“Never Again :(”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We went for the last week of August to this complex in Portinatx. It was quite shabby and disappointing. You don't realise before booking and that it is too late is that it is on the top most part of the Island and there is NOTHING aside from the complex to see or do. A walk to the nearest beach is 15mins away (up and downhill all the way) especially when walking back, all uphill. It is full of steps and stairs to the dining room etc. The food is average and the wine they serve is awful. There was no bath plug, and we put in other complaints about the telephone no working etc which were never resolved. The shop should of been opened twice a day and was only open once a day if at all. They say you get what you pay for but sadly it now costs in excess of £1000 for a week of this below average type of holiday. Every day the beds were made but no cleaning done at all. The patio terrace's were never cleaned and the whole place needed a make over. The entertainment was absolutely diabolical and started at 8.30 in the evening for children and 10 o'clock in the evening for the main entertainment (which was rubbish). we have put in a very long complaint through our tour operator and the response back is basically that the hotel take no responsibility, so no refund. We were not happy. I've never written a bad report but needed to this time, I am sorry we went there.

Room Tip: If you do decide to go here ask for a Seaview as a lot of the rooms seemed to long onto each other.

We stayed here in the 1st week of September. We chose it for 3 reasons;it was all inclusive, within a tight budget and for the quiet location.

It is in a hilly area so lots of work out for your legs! The walk into the busier area of Portinatx took around 10 to 15 minutes and that was a great place to go if you wanted a change of scenery from the complex or wanted a sandy beach.

After reading some reviews here, it made me feel a bit hesitant in coming to Club Vista Bahia but I am glad to say that I didn't experience the negatives written in some of the reviews here.

Our room was clean & presentable. It was cleaned everyday apart from the day we were departing and we had our towels changed every day. I also saw the pools being cleaned every day and when we had a little rainy & windy weather, the housekeepers and maintenance people were clearing up the pine tree debris that were blown from the beautiful pine trees that surround the complex.

The food was pretty tasty, always a range of meat, fish, salads and small cartons of ice cream available all day. Breakfasts consisted of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages (more like hot dogs though), cheese, selection of cold meats cereals, yogurts, pastries, rolls and sliced white bread- which could be toasted using the toaster machine!

Lunch choices were things like chicken drumsticks (very tasty!), fish, salads, French fries, pasta, bread rolls- can't remember much more as I usually just ate a range of those things for lunch.

Dinners had plenty of choices to, Paella, Chinese foods, different types of fish, pasta, sauces, French fries, different types of vegetables- you get the picture- lots of different choices. There were desserts but I would either choose the fresh fruit option or ice cream.

Drinks were always available. The hot drinks machine did break down but you could still access the other hot drinks machine. There was also food available from the snack bar at the lower pool. Drinks were certainly not watered down!

The view from the hotel was magnificent! And the sunsets there are amazing!
The complex is built in the mountainside so it is very quiet. The beach by the hotel is rock not sand and we saw plenty of little lizards running around which was great!

There are 2 small beaches in the busier part of Portinatx, which have beautiful crystal clear water. There are lots of places to eat or drink and we ate out 3 times.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The entertainment is more for families with kids and saw lots of kids enjoying the different entertainment that was put on each evening.

All in all, we never went hungry on this holiday and by going all inclusive, we saved lots of money by not going self catering. For the amount that this holiday cost, we were very happy to have gone here and would go back again.

We stayed here in the first week of september and had a fab time. I was really worried after we booked it to see the awful reviews but i think some people go way over the top.....ok there were bits that need working on like there was a pile of plates outside a room for the whole week and did find a nappy by the pool one day. But the food was good its an all inclusive at the end of the day they are all similar there was something different everyday.

The pool area was good and i had a great time in our regular spot although the sunbeds do need replacing they are a bit flimsy in their old age. Rooms were alright we had no problems could have done with updating but hey how long are you in there. Views AMAZING!!!

They were short staffed because they havent long been taken over by new management. Some staff were annoying but are you with them all the time? Portinatx is a 15 min walk which we did everyday it is a lovely place not big but pretty.

Overall great really good holiday. Just dont consentrate on the bad bits because there arent many just have a good time and enjoy the good bits.

Just returned from a week in this complex in Portinatx Overall it was quite shabby and disappointing. What you don't find out until its too late is that it is on the top most part of the Island and there is NOTHING aside from the complex to see or do. A taxi down to the next beach cost almost 10e and has only a few bars and beach shops. There is a short cut down but they don't tell you this and the long way around takes 2 hours! It is full of steps and stairs to the dining room etc. The food is average (although my husband didn't like any of it) and the wine they serve is awful. Most of the bulbs in the apartment had gone and there was no bath plug, which was never resolved. They say you get what you pay for but sadly it now costs in excess of £1000 for a week of this below average type of holiday. Every day the beds were made but no cleaning done at all. They didn't leave clean towels all week, in fact, they removed them and didn't replenish any. The patio terrace's were never cleaned and the whole place needed a make over. I've never written a bad report but needed to this time, I am sorry we went there.

Me and a friend stayed at Club Vista Bahia from 25th August - 4th September.

Well, where do I start?

The food was basic and boring, we couldn't make 1 meal out of what was there.
There were no daily fresh towels, they were changed once in 10 days. We had to pinch toilet rolls from the cleaners as they weren't replaced!
Something was always out of order ie, internet, vending machines or THE ONLY drinks machine!
We had to pay for wifi. When paying for all inclusive you would think they would chuck that in for free no?
The pool was cleaned once in 10 days.
The foreigners that were holidaying there were extremely rude. Also some staff were rude and sleazy. There was only 1 barman on at night, bless him, he did his best.
Our balcony door was left wide open on 2 different occasions after the room was "cleaned" by chamber maids. The rooms stunk of damp and needed serious modernizing. When chamber maids swept the room, they left it at the door to blow back in once opened.
The entertainment was rubbish, based on kids every night and half of the team didn't know what they were doing.

The only good things about this hotel was the views, and the fact that we met two very nice people.

Do not trust the pictures on the internet, they are very deceiving.

We stayed here for two weeks this August and had a lovely time. Ok the hotel needs a little update and the food is a little repetitive but you will always find something to eat!! Lau at the pool bar is the loveliest man ever even though he is over worked massively, he is there everyday from 11am till 6pm without a break!!! I don't see why people put it down for being dirty that is the people that don't tidy up after themselves that make it that way, all staff are friendly and helpful! The views are amazing you must watch the sunset from the dining area it's beautiful.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday portinatx is a lovely place and only a 10/15 min walk from the hotel with some nice bars and restaurants.
The hotel is really not that bad! A holiday is what you make it at the end of the day and we had a fab time here.

We stayed at this hotel for a week from 17th August 2013 after reading previous reviews about it and most of them were pretty accurate but I thought I would also share my experience.

The location of this hotel by far is the best thing about it- it truly has some amazing views and it’s a perfect location to watch the sunset. There is a lovely beach just a 10 minute walk as well. The rooms are a suitable size and are always clean and tidy. Out of 7 nights we had room service for 6 of them so wasn’t bad at all- although the beds weren’t changed the whole time we were there- the towels were though. There was air con which was quiet and worked well and kept us nice and cool at night.

In peak times be prepared to have to set an alarm early to get a sun bed otherwise you have no chance as it’s that dreaded towel left on sun bed situation and if you like umbrellas I would advise you to bring one along as there are about 10 for the entire hotel and half of them are broken.

There are no staff visible throughout the day (only reception) so no one is there checking everything is ok and this tends to leads to problems such as the communal toilets in the bar area flooding (due to people putting toilet paper down there when they shouldn’t be) which lead to some people slipping over (including myself and it wasn’t alcohol induced!!) so be careful.

There was only ever ONE member of staff serving the entire hotel throughout the day food and drink and unfortunately this continues in the evening so be prepared to queue.. Just the hotels way of slowing people down with their all inclusive food and drinks in my opinion. The day staff (Lau) worked extremely hard though and was very friendly and a total credit to the hotel. Some of the evening staff are pretty pervy to anything female but they also work hard.

The food is pretty basis but there was always something I could eat and there are there beautiful sights from where you sit and eat which kind of makes up for it. This is the only place where you don’t have to queue to get a drink as you can help yourself.

The evening entertainment is very repetitive (the children’s entertainment) but again the staff work their socks out and do the best they can with the minimal and budget entertainment they provide.

They do provide a late check out where they provide a room for 30 mins for free which is a nice touch.

In conclusion I would definitely go back to this area of Spain but wouldn’t go back to this particular hotel- I do appreciate this is a 3 star hotel and was a good price but there were a few little things I would have expected for this money and have received in previous 3 star hotels- i would say this is more of a 2 star hotel.
