“Brilliant holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

We loved La Plage and had a fantastic holiday! We stayed in a tent with Eurocamp, it has everything we needed and meant that we didn't have to take all of our own things! It was great for us with a toddler.

The site is brilliant and great for toddlers. It was so quiet and peaceful and had great facilities. The swimming pool was nice and there was a shop just towards the beach which had everything you needed and lovely fresh bread every morning. The toilet block was so clean, there were cleaners there constantly! There were also great little baths for babies and toddlers.

The beach was a 2 minute walk away which was brilliant! We could just wander between there and the site. It was so picturesque - such a lovely place! There were also some lovely walks along the coast in both directions.

It was also handy for Carnac and Trinite Sur Mer and some amazing beaches and hidden places. We loved exploring. We are definitely going to return to this area next year! We would highly recommend this site :)

Our family aged 33, 32 and 5 have just returned from our holiday at La Plage. We went with Eurocamp and stayed in a static caravan with a deck. The van was clean and the reps were great. There was room to park the car on our pitch and we were supplied with a gas barbecue and a clothes airer. The pitches are divided by hedges so you have a little privacy.

The site is lovely, easy access to the beautiful beach, safe for kids to enjoy with minimal supervision and clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool is good, it can get crowded and isn't always as well supervised as one might like but sticking with your child in the pool sorts that problem. Our son really enjoyed the children's activities, nothing fancy just crafts and the chance to hang out with other children. One word if warning, if it suggests they'll be doing painting, be prepared. Our son came back covered and the paint that was used is not washable - even white spirit at home won't shift it!

There were evening activities which we didn't go to. The boys tried the mini golf which they enjoyed.

Super U is 5 mins drive away and is good but manic - go early in the morning.

The real highlight of this site is the beach. At low tide it's rockpools with crabs galore and lots of space for games/castle building, as the tide comes in it's safe for swimming. The trampolines and bouncy castle area is great value. €5 for 30 mins of bouncy fun. You don't need to stand around waiting, we picked a spot nearby and enjoyed some frisbee.

We bought croissants and bread everyday from the beach shop. There's a big queue when it first opens but if you leave it just a little later the queue is a lot smaller.

We ate at the restaurant for lunch one day and the quality is good and it seemed pretty good value. Most days we just left our little camp on the beach and walked back to our van for lunch and came back. As the pool is closed during the middle of the day we would usually swim in the evening until 7pm.

Overall this is a great holiday that we all loved.

Lovely resort. Very clean, helpful staff, great beach within walking distance and fab pool with slides for the kids!! Excellent holiday destination!! Very quiet and relaxing. Not a lot to do in the evening but not something we wanted.

Room Tip: Every pitch has a hedge border, so all very private.

What a perfect campsite!!!

We booked to stay at this site, with our Touring Caravan, based on reviews we had read on various Review Sites, definitely not disappointed. The welcome from the reception staff was first class and they could not have been more helpful if they tried. They directed us to our pitch which was more than big enough for our unit, water and waste on each pitch made life very easy. The site itself was immaculate, the WC's, showers and washing up areas were always clean and there was always plenty of hot water. As stated by previous reviewers, the pool opening times were bizarre, but the reasons for this were fully explained by the reception staff which made for good PR.
This site seems well suited to adults, although children are made more than welcome. If you have a family you may wish to consider the sister site, Camping De La Baie, which is only 100 metres or so from this site and would appear to cater more for families.
Both sites share common Bar, Restaurant, shop and take-away facilities, which are located on the nearby beach, about 100 metres away. The Restaurant/Bar, Aux Terrasses De La Plage, offers a good selection of food and has quite a varied menu which we found good value for money. The real attaraction of this particular Restaurant/Bar is its location, overlooking a beautiful sweeping white sandy beach, where you can sit on one of its terraces and sip a refreshing cool drink, just watching the world go by.
The site is conveniently located for all the nearby Tourist Attractions and there is also a reasonably sized Super U just outside Carnac, a 10 minute drive away.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this site and the area generally and we will be considering Camping De La Plage again for next year.

POINTS TO NOTE IF USING A SAT NAV AND TOWING A CARAVAN

After passing the sign for 'La Trinite Sur Mer' continue on to the first set of Traffic Lights. Follow the Road Signs for 'CAMPINGS'. At the next set of Traffic Lights, your Sat Nav may indicate to go straight on, DON'T!!!!! the road is not suitable for towing a large caravan. instead bear right and follow the Road Signs for 'La Baie' & 'La Plage' After approximately 150 - 200 metres, turn left, again following the signs for 'La Baie' & 'La Plage' Keep following the signs for approximately 1 mile to find the site on your right.

The entrance is very tight, see my photos, and it may be prudent to keep on to the next mini roundabout approx. 50 metres down the road, where you can turn around to create a wider turning arc to enter the site.

Another point to note about Camping De La Plage, it has a one way system so you have to leave via a set of gates near the bottom of the site. This exit leads onto a narrow lane and is quite restrictive for large units, so you would have to be very vigilant when leaving, so as not to catch the rear right hand side of your caravan when turning left into the lane.

We have just come back from a 10 night stay at this campsite. The location is great with a fantastic beach which has a tide though so swimming can be limited in the sea. The pool is sectioned into two parts and is open to the elements. There is supervision but has been pointed out in previous reviews, the time is limited to 9-11 in the morning and then 3-7 in the evening and this did not stop the Brits and others from leaving their towels on the sunloungers even when being amongst the first people to arrive for the afternoon session to find very few loungers available. There are lots of things available to hire, from bicycles to kayaks from reception and also the daily weather forecasts. Staffr are really good because they helped out with an electricity issue and also when we needed to be relocated as we were originally on pitch 163 near the second toilet/shower block and and it was frankly a mess and when the rain came it was basically unusable so we had to move, as the sand they had put down could not cover it up. The second pitch we went to was fine as the people were just leaving but it was raining at the time so our tent was not totally dry. However, it was a big improvement on the other pitch. They have events for children and later at night for adults but we did not really need to use them. A final thing about the pitches and the general campsite layout is that the pitches are generally well separated and although size was variable, a number of people wandered around looking for next year's pitch and this site is visited on a consistent basis by a large number of people.

The shop, restaurant and pizzeria are all offsite at the other end of the beach, not too far away but still a five minute walk. The restaurant is good for general offering and it seemed that booking was preferable if you wanted a good seating. The shop opened at 8.30 every morning for bread and pastries and a queue was evident each day. A baggette cost 0.90 so not cheap but it was good. The shop also sold various things such as milk so basic supplies were available. The pizzeria was also quite good and we also used this once.

A note about the slides near the pool, they are not policed well although I would not be surprised if this did not change following an accident that happened just before we left when a child cut had a cut at the skull and was attended by a camper who was a first aider and also another camper who is a doctor. The site is fairly well signposted although map and sat-nav can be helpful. Walking into La Trinite sur mer was fairly easy as long as you knew the route from the campsite and up the pathways to the coastal path and the path from the beach around the headland was interesting as well. Being not far from Carnac, Auray (a pretty old harbour area), and Vannes is an advantage if you wanted more that just the beach and pool life, and we would consider visiting this site again in the future as many of the friends that we made return annually.

I was able to look around the sister site, Camping de la Baie. It is smaller than Plage, but the pool is a similar size and covered. It also had a larger play area, together with sport courts, including volleyball and table tennis on site. At la Plage the table tennis was across the road. Another thing that we did not like was that your freezer blocks had to be taken also accross the road for freezing, and when you received some back they were not completely frozen and yet you paid 0.50 for the privilege with it being handled by staff rather than being self policed as we had encountered in our previous experiences. We also lost some blocks somehow from this facility. So maybe next time we will take something so we do not need freezer blocks.

For all round shopping, the Super U in Carnac was fine, as was the Intermarche in Crac'h, but naturally the larger stores and general shopping is in Vannes. This is a good base for a mainly pool and beach and watersports holiday and if we had a better pitch in the first place would have scored a little better.

Room Tip: Take a look at the pitch map on the website and look for those appropriate for your unit. Be aware t...

There are so many camping parks in this area of Brittany, but we chose this one because it is right on a beautiful sandy beach - through the gate, over the dunes and you're there. It is also within walking distance of La Trinite-sur-Mer itself. Activities for children are available in July and August, so we were a little too early in the season to take advantage of this.

We booked the accommodation directly with the site and stayed in a "Breton chalet" (static caravan to you and me) which was modern, clean and functional. The kitchen included a fridge/freezer, full gas hob and microwave. The absence of a conventional oven was clear from the website when we booked, and it was no problem to cook meals just on the hob. My only niggle with the accommodation is that it would have been good to have had screens on the windows to keep the insects out while allowing windows to stay open. This wasn't a major issue for us but I imagine could be more significant in high summer - with salt marshes nearby I'm sure that mosquitoes could become troublesome.

The site itself was tidy and well-kept; neat hedges between each pitch afforded some privacy. There is a mix of static caravans, pre-erected tents, pitches for touring caravans and motor-homes, and for campers. The pool was not large and may have become crowded in peak season, but in late June was absolutely fine. The site owners are forced to close the pool between 12 noon and 3pm each day due to a legal issue with local residents. This is clearly stated on the website and didn't present any problems to us. We usually swam after breakfast, went out for part of the day, and then swam again when we got back.

This part of southern Brittany has numerous attractions: beautiful sandy beaches; the megaliths at Carnac; historic towns such as Auray, and boat-trips to Belle Isle and around the Golfe de Morbihan. There are cafes and restaurants in La Trinite itself to suit all pockets, with an obvious focus on fish and seafood. There is a very passable bar and restaurant five minutes walk along the beach, which also sells takeaway roast chicken and pizza.

Stayed here in mid June 2012 for 5 nights in a Eurocamp caravan. Both the Eurocamp couriers and the campsite staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The site is fairly small and when we were there was very quiet and peaceful. The site is close to the beach, a shop, takeaway and restuarant/bar and within walking distance of La Trinitie Sur Mer and Carnac Plage. Would highly recommend for a peaceful out of high season holiday
