It should really be 4.5 stars. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. The sea is lovely, clear and warm and when the haze lifts and you can see the mountain it is magical. However looking at the reviews here raised our expectations and led to disappointments.
We didn't experience the special treatments that so many others received. We had a triple celebration - in that 3 out of 4 in the party had special events- but there was no champagne for us. Maria offered to book us a meal in one of the restaurants, but we were entitled to that anyway. We didn't get an upgrade and no chat with Timos either. We were in block 3 and perhaps he only comes and talks to people in the "better" blocks.
However there were lots of good points and we did really enjoy our stay. The food was very good. The pool waiters were terrific. The rooms were very nice though to say we had a side sea view was really stretching a point - you had to go to the end of the balcony/patio ( which was also very nice) and look to the right and you might glimpse some sea through the trees!
Some tips
1. take mosquito stuff - we all got bitten quite badly
2. the old credit card in the air con doesn't work as their room card has a chip but you can ask for extra room cards
3. didn't notice the lovely chocolate brownies until near the end of the trip. Look out for them at breakfast and save for later.
4.I found the pillows too soft but ask at reception and they bring slightly firmer ones
5.Cocktails were much appreciated
6.Great to have free Wifi through the hotel, including the bedrooms
7. Enjoyed the free tea/coffee/fridge room facilities. Great to have juice,a beer and a bottle of wine with sachets of coffee and tea provided daily if needed.
8. Kids loved the pool and the activities there such as aquafit and water polo.
9. Did find the reception staff not as helpful as others had said.

We did go on a day trip on a boat which kept stopping for people to dive into the sea. Was great for the family but not much fun for me as a non swimmer- the games on board didn't materialise. Got good packed lunch to take from the hotel which compensated for the poor lunch on the boat. Also the rep in the hotel kept calling 9:15 am meetings which is not much fun on your holiday.

All in all it was a very good choice- we just didn't attract the extra attention that so many others describe and as this was such a special family trip it was a shame

Room Tip: Not block 3!

Enjoyed a great week at the Oceania hotel. The staff were all very friendly and happy to be working there largely due to a lovely management team. The grounds and rooms and pool were all kept spotlessly clean. The pool bar staff were continuously offering us drinks and Zaza at the beach made the best cocktails! The buffet in the main restaurant had such a variety of choice that you didn't need to visit the other restaurants although they were good too. The food was fresh and replenished often unlike other places we have been to. Special mentions for Graham and Rob Sugar from the entertainments team who were a great couple of guys to meet and chat to .So friendly and helpful with obviously such a wealth of customer service skills between them ! The entertainment programme was full and very well done. Maria the assistant manager was also very helpful and informative with a great sense of humour and fun! We will be back for sure and already look forward to our next visit. Many Thanks.

Room Tip: junior suites very spacious and quiet on ground level near entrance.

Thank you to all the staff at the Oceania for a special holiday to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Thank you to Maria for ensuring that our stay was memorable organising a special anniversary meal and champagne as well as our lovely suite.
A special shout out to Marfa and Alex ... thank you for your attentive service.

All of the staff at the Buffet and Asian and Italian restaurants ( our favourites ) deserve a mention and thank you.
Rooms are spotless and very well serviced with clean towels every day and clean sheets every other day! All inclusive bar fridge with wine, water ,juice and beer a lovely touch!
The management of this hotel have most certainly got this right. Happy staff mean happy customers!!

Entertainment goes on all day if you want it!

Only negative was as previously stated Nea Mountania is very run down probably due to the Greek economy so very little to see and do outside of the hotel. However this didn't bother us as we had the relaxing holiday we needed right there in the Oceania.

This hotel is the hotel that likes to say YES! Nothing is too much trouble. If you want a relaxing hotel based holiday in the sun next year then book this now! Well done Oceania!

Visited Oceania for a week in August with 7 members of our family and we all settled in straight away. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming & helpful...nothing was too much trouble. All areas in the hotel were spotlessly clean and well maintained. This is the biggest all inclusive hotel that we have visited and we were surprised that it never felt overcrowded in restaurants or by the pool. We spent a lot of time at the beech swimming & snorkelling and even found an octopus on our last day! I would highly recommend Oceania, the staff work tirelessly to ensure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable.

Having booked this as our first ever all inclusive holiday I was a little nervous that we would be having cornflakes bolognais for dinner and stepping over the drunken Brits at breakfast. We couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment we stepped of the 45 min coach transfer
another first, dont worry about a private transer, first drop so you'ld only save 10 minutes at most! We were greeted by the smiling staff, from then on it seemed that the only thing that mattered was that we had an exceptional time. The rooms were large and very pleasant , ours had an incredible view of the sea (3rd floor of block four) The food which had been a concern was quite delicious , lots of choice, always plentiful and at least 2 ' live cooking stations' at every meal. We ate at the Greek Taverner for lunch and breakfast from day two onwards, what you miss in choice from the main restaurant you more than made up for with the views and the charming GEORGE. The guy deserves a medal. Friendly , polite and a consummate professional . The pool bar waitresses are ever present, always smiling and cannot do enough for you. The entertainment team did a grand job leaving to you to choose to join in or not so no Hi Dee Hi ' join in or else ' moments. Our daughter had a small accident requiring stitches and once again the staff were marvellous, stitched up by the resident Doctor on site and we were having dinner an hour later, amazing how a bottle of Calaga rose makes everything better ( don't call childline, she's 25!!) If you want a chilled family holiday that's good value, great fun and Trouble free book now. On the value front we had that awful moment when you find out that you paid more than anyone so book direct and not as we did through Co-Op travel. Going back next year for sure

Room Tip: Top floor in block four

Having recently returned from this resort I can not recommend it highly enough. All the staff and I genuinely mean ALL the staff were polite, courteous, friendly, helpful and made our holiday extra special. Its impossible to name them all ..... Maria helping us prior to arrival and whilst there, George choosing our family meal in the Greek Taverna, Tonia plying us with far too many drinks poolside - I hate to think of the calorie content of her "special coffees" !!! How the girls at the beach bar manage to carry the trays I will never know. As a group of 8 we had had to be poolside by 0830 to secure beds together near the pool, but to be honest as a couple or family then sunbeds were still available later. It does get a bit busy round the main pool and I can understand why many return visitors opt for the Deluxe rooms. We will next time.

We managed to visit all the A La Carte dining options - the Italian was fantastic, the Greek so good we went twice and the Asian staff went out of their way to cater for my nieces allergies. The quality and choice of the food was fantastic and plentiful, we were certainly never hungry. Wine and drinks great, not watered down at all.

Some reviews mention issue with other guests - we had none whatsoever, nor were we bothered by lack of English speaking TV. There is so much for everyone to do you really shouldn't be putting the TV!

The entertainment staff work tirelessly and the result is great shows, family fun and a wicked pool party.

Thank you again to all the staff - we will be back.

Room Tip: Upgrade to deluxe
