This is a beautiful property (much more so than the photos suggest) and is clean and the rooms nice. I loved the quirky decor. It wasn't as close to the dunes as we had expected but an OK drive. We stayed in a variety of hotels, inns, resorts during our trip to Namibia and while on first glance this looked like it had what we had come to expect and appreciate, the vibe was just not right. We received our welcome drink but none of the "what can we do to make your stay special" offerings that every other place naturally granted. No information on activities, horse rides, etc. was volunteered. If we wanted an answer to a question, we could track someone down and get it but it just seemed like an effort. The staff was all polite but very reserved, it almost seemed like they were on guard the whole time. The biggest negative feeling came from the manager, no idea of her name because she never took the time to introduce herself. She would just prance in and perch herself on a stool behind the bar and tap away on her phone. Any of the staff that was trying to be warm and friendly to the guests would immediately freeze up when she entered the room. Strange.
