“Wonderfully relaxing but remote location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We travelled to the Evason having spent 3 nights in Bangkok. The journey took approximately 3.5 hours in a minibus and on arrival at reception we went through the usual check in process before being asked whether we could like to upgrade to the palatial six senses side of the resort by Hassan who showed us first to the duplex pool villa which was an additional 2000 tbh (Approx £40) per night and then to the six senses pool villa which cost an additional 3000 tbh per night (Approx £60).We negotiated a deal for the six senses pool villa in which we only paid the upgrade premium for 7 of the 11 nights spent there. The pool villa was fantastic, decent sized pool, nice big bed, 2 shower rooms, 1 sunken bath and an area to chill by the pool. We ate breakfast each morning by the lilly pond and enjoyed breakfast off the a la carte menu served by the informative and friendly Wi and dim sum throughout the day all included in the upgrade premium. The room was cleaned to a very high standard and replenished with fresh fruit. Any issues we had we dealt with in a happy, effective manner by our butler KK who was great throughout our stay and seemed to be available regardless of time. We only once used the communal pool overlooking the sea but 10 minutes in had received a cold towel, fruit and had our sun glasses cleaned! We booked an evening at Chef Manao for the Thai night which included Thai food and dancing and enjoyed it massivlely and would certainly recommend it. The ethos of the six senses is SLOW LIFE and that is certainly what you get at the most relaxing holiday i have ever taken although at times i felt i needed more to do. Outside of the complex is a few bars and restaurants but all close at 22:00 hrs. We tried Mr Sings beach bar where we were looked after well by Mr Sing and his family and the Very good restaurant which serve good food at a fraction of the price of the Evason and six senses food outlets. We also had our laundry done locally by a guy at a stand opposite the beach for a bargain 300 tbh which came back ironed (The Evason and Six senses laundry is very expensive) and hired a scooter off the same guy for 200 tbh per day and went into Pran Buri to shop, eat at Kin Poo seafood restaurant and even on two occasions sat and ate with the local people at the roadside although being the only westerners in the town can be a little intimidating at times. Another must is Hua Hin at night to see the night market and enjoy a few drinks in the red light district where the atmosphere is fantastic. I recommend using a local taxi from Pak Nam Pran to get there but use a Hua Hin taxi to return because they work far later. Check out from the hotel was seamless although we arrived at Bangkok airport for our return flight 3 hours before check in opened!! This was the fault of hotel beds who put me and my partner in a taxi with 2 other people who were flying 2 .5 hours before us. It is situations like this where you miss having a representative from the travel company. All in all The Evason six senses is a relaxing and luxurious hotel with very friendly, helpful hard working staff and one i would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Negotiate an upgrade to the six senses

Dear mvfoe23,

Thank you for taking the time to put finger to keyboard and write your superb review. I am happy to read that you had a completely chilled time with us and enjoyed the villa, food and service. We place a high emphasis on all three so I'm glad they hit the mark. I'm also happy to read that you felt so relaxed, it was difficult to move but I'm glad you did get out and about and see some of the local places nearby.

I'm sure KK will be happy to read your comments and we all look forward to welcoming you back again in the future! Next time - try to fly to Hua Hin on the new air service!

With regards,

Jamie Crisp

We stayed for three nights at the end of a longer trip overseas. It was a perfect, relaxing end toour trip.
The staff are great, the accomodation is lovely and the food was fantastic. We originally booked a villa (these are not really villas, more larger rooms). We upgraded to a pool villa and were so happy we did. Private, relaxing, peaceful and so on . . . . Also, the massage we had was well worth it!

Dear bdayvday,

I'm glad that we were able to offer you some rest and relaxation at the end of your tour!

I'm not able to track the room type you booked as I don't know who you are!! However, just to clarify for any other guests reading the comments the room and villa types we have at the resorts are as follows:

Evason Hua Hin - Evason Room, Evason Studio, Evason Sea View Studio and Evason Pool Villa.
Six Senses Hua Hin - Duplex Pool Villa Suite, Pool Villa, Pool Villa Suite.

I'll also pass your comments on to the Spa!!

We have just come back from Evason, where we spent 10 fantastic days with our daughter aged 4. We flew from the UK, the travellling time was about 20 hours from home to hotel,(be aware the road transfer to Hua Hin is 3 and half hours not 2 as in many UK brochures) but it was really worth the effort. The resort is lovely, tidy, clean. We stayed in a Studio room with a King bed and a day bed for the child. We were offered a reduced rate pool villa upon arrival but decided that the pool was too close to the room door for 4yr... plus she might of gone home with webbed feet !... We found the hotel food excellent value for money, compared to UK 4* star hotels. Yes you can eat cheaper outside the resort. We did take the shuttle to Hua Hin, to the night market, where we ate in the street resturants, loved it so much that we visited Hua HIn in the evening on 4 out 10 nights. The kids club was great, the staff were very friendly, especially on her first time as she was the only one there... The Beach .. well its ok.. plenty of crabs to watch. At low tidy it is very shallow and safe.
We took a day boat trip on the Mai Tai, this was brillant fun.. a good mixture of people from all over the world. Nice food. We visited a remote beach and a temple. In the afternoon we stopped to do some fishing... the lovely guys on the boat made my daughter a line from a water bottle with a hook, and to the amazement of all on the boat she caught 7 fish !!
Amazing holiday - will be back ...

Room Tip: studio rooms are good size for family sleep 1 child or 2 if under 6 and could share.. Seaview studio...

Hi Sue B,

Thanks a lot for your comments and I'm glad you all had a great time staying with us. There is a new flight service from Bangkok to Hua Hin now too which would cut the journey down considerably! It's with Thai Regional Airlines and at the moment have just 1 flight daily.

We have bunk beds available for Sudios and Pool Villas so if you do have 2 next time, we can easily accommodate you all!!!

Thanks again, until the next time!

I totally love the hotel , you can feel out of the real world because of the quietness something you can't find somewhere else, the furniture was shabby style and totally comfortable , all the pictures and the review i have read them before I travelled was exactly as what I saw I love how they deal with environment and using all organic stuff

Having previously stayed at the Evason Hua Hin 7 times, I can honestly say that our most recent trip was just as fabulous!

Nothing is too much trouble for Khun Alan (MD) and his team. We had to postpone our planned anniversary trip and this was done with the utmost understanding and even though we were a week later than planned, with said anniversary having come and gone; celebratory chocolates were still placed in our room to mark the occasion! The rooms are impeccable - instant relaxation with room service being amazing, always delivered fresh and hot (something we are continually surprised at considering most hotel's failures in this area.

Service, as always, was fantastic! A very special thank you goes to our butler Khun Kai and the team who hosted what has to be the best In-Villa BBQ I have had yet. The attention to detail simply blows you away.

Its the small things that matter in a resort like this and Evason are always right on the mark. Put it this way, my husband and I have traveled the world, stayed in many a 5/6 star hotel and yet we are already planning our 8th trip back (this time, I am afraid we may never leave)!

Room Tip: Go for a pool villa suite every time - the privacy and space is well worth it

room lovely, supplied mosquito repellent plug in, + incense burner for outside. staff very obliging and friendly. lovely grounds, restaurant/breakfast meals awesome. Not a lot to do in Pranburi, no supermarket but you can get a tuk tuk to Tesco quite cheaply. hotel bus to Hua Hin has to be booked in advance and will cost 200baht each way, can be limiting unless you know what time you're returning, otherwise taxi will be about £20 return. Evason is fantastic if you want to chill out and unwind, the pool is well set out and spacious. would gladly return for another visit

Room Tip: we stayed in a studio top floor looking to reception, nice view and quiet

Evason Hua Hin is a great place if you want to get away from hectic city life. It has everything you need there: spa, activities, bar, restaurant. I'm impressed by the choices of tasty breakfast they offered! Service is perfect. Hotel's staff are very polite, helpful, friendly and they always greet you with smile. The room is clean and very eco-friendly, but I expect the room to be in a little better condition. The bathroom is a little too small and a little old. Maybe it doesn't suit my taste. Anyways, with comfy clean bed, it's considered a great stay. It's considered as one of the most relaxing weekend I've had this year!
