“Great time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2009

We stayed at Watermead as we had a wedding in the local area. We had a perfect two days, the B&B is just off the main high street so close to the shops and market. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The owners are lovely and very friendly , the breakfast was great too. The only strange thing was that the shower cubicle was in the bedroom, luckily I was staying with my partner so it wasn't a problem with privacy , but if you don't like showering in the same room as someone else you would have to leave the room whilst the other person got ready....

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2009

We stayed for 4 nights in July. Chard is a good location for exploring west Dorset, east Devon and south Somerset.
The room was clean and the beds very comfy. Great breakfasts using quality local produce.
Trudy and David were excellent hosts, very helpful with very useful recommendations for local eating places and places to visit. I would unreservedly recommend this B&B.

Watermead Guest House is a lovely B&B in the much underrated town of Chard. The house is lovely and cosy, rooms are very clean and of a good size. Trudy and David are lovely, chatty hosts and couldn't have been nicer. Great location in town, you are close to everything, but quiet and peaceful at the same time. Breakfast was lovely, as was the breakfast room. Highly recommended.

  • Liked — The friendly service from Trudy and David, the lovely roomy breakfast room, the location

We stayed here for 3 nights in August , after receiving a very warm welcome we checked in and settled into our rooms, they were very clean , modern and spacious . The guest house is situated off the main road so is always peaceful and quiet.
The breakfast was made from fresh local produce , nicely cooked and plenty of it !
This guest house is very good value for money and we could not fault it in any way , will be sure to return there soon .
Trudy and David were very friendly and helpful , nothing was too much trouble.
