“Aircraft information.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

The museum gives a great overview of the history of the town. We educated the people there about Richard Pierse and his aeronautical exploits.

“Great museum and well run”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

The volunteers running the place are absolutely charming and enthusiastic about their town and its history. Among the most interesting displays was James Gillingham who pioneered artificial limbs and photographed and dopcumented each of his hundreds of cases. Inspiring.

“A Tardis!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

There are lots of separate areas all crammed with local history and social history items. Allow lots of time if you want to see everything.

An interesting Museum! Well set out - neat and clean. The ladies at the desk were so friendly and happy to talk about Chard and its history.

“Rainy day (or even if fine)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

Chard Museum in Chard, Somerset, is really worth a visit. It doesn't look much from outside but it's stuffed full of interesting things. Did you know that Chard is the birth place of powered flight, or that it was among the first to make the first artificial limbs
