“Lovely relaxing fantastic hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2011

The hotel is lovely with very friendly and helpful staff. Pool area is fantastic with amazing sea views. There were always plenty of sun loungers by the pool, all with parasols to keep the midday sun off you. The rooms are pleasant and kept very clean although the bathrooms are a little cramped, in particular the shower cubicle is very small. Each room has a balcony out the back, which was perfect for a glass of wine in the summer's evening. The location of the hotel is ideal - just 2 minutes from the beach and 10 minute walk from Hanioti town centre.

We paid for a session at the spa the hotel offers and this was the only disappointing part of the trip. The sauna door would not shut properly, so it did not warm up to more than 20 degrees (was hotter outside!) and they have a freezing cold jacuzzi not a hot one which I didn't really like. It was the only part of the hotel that seemed a bit tatty and unkept.
We stayed B and B, and whilst the food was pleasant, it wasn't particularly varied and we were pleased not to have gone half board as Hanioti itself has a great choice of restaurants - all really reasonably priced, serving a wide variety of good fresh food.

These are however, just a few small niggles and, all in all it was a great holiday in a great hotel, thoroughly recommended!

Just returned 5th Sept', went bed/breakfast. Stayed in B block with a beautiful HOT setting sun in the evening. Loved the balconys and didnt feel they were intrusive of each other. Cannot fault the studios and hotel. Staff excellant, had no problem even with small gripes which was immediately sorted. Front of house staff polite and friendly. Sweet hard working cleaning lady, daily change of sheets. As for the pool/bar staff brilliant, fun, helpful, polite and not intrusive.Pool was excellant. Clean and well kept. The position of the hotel is fantastic. A really pleasant 10 min walk to the main square. Short 3 min walk to beach/s. It was also positioned well enough to feel remote from both.(sounds strange but you have to be there). Weather was wonderful and the other holidaymakers there made it an excellant time for my husband, daughter and myself. Thankyou Lesse

Room Tip: All rooms have their own best bits! Youre on holiday chill and go with the flo.........

Booked at short notice after being recommended by neighbour's who had recently returned. Hotel pool/ bar area really clean. We were bed/ breakfast & by the end of stay were getting 'tired' of the same selection, although the food was well presented.
Most returnees mention 'George' and we have to say he's a really nice, cheerful guy. After introducing himself and asking our names, he remembered our names from then on!!
Not bad considering the numbers of guests passing through each week!! Nothing was too much trouble for him from morning till late evening.
It's a 15 minute stroll into town where the bars/ restaurants were stuated around the main square, but after a night out, we always headed back to the poolside bar where George would happily serve us until late.

Room Tip: Block 'B' gets the late evening sunshine on the balcony as it's West facing.

I came back from the Lesse on Monday and would happily go back tomorrow. I went with my boyfriend and a couple of friends.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful- the infamous George really did go the 'extra mile' and would always come around the pool visiting everyone asking how they were. Saying this all the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and any questions or queries were answered well.

The apartments and surrounding areas were always clean, the towels were changed twice in the week and the linen once. The kitchenette was small but had everything we needed to produce a tasty snack to have on the balcony. We stayed on the ground floor in block A and this had the sun on it from about 3pm onwards which was great to sit and have a drink before going out for dinner.

There was a wide selection of food for breakfast, something for everyone. I would recommend going to the Greek night-if only to see George in his costume! The food was very good also-I particularly liked the pork skewers and the roasted vegetables with feta.

The Lesse is in a great location-literally a few mins walk to the beach and 10mins into town. There are lots of shop, bars and restaurants to visit and we sampled some great traditional greek food. I would particularly recommend the Kassandra roof terrace restaurant! If you ask at the hotel though they will happily recommend you places to visit.

It was very hot when we visited and we intended it to b a very much 'chill out' holiday, so much of the day tended to evolve around the beach or pool but we did go and visit the next village down from Hanioti (Pefkohori.) We had a lovely lunch and wondered around the town.

We didn't hire a car but vowed if we went back we would definitely do this to go and explore more of the peninsular and surrounding areas-there is lots to keep you occupied if you want to explore.

The only mistake we made was going to N Moudania market on the bus. This market had been recommended by the tour guide, but really was just a local market and was not worth the 1hr 20 minute journey on a bus. This being said public travel is cheap on the island and a great way to see the surrounding town.

All in all we had a great time and would recommend The Lesse to everyone

Just returned from the Lesse Hotel. First greeting was warm and friendly however their mood changed once we queried anything. We stayed HB and was told of the Greek Night- it said first drinks free. When we paid our bill we were told at reception this did not apply to HB customers. She was really sharp saying you ate the food but did not have to drink making us feel like school children. They also charge 37 euros for a safe the owner said what do you expect you get the AC included! (wouldnt have considered the hotel if there was no AC) Also 10 euros for the remotecontrol(refundable but stupid) Food was ok but not enough fruit wouldnt stay HB again.
Room was fine and agree with other comments bathroom needs updating very gloomy and showers vary hot and cold. and towels really old. Plus side are the hard working bar and restaurant staff. Plenty of sun beds any time of day and location is good. Resort itself didnt disappoint. Hotel standards are not 4 star a clean basic 3star not a couples hotel lots of kids around.

Room Tip: Block A and B have sunny balconies in the evening

Best Bits:
Location is excellent, with beautiful sea views, very close to the beach and a short stroll to Hanioti.
The pool area staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. George is superb, and is a real asset to the hotel, his personality and outstanding committement to excellent service is what gives the hotel its atmosphere and saves it from mediocrity.
Our bedroom was bright, large and airy with fantastic sea views and a large balcony. Other visitors comments about the shower are bang on, but it was not an issue. Do need more pillows though!
Poolside snacks and lunches are good and reasonably priced.
Loads of pool beds available, nice grassy area overlooking the ocean is the best spot!
Worst Bits:
Breakfast - we only went to breakfast 3 times in 2 weeks, we preferred a bowl of cereal on our balcony - that says it all!
The beach - nothing to do with the hotel but do not expect a white sandy beach - it is actually very dirty in places - resembles a large ashtray - and it is pebbles rather than soft sand. The sea is fabulous though!

Greek night - really good, excellent food!
Friendly staff - specially George
Clean and smart looking bar/hotel
Close to beach
Short walk to Hanioti centre

Large rooms
Oh and there is a toaster in the restaurant now!

Cons
Lighting in the room wasnt great (specially when putting on make up!)
Balconies are not private
Transfer time
Litter on beach

Note - A glass of local wine is cheeper than a pineapple juice and it tastes good. Also buy a multi pack of water as 1 large bottle costs 75cents and the multi pack (6 large bottles) costs 2 euros
