“Hospitality, atmosphere, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

Our family of 3 stayed at Casale le Pergole the first week of June. Lorenzo was prepared for us with a special request for an extra bed that I had forgotten about since it was set up in January via email. Our experience here was magical. The views from the terrace were amazing, the food was fabulous, and Lorenzo's genuine love for what he does shines through!

We returned from busy days of touring to a great terrace where we could enjoy the beautiful views and a great bottle of local wine.

Lorenzo gave several suggestions for medieval towns we could visit that were less crowded with tours. We saw Arrezo and Poppi upon his recommendations and had an amazing time in both. I don't think we would have seen Poppi without him!

Over all, of all of the places we stayed in Italy on our travels, Casale le Pergole holds a very special place in our hearts....thoroughly enjoyable!

We stayed here in May on a special three-night deal (room, breakfast and dinner for €158 pp). I must say that it was worth every eurocent. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished, and there was enough room in the wardrobe to hang our clothes - very welcome, if you are touring as we were and have to take account of all kinds of weather conditions! Dinner was excellent and servings large - for me, at least. I especially liked the pumpkin lasagne. Breakfast was adequate, but if you're looking for a gourmet buffet breakfast, this is not the place for you. Unfortunately, the weather was poor while we were there, so we didn't have the opportunity to try out the swimming pool, or go hiking in the area, which is truly gorgeous. However, Florence is a short train journey away, and places like Siena, Arezzo and Lucca are within easy reach. If you're looking for peace and quiet well away from the crowds, this is the place for you. You do, however, need a car. Multilingual Lorenzo is a charming host. Casale le Pergole is a really nice place and highly recommended. We'll certainly be going back there.

If you are planning to visit Florence, stay here instead of in town.
We stayed here as the last stop on a 5 day road trip during Easter March 2013. The property is just stunning and a nice mix of relaxing, romantic and serene. The weather prevented us from enjoying all this property had to offer-- do come here when you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the wonderful views.
Note: No Credit Cards. No Wifi.
1. The Room: We had a lovely room with a loft, spacious bathroom. Beds were perfect and there was even a couch for us to rest on. The rafters were spotless and everything functioned well.
2. The dinner was delicious and worth experiencing. They didn't mind that we had already purchased our own wine.
3.There was an outdoor seating area that looks heavenly for early fall, late spring, and summer months.
4. The staff was welcoming, courteous and helpful. We needed to depart early the next morning and he was waiting for us the moment we exited our room. We really appreciated his kindness, generous hospitality and free gift (when you print out coupon from the website) of homemade cookies!!!!
5. The breakfast was good with several toast, cake, coffee and tea options. It was fair since it was included in the price but not the most impressive we saw on our trip.
6. I suggest this place to a group of friends who want to "get away". There is a bus stop right outside the hotel so you can even stay here without a car (although it's very easy to arrive here by car). There are some really nice open spaces and beautiful places to pass an evening chatting.

Overall, I highly suggest a visit here because you will get the beauty of the landscape with the ease of going into Florence.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We stayed here in August 2012 and had a fantastic break. Lorenzo was an excellent host, more than happy to go out of his way to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Our room was gorgeous and impeccably clean. The view from the veranda where breakfast and dinner are served was quite simply to die for. We booked half board and were very impressed by the quality of the food, which was all home-cooked with local produce and very delicious. The pool was perfect, and made for an extremely welcome respite from the hot Tuscan weather. The remote location added to the relaxtion factor, however I'd highly recommend hiring a car to be able to explore Florence and the surrounding towns. A word to the wise, though: the rooms have no aircon, and it gets very hot during the summer. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Lack of aircon meant we had trouble sleeping

I can highly recommend this place to go and relax. The views are breathtaking, the location excellent, the host most welcoming and the service great. Its located a half an hour (by car) outside of Florence near the town of Sieci. Supermarkets are close by in Sieci and Pontassieve if you need it, Florence easy to reach by train and the beautiful routes of Tuscany to places like Sienna and San Gignimiamo easily accessible (although if you plan on driving in Italy, you need to be quite cool headed and prepared). The host, Lorenzo is very welcoming, helpful and speaks English well. Breakfast was included in our rate, typical Italian breakfast with cakes, toast, Nutella, home made jams, honey, cereals and good coffee. Eggs etc can be ordered at an extra cost. The dinners (by booking) are excellent. They use produce from their farm and other local farms, and their chef is really superb introducing you to real Italian meals. Dinner consist of the typical four course at a reasonable price. Laundry service is available too. We stayed in the apartment away from the main house with one bedroom, lounge and small kitchenette. It was really a awesome experience and can't wait to return. They have a beautiful area to sit and relax or for meals plus a pool. We went with our two toddlers aged 3 and 1 and they loved it!

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a family, ask for the apartment away from the house
