“AMAZING”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

We stayed here in October and got a really good deal from there website. We loved everything about the apartment!! The apartments are self contained which is good as we didn't want to eat out every night. Even though it was too cold to swim the view of the pool was lovely to walk out to every morning (changes colours at night- pretty cool). From the top floor we could see a view of Ornos beach (nice beach when not windy) and is only 100m away from the apartments. there is a few restaurants and a supermarket near by too. The apartments are only a 10min drive into Mykonos- we caught the bus in most day which you can get on at Ornos beach. Elanie the receptionist was very lovely- she would always check on us and help us with whatever we needed and speaks very good english. There are also car parks if you hire a car.

Negatives: Breakfast was the same everyday (bread and jams) and the Wifi kept cutting out.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a sea view

We stayed at Villa del Sol in September and had the most fantastic week. From the minute we landed everything was perfect. We were picked up by a lovely guy and taken swiftly to our Villa. We loved our villa, everything was immaculate and all the villas are facing the pool. It was our first holiday with a baby and they really helped us with cot and highchair. The villa was cleaned thoroughly everyday by lovely staff. There is a lovely bakery 5mins walk away and a supermarket and of course the beach is about 1 min away with beautiful restaurants. Its a lovely quiet area but 10mins away is Mykonos town which is fantastic. Everywhere in Mykonos is stylish including Villa del Sol. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for two nights before flying home after visiting other Greek islands. The holiday was a 60th birthday present from my partner and the stay here was to be the icing on the cake. Sadly that was not the case. The pick up from the port was late. My partner had paid for an upgrade with sea view. The sea view was a joke, you could just about see the sea between the buildings in front of the villas, and the upgrade was an extra bedroom !! We had to move the bed to open the patio doors the bedroom was so small. There was a short walk down to the beach. My heart sank as we reached it, rows and rows of sunbeds and umbrellas, people packed in like sardines. I think we had been spoilt by the other wonderful Greek Islands and beaches.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a sea view, you won't get one worth having.

very good service overall, the staff people were really gentle and helpfull.
nice and simple decoration, 3 bathrooms in the flat which was really convenient.
the kitchen is fully equiped so you can easily cook everything you want if thats your style
the flats were really clean and we had cleaning service every afternoon, which was really convenient since we were out all night and slept until late.
fresh sheets and towels everyday
the swimming pool was very clean and it is very convenient for families and elder people since you can walk inside from one side like on a beach without using stairs etc

it is 100m max from the flat to the wonderful beach of Ornos. there is also a convenient store 50m from the flat which stays open till late and all kinds of restaurants on the beach

only complaint is the lack of some signs on the road. it took us some time to find it the first day

overall a wonderful 1 week vacation there, and we plan to visit it again next year

Room Tip: nothing much to say. all flats have great view from the 1st floor balcony and have access to the poo...

fantastic stylish and spacious villas situated around a stunning pool just one street back from the beach. very relaxing and I loved having no hassle of beach chair provided on the beach free of charge and a lot to choose from around the pool. Accomodation perfect for family.Nice and quiet and also double glazed windows and shutters too so u are guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Villas have only small sea view from second story bedroom. Ornos beach is also beautiful great for families and there were so many dining options to choose from or a very short bus trip into main town. They could improve the facilities in the kitchens by providing a bread board and decent knife. ..And our main shower head was broken off wall...Tiny quibble... We were sad to leave

Room Tip: Ask for a room with direct pool access

My partner and I have just returned from a 7 night stay at Villa Del Sol... there's only one word to describe our stay, perfect!

From start to finish our holiday was a dream. We arrived at Mykonos airport to find our host awaiting us ready to drive us direct to the quaint apartment villa complex. After a pleasant 10 minute drive we arrived. Our luggage was whisked away to our villa apartment and having settled in we were invited to enjoy welcome drinks (which we skipped because we were too excited to explore the place, with a 30 second stroll to the beach - who could blame us!?).

The villa apartment was impeccable throughout. Spread across three floors, the two bed-roomed accommodation was ideal for our needs. With two outdoor seating areas and three bathrooms there was plenty of room. The rooms are decorated in a chic yet rustic style, sympathetic to traditional Greek culture. Take a look at the pics, as they speak for themselves! We received a twice daily clean and turn down service free of charge too, so the apartment always remained clean despite being so close to the beach.

The location of the complex is great. Situated just by the beach, which had a host of beautiful traditional restaurants, there's a bus service, local shop and plenty of other holiday services, such a car hire, all within a short walking distance. We were also surprised by how easy it was to get to Mykonos Town, which is a mere 5 minute drive away.

In all Ornos and Villa Del Sol is fab for anyone wanting a relaxing break on a unique, laid back and stylish island. From the glorious weather to the friendly locals, stunning beaches and breath taking scenery our week in Mykonos will certainly take some beating!

Thanks to all at Villa Del Sol for a fantastic stay, we'll be back!

Travel dates 20th-27th April.
My fiance and I were transferred to these villas when we were told on arrival at Mykonnos airport that our hotel wasn't yet ready, hence the title of this review. (Lesson 1, do not travel to a Greek island before they have celebrated their Easter!)
However, our natural disappointment at this news was soon lifted on arrival at the villas which were actually just to the rear of our intended destination. We were met by the lovely Tania who showed us to our villa/apartment whilst her staff took care of the luggage.

The complex, which is situated about 100m from the sandy beach and bay of Ornos, consists of a good sized (though unheated) swimming pool, surrounded on two sides by 2 blocks of 6, 2 bedroom apartments, finished typically in brilliant white render on the walls with typical Greek deep blue window shutters.

The first thing to say about the apartments is simply that they were immaculate. From the front patio area with table and chairs, through the french doors to the lounge and kitchen area, upstairs to the first floor bedroom with its large balcony (also with table and chairs) and bathroom, through to the top floor bedroom and bathroom, everywhere was spotlessly clean.
The rooms all have air-conditioning and all the windows are doubled glazed and have a vent system for allowing a nice flow of air whilst still remaining secure. There were toilet facilities on all 3 floors, although these are obviously still connected to the limited Greek sewerage system so the usual "paper in the bin" ritual applies, (something I personally find strange in a civilised western country in the 21st century.)
The kitchen was more than adequate for self catering guests with a kettle, and good sized fridge, sink and cooker. Disappointingly though there was no microwave. In the lounge there was also a flat screen TV (with satellite connection but no English channels) and a hair dryer in the 1st floor bathroom. There was also free wi-fi. Furnishings by IKEA of Athens it seems throughout
The 2 bedrooms both have adjoining bathrooms with shower, sink and toilet facilities (Not en-suite) and fitted wardrobes with a small supply of hangers. The "main" bedroom as I have said, had a large balcony with a limited sea view and with a table and chairs, which was accessed by french doors. It also had an extremely comfortable bed. Unfortunately, the bed seemed to be too big for the room so that you couldn't actually open the doors fully AND shut the bedroom door without moving the bed! The top floor bedroom also had a strange setup with the window being at floor level for some reason and the top of which only came up to your knees (which would be perfect if you had eyes in your shins!) This subsequently made this room appear somewhat dark. There were 2 twin beds in this room. Both bedrooms also had ample bedside tables.
All in all though, despite some of the difficulties and quirks expressed above, what really makes this place for me and the main reason for our 5 stars was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, particularly our host and manager Tania. She visited us everyday to see if everything was in order and gave us lots of advice about which places may be open, (many places aren't at this time of year so like I said, go after their Easter) She also gave us advice about some places we might like to visit whilst we were there (it was our first time on the island) and offered to arrange car hire, taxi's etc. She even helped me improve my limited Greek. There was also a young lady who's name I never found out but she came to clean the apartment EVERY day. Not just a quick brush and wipe around either, a proper clean, top to bottom AND she changed not just the towels but the bed linen too, every day, even the day before we were due to leave! She also brought us a lovely basket each morning with a breakfast selection in because we should have had bed and breakfast at the unfinished hotel across the way.

So, Likes,
I would have to say the cleanliness, facilities and location of the apartments but mainly the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff.
Dislikes,
The darkness of the top floor room (which we didn't use anyway) Lack of a microwave, although to be fair I never even asked for one, so chances are they may well have provided one if I'd asked. (they did provide some pans and a frying pan when I asked!)
The pool was a little on the cold side as it was unheated and it was April but then so was the sea! (lesson 2 I think)

I would certainly stay here again but a little later in the season obviously. In fact the refurbishment of our intended hotel was completed and the room was actually ready by the Wed of our stay. Suffice to say that was actually stunning but apart from annoying us a little when we saw what we should have had (which, after all was what I'd booked and paid for) we still opted to stay where we were simply because we liked it here that much.

ps. I would also recommend the restaurant "Kostantis" on the sea front too. Not only were the food selection, price and atmosphere by far the best of our stay but, also when the owner was told by Tania (who was in the bar) who we were and where we were staying he gave us a very nice 10% discount! (It seems he owns the villa's too!) Nice one Tania.
Other good restaurants we found were "Raya" in Chora harbour front which also seemed extremely popular with the locals and the Italian bar/restaurant "Bellagio" in Ornos town which although a bit pricey does do some nice food. (Also has free wi-fi!)

Room Tip: We stayed in Apts at the end of the pool. (Apt 5) These get the early morning sun which lasted until...
