“Relaxation in paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2010

The accomodation is fantastic and at a price that leaves money for the spectacular restaurants to be found at 'The Gap'. Here you can enjoy some of the finest restaurants to be found on the island or simply go for an old fashioned pint of cool beer and a great steak. All within 5 minutes walk of Coral Sands.
The hotel has a fantastic pool by the beach, friendly staff and a bar that serves cool drinks at a good price.
The hotel team are long serving, professional and friendly, here, 'No pressure no problem' is the catch word.
Give this place a go and don't be dissapointed, all rooms face the beach, each has a large balcony and the rooms have 2 king beds, kitchen and a large bathroom with double shower.
A hotel that offers quality for couples and families alike.

Coral Sands has the best location on the island. It is in a walking distance from the famous Big B supermarket (You are going to need to visit it because eating out is very expensive and the quality disappointing!) and 10 m from ST Lawrence Gap! There are buses outside the hotel taking you to any point on the island, the price is always the same: B$1.50.
The rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you need. All rooms have balconies facing the sea. The view is amazing! The beach is right outside your door and unlike other beaches on the west, there are NO poisonous trees on this one.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have got a better hotel!

We originally booked DIVI SOUTHWINDS which on arrival was not what we were after at all, so we took a walk along the beach and finally came to a place called Worthing in which Coral Sands was located. We saw the building over lookin the beautiful beach, went in and had a look at one of the rooms. They had superb views, lovely double beds, lovely clean bathroom and double shower and above all right on the beach. We took the room and had a truly exceptional holiday. The staff were lovely, the locaion was perfect and the resort was just what we required. it was quite quiet, but truly relaxing and i would recommend anybody to stay there...

My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Coral Sands in October of 2002 for 7 days. We had initally booked at the Accra Beach Resort down the road, but found it under construction, so we took taxi on a tour hitting all the hotels between the Accra and Turtle Beach.

I have to admit, that we were stunned by what a great deal the Coral Sands was, great suite rooms, great views, a very large beach area (with an excellent swimming area). I found my self asking the front desk two or three times that the price was per room not per person, needless to say we saved a bundle.

The resturaunt is nice, but I would reccomend heading towards the GAP where there a ton of great places to eat.

The hotel has a free internet connection in the office for guests to use... if you must, and the housekeeping staff is very generous with the towles. And they have an area for showering and luggage storage for your last day if you have a late flight.

When we go back to barbados, we'll be staying at the Coral Sands...

We stayed on the south coast at the Coral Sands Beach Resort. I cant truly express what a wonderful resort this is. All rooms are beachfront suites with a large private balcony. They all have full kitchens with utensils, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, satellite TV, and even remote control air conditioning. The private pool has a bar and padded lounge chairs with an access gate directly to Sandy Beach. There is a fresh water shower next to the gate to rinse sand and salt. The entire 31 room resort is immaculate and with an off season rate of only US$140 per night it is really a very good deal. You can check it out for yourself at http://coralsandsresort.com In addition to being on one of the nicest beaches on the island, you are within a ten minute walk to all the nightlife and restaurants at the St. Lawrence Gap. A two minute walk in the opposite direction brings you to the Big B supermarket where you can load up your full size fridge with food and the beverages of your choice. Although Coral Sands has its own restaurant, we chose to try a variety of other establishments. Without going into menu details other than to say that it only makes sense to try the fish dishes if you are on a Caribbean island, we ate at and were very pleased with the following establishments which are within walking distance from Coral Sands; Shells, Pisces, Bellinis, and The Ship. If you are looking for something to take back to your room after a long day out, try the pizza place in front of the Coral Sands or pick up a whole roasted chicken to go at Big Bs. Either of these are fine while sitting on your balcony, overlooking the beach and ocean, with an ice cold Banks, the locally brewed beer. Another very pleasant surprise for me was opening up our balcony door upon arrival and seeing the 32 foot cabin cruiser Scotch-N'-Soda moored directly in front of me. I had made arrangements to dive with Ram Edghill, the owner/operator, prior to my trip but I had no idea that it was only a 30 second walk to his boat. I wont go iver, and your staying on the south coast, you absolutely must dive with Ram. He is an island treasure. If you eat at The Ship in St. Lawrence Gap, read the inscriptions on the salvaged cannons in the entrance. For those of you who want more dive info, please feel free to email me. As you may have noticed, everything Ive mentioned so far has been within walking distance which was wonderful. However, there is much more to see on the island. A call to the front desk had us set up with a car and driver for a day of sightseeing. There were several locations that we wanted to see and discussed this with our very friendly driver who made other suggestions which hadnt occurred to us. We did the tram through Harrisons Cave which was very interesting, a trip to a 1600s windmill powered sugarcane mill, and spent a lot time walking through the Flower Forest of Barbados. I consider the Flower Forest a must do. From this point on we let Mr. Chin, our driver, show us the island as only a native knows it. We went from 'off the beaten path' scenic overlooks to hidden gullies which few tourists see. We saw housing which ranged from poverty shacks to rich folk mansions. A lunch stop and a few cold Banks made this day the highlight of Marys trip (mine was diving the Stav but this was a very close second). Yes, it cost a bit more to hire a private driver for an island tour but, in my opinion, it is worth it. We saw things and met people that would never happen on one of the packaged island tours.

Having stayed in a hotel in Barbados for 4 previous holidays, we noticed that the standard was dropping, so decided to change the hotel for the latest holiday. It was the best thing we did. The Coral Sands has excellent rooms, (specious and clean) with beautiful views, couldn't have been better. We went early October, just after the twin towers where hit, so understandably things where a little quiet. The Coral Sands is a lovely haven away from any immediate hustle and bustle, but within easy walking distance of restaurants and nightlife. Would definitely stay there again.
