small (to say the least) with a view of a wall!!! Upon complaining the lady on reception was less than helpful and then took to avoiding us for the rest of our stay.
Kremasti village is a 20 minute walk from the hotel along a busy road - not advisable to anyone with walking difficulties or young children. Whilst Kremasti is a nice village do not expect a wealth of amenities as they do not exist - enough for essentials only.

Room Tip: You will be ok if you avoid room 314

We are a family of seven. Mixed ages and have just come home after a week spent here.
We had two apartments ,next to each other. Both apartments meet our needs.
Spotless and the maids came in every day to empty bins etc. All the staff were friendly and very welcoming.
We ate at the hotel a few times, but also ate at the Ideal bar, which is very near the Hotel ,and also at a lovely Taverna called Zorbas about a 10 minute walk away from the Hotel.
We were a bit worried before we went as though we had read many good reports on this hotel, there was also a few negative ones.
Our fears were unfounded though. It is near the airport so a lot of planes fly over, but none of us found that a problem and you soon get used to them.
We hired a safe for the week, that was 15 euros. Didn't hire air con though but if we had its 45 euros a week.
Booked our room for later on the day we were leaving. Did this three days before we left and that was no problem, cost was 30 euros.
Though we didn't eat and drink there a lot, when we left Maria, and the other staff all came over to say goodbye. Our eight year old granddaughter Francesca and her younger Brother Elijah.
both got big hugs and they were definitely sad to be leaving.
A big thank you to all at the Emerald for making our holiday a good one.

Our family consisted of 5 Adults and 2 children aged 8 and 6, for this holiday.

Accomodation was clean and functional plus this complex came complete with 3 normal size pools and 1 small.

Food was excellent the times we ate there but a number of tavernas nearby also had good menus, but prices can vary though.
.

The greek evening should not be missed and holiday makers were encouraged to dance
along during the evening.

All the bar staff boys made you feel most welcome, like an extended famiy. Maria in reception
was always helpful and had a lovely sunny disposition.

Comments have been made by other holiday makers about the excessive noise from planes continually going over the hotel towards the airport runway,( which was close by ) and could be distracting for some, but we found it no real problem and were busy just enjoying our holiday.

Our room positions were close to the pool areas and as we came down the steps, you are unaware of one final step ( slightly hidden) and could loose your footing as this can be missed easily, until you realise it's there (just a warning)

Our week's stay was from the 8th to the 15th and during our stay the weather was perfect
with one day particularly hot at around 38 degrees.

A holiday we'll remember

Room Tip: Rooms 106 and 107 are handy for getting quickly to the pool areas.
