Milford Paradise is set in a peaceful and beautiful location on the beach with a 4 km beach running alongside some natural forest reserve. We have been coming almost annually since 1995 and have always enjoyed the natural beauty and peace and quiet of the place until the last few years.
It is now frequented by schools and big companies using the hotel section as training and school trips. So you will often find 200-300 Thai staff and/or children playing organised games by the pool and/or on the beach causing absolute mayhem and excessive noise. They come equipped with bongo drums, megaphones and hunting horns and you can hear them up to 1 km away. Even with our door closed and A/C it still rocked the room. Then in the evening they have parties at the outside bar with bands blaring out Thai music until 11pm. Then the drunken party revelers will still be making noise till up to 2am by the beach and pool. It is hell.
This trip we have endured 2 out of 4 day and night sessions of the above so far. Today a group arrived and started their megaphone and bongo session at 9 am and another group of 200 school children are arriving and are being directed by teachers with megaphones as I write this review by the pool at 11.30am. We were planning 7 nights here but will probably be checking out tomorrow as our nerves are frayed.
Complaining will achieve nothing as there is never any manager on hand and so the desk staff just do nothing.
So give this place a miss unless you like excess noise and drunken revelers because phoning in ahead to see if big groups are staying did not work for us this time.
