“Breathtaking Location Spectacular Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Having travelled to many locations around the world, this Lodge in my opinion has it all. It has all the facilities needed for a quiet relaxed and restful stay/holiday. Situated at one of natures most spectacular locations amongst the hills and dunes of the Namibian Desert. The owners are both friendly and extremely helpful. it is a must for at least a couple of night stay just to take in the Namibian changing landscape/wildlife, and experience the hospitality. The food is excellent and the ambience memorable.
From your the lodge the terrain changes as the sun light moves across the dunes and hills. At night the stars are touchable and a sight to behold.
Thank you both for most wonderful stay. Next time we decide to just come north we will stay longer.

We spend a night at the Lodge. The setting of the lodge, including accomodation (tents), bar (sundowner deck) and restaurant is spectacular and the view fantastic. However, the lodge lacks that special touch and I am thus unsure if it can be recommended. The food was standard and although the staff was friendly, it was difficult to get basics e.g. hot water for coffee in the morning. The bar only stocks standard drinks. It is not value for money. Pity!

Room Tip: Choose the standard rooms as they face more westwards for sundown.

Stayed in this very unique hotel in mid July with a tour. The owners were very friendly and we were warmly welcomed by many staff with a cold towel upon arrival. The location of the hotel was up on a hill and we felt like the earth was under our feet. All guests were treated to high tea with excellent cakes as we waited for the sunset. Sunset was very pretty and there were many many stars at night. There was a TV room next to the lobby.

All the rooms of the hotel were tent-like and we were being assigned the no. 1 room at the farthest end which required a little bit of climbing uphill. It turned out there was a small dip pool next to the house/tent where guests could enjoy the view in the pool without anybody else seeing them. Also to our surprise, our room was huge with the bathroom as big as the bedroom suite. There was a bathtub as well as a shower and water was very hot. There was even a closet inside the bathroom and two chairs. The bed was high and very comfortable. As the lights in the room were quite dim, we borrowed a electric lamp which was also useful when we walked back from main lobby to our room after dark.

Dinner was rather slow and quality of food mediocre. However, at breakfast, the chef tried very hard to make good omlette, sausages and bacons. Although the hotel said it provided free WiFi, connection was never possible during our stay.

Overall, it was quite an unforgettable experience.

The lodge is set on the side of a mountain and commands unbelievable views. It is totally still and tranquil. The cabins are beautifully furnished, well equipped and comfortable. It is the perfect place to take time and enjoy the wide expanses of Namibia. the food was great and the staff attentive. I would highly recommend a visit.

What a breathtaking view this place has! Although it was freezing cold the one night that we stayed, the hospitality was warm and friendly. The hosts and their staff were very attentive to our needs. The luxury tented accommodation we stayed in is nicely decorated, the bedding very comfy. The food was great – clean plates all around! Thank you Nicolas and Michele!
