“The best seafood, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation, and shared the seafood platter between three of us.

The seafood was the best I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly and with so much there we could hardly finish it!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and helped us with the foods and wine to suit.

I look forward to returning sometime very soon - definitely worth a visit from Cape Town!

Thanks Cafe Orca for the most unbelievable meal.

“The Gem of Melkbos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I went there the other night and the most amazing food experience. The service was professional, the food was awesome and the owners (Ricky and Jason) attended to my every need. My waiter worked his magic and i decided to go for the "Melkbos Platter" All i can say is that this was the best Sea Food Platter i had. Definately value for money and th portions are very generous in deed. Guys, keep up the good work!!!! You will see me there again and this time i will bring my friends.

“Fantastic food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

I have been trying ton get a reservation for a while (always a good sign) and this time I called a week in advance.

The menu is 98% seafood with only one non-seafood item, that being Fillet steak. The oysters were fresh and tasty, however the mains were absolutely amazing. The Moroccan Yellowtail was probably the best fish I have eaten anywhere in the world, the calamari steak and tubes were reported to be excellent.

Deserts are limited to two items, a chocolate caramel cake and a chocolate sponge base with chocolate layers and a hint of brandy.

The dinner was great, service was good and I will definitely be back.

“Reliable good food”

Have been coming to Cafe Orca for a few years now and have yet to be dissappointed. Food always good with interesting specials and deserts. Good wine list.

“Seafood only, but excellent service and quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013 via mobile

This is a SEAFOOD Restaurant. No meat, pasta or anything else, so make sure everyone in your party, eats FISH.
The location is on the main Beach Rd at Melkbosstrand, and the sea is just across the road. There is normally plenty of parking available. Also note that no reservations are accepted on a Sunday - first come, first served.

The restaurant is a converted house, and the conversion adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant, with many paintings of subjects associated with the sea.
The food is always of a very high standard, due to the restaurant using only the freshest ingredients. The salads are particularly good. Wide selection of fish types available, depending on what is fresh. Typical South African sized servings ( large!)
Staff are well trained and knowledgable about what is on the menu, and inform customers about options/specials not on the menu.
Overall a very good experience that does not need you to "break the bank".
Definitely recommended for both locals and tourist.
