We stayed at the Tunturi for 3 nights in mid December and unlike a lot of the reviewers we didn't stay in the Gielas wing. We did ask to be moved there but weren't able to be so I would suggest, if you are travelling as part of a package deal, to check you're in the Gielas wing if you're staying here.
Our block looked a bit like a motel and was quite old fashioned. But that said it was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. We had a kitchen which had all the utensils we needed, a dining area, lounge, bathroom and two en suite bathrooms.
Our room opened directly into a covered walkway that led outside so it was tricky to keep the warmth in when we all traipsed in with snow on our boots but there was a great drying room to get everything dried and a sauna to warm up in!
We didn't have any double beds but the beds were really comfy and we all slept really well.
Unlike the Gielas where you can wander downstairs to breakfast, the block we stayed in was apart from the breakfast room which meant getting everyone in their snow gear to walk over to eat, then have to take it off once in the restaurant which was such an effort with 3 small children. We resorted to one of us going over to pick up food and bringing it back to our room. it was really useful to have our own kitchen though and great to be able to prepare snacks there.
We ate at the dinner buffet which, as vegetarians, was a little limited. We also ate at the main restaurant there and had a lovely meal there - a veggie burger with pesto and some pizzas for the children which we all enjoyed.
I wish I could write a more positive review. We had an absolutely fine stay at the hotel, it was comfortable and clean and did everything we needed it to do. It was just difficult to see everyone in the Gielas wing, which looked so much more plush, who could wander down to breakfast in their casual clothes and who seemed to have a better experience.
